HelenaEdwin:
I have an already issued US visa. I am planning to travel in July during my leave. Second time to the US.
My question is: i want to travel with my niece who also have US Visa but hers will be expirying in August 1, 2018 but my plans is to stay one month. From the date of intended trip, her visa expires in 2weeks Should we renew her visa via the dropbox before we travel?
If its possible renew before going.

Nice post.

I'm thinking of visiting Netherlands on a tourist visa.

How can I go about the visa application?

How fast is it before application is decided on??

I need your sincere help advice/ suggestions
Felixitie:
Actually I am planning going Netherlands too based on work or employment visa through someone I met via LinkedIn. The processing is normal for schengen visa, you can Google it. Letter of invitation is paramount.

Sorry been away from online a few days now. What' going on? I will try and catch up. Yes I was persecuted and stood my ground. I remember one belligerent critic of me garnering 36 likes for an epistle he wrote about me. I continued to help people here regardless. Then people started to testify left and right that they won their TRV due to my help. Even those who persecuted me started to approach me for help. One moniker here I remembered famously coined them "two faced." Now I can't even keep up with the PMs. Anyways keep up the good work bro. After 5 Months since I filed my application, I was called for medicals last week. Half down, half to go. USASK Fall 2018. Jesus is Lord!!!

If you are traveling home from the US but have an expired US visa, will you be detained at the airport?

Answer:

Absolutely not. Your US visa is irrelevant once you have arrived in the US. It is only permission to travel to a US port of entry and ask to be admitted. If CBP lets you in, the visa no longer matters; only the I-94 or whatever the CBP officer gives you regarding your allowed purpose and length of stay matters. You can enter the US on the last day that the visa is valid, and stay for up to six months (standard B2 allowance) or however long CBP says you can, and leave without a moment’s trouble even if the visa expired months ago

Omodadi2:
I was interviewed again today(3rd time)

VO: why are you going to the US

To have my second child

VO: Have u travelled outside Nigeria before

Yes. In 2016 to have my first

VO: How long are you staying
3months

VO: Do you have the proper documentations this time?
Yes I do, which one would you like to see

VO:Doctors correspondence and expenses
I gave her all email communications, appointment confirmation, expenses sheet from doctor, my budget sheet of $20,100

VO: checked very well, and asked for financial cover
Gave her Nigeria bank statement, US statement, payslips, employment letter from my office.

VO: checked through and said, sorry you are not eligible for the visa.

I went ahead this time to asked her why I am not eligible, she referred me to online information for medical tourism criteria and the documents required, I told her these are all required, tell me whc isn't there.

VO: You brought them but they are not making sense. I also said sorry, is it the account statements or the doctors correspondence and I feel you could ask a question or two if there's something not clear to you. ? VO kept mute and later said that everythingis there on paper, you don't need to be explained anything.

I wanted to talk again then she said she's sorry, she may not be able to give me any more information. Have a nice day!

Only God knows the criteria for getting US visa again now cos I don't get it anymore. My visa expires in January, many people told me to use it before expiry and I will be stamped. But because I like following due process, I said NO that I'll renew my visa, now see my life. I have spent up to 500k applying and travelling for visa interviews. The same thing I got in 2016 by just saying the truth this way, and even now my income has increased and the claim is I am not eligible. It is well!
Omodadi2,

You had your first child in the US on what on Birth Tourism?

First question

Nice Tips.

Frankrobbn1:
Hello Room!

I am going through the thread and I have seen most applicants being refused of their study visas based on the following grounds shorlisted on this post and this has given most of them sleepness night, some have decided to quit the Canadian dream and end up having the mindset that Canadian study visa is though and can not be easily approved unless you use an AGENT, some even go as far as paying millions to AGENTS just to get their study visa. I must tell you that it is a lie, most agents even go as far as complicating issues for applicant, which most times lead to misrepresentation and a 5 years Ban. After reading this post, you have to get up to your feet , beat your chest and do things in the right way and get your study permit app approved Asap.

RECENT REFUSAL GROUNDS:

1-) Purpose of visit
2-) Current employment situation
3-) Personal asset and financial status.
4-) family ties in Canada or home country.

On this post I'll address the above reasons and give POSSSIBLE WAYS to tackle the concerns of the visa officer.

1-) PURPOSE OF VISIT -

It is important that your visit coincides with an important event in your life or the purpose of the visit can be reasonably explained in your SOP. If it is for study you must have qualifications in that field or have the expertise in that area. Most times, your job role or company should be relevant to previous studies and to your chosen field of study in Canada.
If you decide to change career path, it should be clearly stated on your SOP with compelling/strong/ and convincing reasons to why you decide to change a career path.

Your letter of intent should reflect the following and should be addressed in each paragraphs to avoid repetition.
1-) Describe your academic background briefly.
2-) Why you choose Canada not Nigeria.
3-) The school.
4-) The program of choice.
5-)How you intend to finance your studies in Canada without working.
6-) What you intend to achieve at the end of the program and how it might benefit you in the future.

Everything should point to 'studying in Canada' not working or visiting friends and family in Canada or securing a PR after completion of studies.

Address all academic backlogs, study gaps, study plans etc... on your SOP.

2-) CURRENT EMPLOYMENTSITUATION

Every embassy will like to satisfy themselves that the applicant has a gainful employment in their country of residence and that the prospects of getting a job when they loose their current one is high. That satisfies them that you won’t leave your job when you travel to their country. Canada’s High Commission is no exception. You need to prove to them that you’ve been working for at least 2 years continuously, you earn a good salary, say CAD$400- CAD$1,000 plus a month depending on the level of your education, you have leave to travel, and you are qualified for the job you are currently employed in. So add your CV, school certificates, previous and current job offer letters, leave letters, pay slips and introductory notes from your firm to evidence your employment.

3-) PERSONAL ASSET AND FINANCIAL STATUS

Like most embassies, the Canadian High Commission will also be interested in your finances. Show a 6-month bank statement or more for any Canada visa application; both current and savings accounts, showing your salaries or income from employment. If you have treasury bills, building society savings, mortgages, microfinance or credit union savings and the pass book or certificates, share investments in companies etc, add all to prove you have enough financial resources before and after your trip. There is no cut off bank statement figure. So try as much as possible to show your monthly inflow and outflow of salaries in your salary bank statement with a good closing balance as a proof of financial establishment.

4-)

FAMILY TIES IN CANADA OR HOME COUNTRY

Prospective travellers who were refused with this point wondered why they should have a family in Canada before being given the visa. Note that the full statement is “family in Canada OR family in your home country”. So its either you failed to prove each criterion or both criteria, that is, whether you have family ties in Canada or whether you have family ties to your home country. This is what you do :

Show sufficient ties to your home country i.e. what will compel you to return home?

1-) Do you have a spouse and kids(minors) and are you leaving them behind?
2-) Do you have elderly parents who depend on you?
3-) Do you own businesses/property that you need to continue managing?
4-) Do you have adequate funds?
5-) Do you have family members whom are not accompanying you to Canada?

All these mentioned are HOME TIES, so if you have any of the following listed, endeavor to show evidence to each of them and make sure you add it to your application.

The above information is Legit and was obtained from a Canadian Legal personnel.

I wish you all Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

All the best to the hopefuls and to the approved, CONGRATULATIONS!!!.

YOU have hope if you can contact US hospital and do a booking with them before visa application the sky is ur floor.

Hello Olalicious seems I can tap inspiration from your story though my question is also open to the house.
I am a first preggy lady already 12weeks gone...
Hubby and I applied for the US tourist visa and like you said got denied even before I realised we were interviewed. Now I was asked if I was pregnant in the interview and said YES.... big mistake.... anyway no documents were check or anything ..... was heartbroken cos the plan was to get the US tourist VISA for his nieces wedding in Dec then travel in April/ May for the birthing process.....

Since that wasn't possible decided to try the Canadian route. We have a relative there and wanted to apply for the tourist visa.....

Upon reading this thread however, I realised that US and Canadian embassy communicate and seems I cannot hide my pregnancy anymore in my visa application.

Oh plus I have Zero travel history .... I mean Zero so that's also not in my favour........

Well my question is Do I have any hope?? Cos I really want thishuh

Thanks to anyone who reads and replies

quote author=sjunad post=59562329]Hello guys, this is my profile

First application - Online
Timeline (submitted online 17th November and biometrics 18th November 2016). Refused 30th march 2017)

Documents attached to lawyer

* Scanned international passports
* Upfront eMedical
* Marriage certificate
* Spouse enrollment letter
* Spouse student visa
* Spouse study permit
* Spouse Canada bank account statement with closing balance of $10,000 CAD
* Sponsor's 2 Nigeria bank account statement with combined closing balance of 12.5m
* Sponsor's business documents
* Use of rep form.

When it was close to submission, our lawyer now said they didn't require bank statements for online application and there was no place to attach it. We weren't comfortable with it but didn't want to be arguing with professional since that was why she was employed to give advice. We followed her advice and didn't attach bank statements. It was later I now found out that there was a section on the online application to attach other documents where she should have made use of.

On the refusal letter they ticked personal assets and financial status. Other reason: You did not demonstrate that you and your spouse have sufficient financial resources to support one year of study and your presence in Canada.

I requested the GCMS case note and they wrote
reason for rejection:
Refused for lack of financial sufficiency.

Second application - Paper
Timeline (submitted and biometrics 10th May 2017. Passport pick up email 15th August 2017)

Documents submitted:

* Use of rep form
* My letter of explanation

* Nigeria police report
* UK police report (I've lived in the UK for more than 6months)
* Marriage certificate
* Change of name documents (newspaper publication, affidavit for name change)
* BSc and MSc certificate and transcripts
* My car documents (as proof of Personal asset)
* Deed of gift of a property (as proof of Personal asset)
* Birth certificate
* Confirmation of employment
* CV

Spouse documents
* Spouse bio data page
* Spouse enrollment letter
* Spouse student visa
* Spouse study permit
* Spouse tuition fee statement of account from school showing no outstanding fee as at the time of application
* Tenancy agreement with rent payment receipts
* Transcript
* Unconditional offer letter

Sponsor's documents
* Two Nigeria bank account statement with combined closing balance of 21m
* Sponsor's business documents
* Affidavit of support
* Bio date page of sponsor

My Dad was my sponsor. I didn't submit my own statement of account and hubby's own as the balance was not satisfactory so I wanted it to be clear that he was the one sponsoring my stay in Canada.

I used lawyer the second time but we all did the thinking together.

I hope this long post helps someone. Wishing everyone success.[/quote]

TravelRe: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Jephehe:
Hello Everyone,

I just wish to share my experience from US Visa application, POE and Itinerary.

I applied for US Visa to see a distance family friend in California that offered me an Invitation with his white lady. At the time of interview i said i am going to California and the Visa was issued to my whole family of 4.

The day we attended the interview our Host and his family was in Nigeria for their mother's burial.

After 4 months (The date in my DS-160 was a different one entirely) we all travel to New York and spend 2 days in NY and used a local flight to CA.

At the POE it was a never an interview setting as i have prepared for but just a smooth easy going thing.

last 2months I and my family flew to JFK NY and pick a local flight and head to Canada without any interview at the POE.

My kind advice is that since you have a valid US visa you can enter through any Airport in any part of US without stress, DS-160 information you filed in should not worry you.

Been there done that.
