How many years visa does Canada give a first timer ?

The visa is valid till the expiry of your passport. If you have 3 years left on your passport, you get 3 years visa. If you have 10 years left, you get 10 years visitor’s visa

Based on my knowledge, you don't necessarily need an invitation to apply as a tourist. What is important is demonstrating strong ties to your home country. While proof of funds is important, it is not the only requirement for visa approval. You should be able to demonstrate you are going back to your home country after your visit. You do not need to worry. Just be on the lookout for it.
The fact that your Visa Starts on the 12th is not the reason you are yet to get it. My visa is still on the 18th and I got it the 5th day after biometrics. So it Varies. Please do not panic. My MA's BRP mail dropped on the 17th Jan and she collected her passport on the 11th of Jan 2023.

To collect your passport, what you will use is a collection mail....you will get it

Please i got my visa yesterday 3rd March 2023 but i am yet to get a decision mail. I have been refreshing my mail since yesterday morning and also checked junk but no mail. I was told it's decision mail i will use to collect my BRP in UK. Your advices please

Some people have done it and it worked. You necessarily don't have to do change of Name. The most important thing is to provide substantial evidence that your relationship exist.

Ps: Change of Name on Passport may take close to 2 months. Mine took 2 months and some days. Change of Name on Bank account, court and newspaper publication is not a problem as you can do that within 3 days
