You can do masters not sure about PhD in anatomy. That way, you can teach med students and even become a professor if you know your onus
That's what I'm telling the guy. Apart from lecturing, there's no tangible job description for an anatomist, except you divert into Medicine, dentistry, banking or teaching(secondary school)

thanks @ jemmiee.
I'm kinda losing interest in this course @ Human Anatomy,
people are nah saying any good thing abt it.
@Jemmiee...please narrate ur time during Anatomy and wat it takes for me.....
If possible dear, where do you work nw and salary range of an Anatomist
Ai lost interest too. It's normal. Anatomy taught me how to sit down and read my books. Anatomy taught my how to answer questions in exam. All anatomy needs from you is Read Read Read and draw draw draw. I've told you over and over again, there is no job description for an anatomist. Stop building castles in the air. You end up working as something else, a banker especially. Or a teacher.

do you know how many people score above 180/200? this policy lacks intelligence
Ah think they know what they're doing. That's why they pegged polytechnic and college of Education at 180 too. So that most peeps that scored below 200 and didnt get their course of choice will be pushed into these institutions.

Hello dudes!
please my questn is: What are the specialization of an Anatomist apart from Lecturing and Does A person who study "Human Anatomy" in school also go for "HouseManship"?
Funny enough, I'm an anatomy graduate. What Dbrainiac1 said is very true. Either you go back to school for medicine, dentistry or lecturing(MSc)(PhD). Or just lol... It's painful to work hard n come out with a first class in anatomy, only to find out you can't do anything tangible with it in Nigeria, only the above mentioned paths can be taken, unlike your engineering, economics or accountancy first class graduates counterparts that have first class opportunities waiting for them, as a reward for hardwork, there is nothing like reward for hardwork in anatomy. The only reward is when people respect you as a first class graduate of anatomy, which won't put money on your table. But you'll do IT. in your year three.

The question obviously doesn't have an answer. It's not all questions asked by people that one can confidently say YES or NO. At times you just have to make people sit down and do their homework, this is information age for crying out loud. Nobody is laughing at any body's ignorance here; how are you even sure that he doesn't know the answer already and decided to be fooling around. I really envisage a society where young people will be informed and enlightened, and the best way to go about it is to educate yourself by yourself.
Normally, I would have ignored the post, but just recently I was in a group where educated people were arguing seriously on the MBBS/BDS dichotomy. A fellow even went as far as saying outrightly that BDS graduates don't know any thing apart from the teeth. lol. Could you imagine such level of ignorance? And when I finally decided to clear the air, I discovered that his dogma can awaken a dead elephant. So, maybe the guy that asked that question is that type of person, maybe only trying to start up a stupid argument here . so how do you make him change? It's by making him learn the hard way.
It has been said several times on this page, that one should only go for what he has passion for. Then why bringing such thing up again? Sincerely, without any apology. That's the dumbest question i have seen. I stand to be corrected.
You sound angry... Ai wonder who got you angry... Ai can't see anything wrong with his question, I've been hearing the rumour too, so if you have an answer, clear the air, thanks.

Jamb cannot be scrapped. it is a whole organisation for christ sake. What happens to theThousands of people employed. You can argue all you want but it is the benchmark for all admission seekers (credibility aside).
They made a decision between JAMB and a mere screening test and I am not surprised at the outcome.
Jamb can never be scrapped only revamped.
The first logical post I've seen. You just spoke my mind. Jamb can't be scrapped just like that. It's just like saying The University of Ibadan should be closed down and demolished.

hello @ everybody!! happy weekend!
Please guyz, can a person who studied Human Anatomy also go for 'HOUSEMANSHIP'
And If they are to go for service, are the posted to teach or to the hospital??
Yes, in Unical, you go for IT in year three. When you go for nysc, majority are sent to the classroom to teach, so don't hope for any hospital job.

This is what u get when u are been ruled by bad govt. Jamb is the main problem of education sector in nigeria. The candidates who score high marks in Jamb are not the best candidates, hence dull students are been pushed to universities thereby producing dull graduates. And here we are. Our graduates are not employable. This education minister lacks wisdom. He does not know that jamb is the problem of education in this country, not post utme. Jamb should be scraped.
It's wrong for you to say "OUR GRADUATES ARE NOT EMPLOYABLE" It will sound better if you use "some" or "most". I'm a graduate, and I'm employed, and I'm "showing working" (a slang).. Please don't generalize, thanks.

Hierarchy of Doctors

Well, now that I’ve mentioned all the staffs that work in a hospital…..

Let me teach all of you the Hierarchy of Doctors:

1) House officers: These are the house boys (like me, lolzz). They are the first to be exposed to patients (even Ebola patients, lolzz), they are the ones that sleep in the hospital when on call. They are the ones that the registrars, nurses and other foooools always love to vent their frustration on…. And we swallow that bitter pill for one full year, before we swallow another NYSC pill for another year

2) REGISTRARS: During or after nysc, we write exams (primaries) to be admitted READ MORE
Nice one, keep it up.

omoh it's a two way thing.. Either way, it's for my favour jare o. God is in control.

I think the screening exercise permitted by the minister is that final screening, where student submit their Waec, jam , result then the school could juxtapose all the results systematically, before issueing admission on merits. Other quota systems will you remain in place.

I don't think this is a welcomed development because it will be too cumbersome for universities to carefully select the best jamb results, considering the fact that jamb is a useless body...

Jamb should be more organized in my opinion ....
It should be more coordinated I mean their accredited centers shouldn't be in cafes or any digital Institute... They should get branch offices with specially designed systems for their examination... That is how post utme is conducted in Universities....

If jamb could be as effective as post utme to schools then. Our government are heading towards the right direction.. But if not scrap jamb instead...

Those saying this will lead to man no man... I don't think so.. With or without post utme man no man has being there
You're making a point. Sha, let's watch and see. Any one they adopt will still favor me. #fingersCrossed

In Unizik, Anatomy and Physiology are under Basic Medical Sciences
Radiography, Med. Lab., Physiotherapy/Med. Rehab, and Nursing are under Health Sciences and Tech.
Pharmacy- Pharmaceutical sciences
Meidicine- Medical Science.
i don't know why a school will categorise Nursing etc as BMS
Aionno o. Well that's Nigeria for you. Whatever rocks your boat, go with it.

Just a little correction

In Delsu, if you choose to cross over via transfer at any level (200l and above), you're going to start mbbs from 200l

Also, at Delsu, our course outline differs a lot from that of BMS

...
duly noted. Thanks for the correction.

THIS IS EXCEEDINGLY DANGEROUS!
. I will just state my facts:
1) Jamb is not a credible exam
2) People score 200 and go to schools and ace their courses
3) Jamb should not be used for admission cause its a chance exam...the best student in my set failed and even the dullards had 206
4) I have a friend who scored low in jamb even when I knew she deserved up to 320...she's now in Howard on scholarship..
5) the best student in Oyo state had less than 240 in jamb but scored 100 in Ui, in yr1 physics
6) most of the smartest dudes in Nigeria end up having low marks in jamb yet they ebd up with badass GPS
7) if not for putme, they would have been slyed for admission
cool schools like Ui will now revert to their very difficult admission process, which means: no more admission for u if u didn't cheat wella in olevel with multiple As
9) a credit students will no longer be able to gain admission for courses like med and law etc,
10) I saw a guy during my clearance in ui with just 6 credits, 240 in jamb, but 82% in put me, who gained admission for MBBS, this will no longer happen
11) finally, I'll use myself, I had a low score in jamb but ended up being among the highest scorers in d put me, scoring far more than people with 280, 290
12) this will finish up many students chances of admission, mark me, if it was bad b4, its now worse
Exactly my thoughts.

The Joshesuites

It would be a mistake if i don’t mention these groups of JOHESUITES

LAB SCIENTISTS!!!

Hey, don’t get me wrong!! I love these goons, i respect them a lot, but why must they cross their boundary, why??

They can never do the work of a pathologist (be it chemical pathology, microbiology, hematology or histopathology)

imagine a lab scientist running assay for PSA (do they even know what PSA means??) or checking for reed-sternberg cells (do they even know the difference between normal and abnormal white blood cells??) or they are called to review a patient that has been refractory to all forms of antibiotics (make i no even talk sef) or finally, they are called to perform ...continue reading

well I now get why you said a D.E student would less likely fail their MB. If actually they do same courses with Med students for over 3 years and still redo those courses for another 2 years, then they aren't expected to fail. Buh then wetin aspirant like me know
lol sorry jare, don't mind my tone, abi o.... They do same courses just from year one to year three first semester, while the medicine students write their MB in the second semester, the BSc students fly to their different tents...

If only emergency medical service had been applied maybe he may be alive or maybe not, would have been worth a try.
Apart from govt, nothing stops individuals from donating to help build wards and stock up their drugs. Then again what do I know,
