Education / Re: How I Graduated With A Cumulative GPA Of 4.02. My Mistakes, My Lessons. by jerikoyan(m): 5:56am On Jan 04, 2015
Mr. Fred long time. grin
Engrtemmy:
My name is Fred (not real name) and I graduated from the university of Benin. I studied an Engineering course.

Let me start by saying I was never a dull student. I started my tertiary education by attending one of the best polytechnics in the southwest where I graduated as one of the best students with little or no effort. I remember vividly how I once started reading for an exam I had by 9 a.m on that same day. I still had a very good grade.

Fast forward two years, I finished my OND and gained admission that same year to further my course at the University of Benin.

While several polytechnic students claim their experience at the polytechnic helped them succeed when they got to the university, in my own case, the reverse was the case. My experience and life style in the polytechnic turned out to be my achilles heel at the university.

Stay tuned.

A nice move, the man is a yoruba to seal the west where apc controls and a pastor of r.c.c.g to end the conspiracy theorists. Hopefully this will appeal to the undecided and christians because he is more christian than gej he is a friend of adeboye. I would go and browse more on him. And atlas a new face everybody had wanted in govt is here
Nice one by APC, prof Osinbajo was a speaker during THE PLATFORM programm oganised by pastor poju oyemade during the independence day celebration, the pastor is sound more than GEJ.am sure APC picked cause of his strong christain background, he heads one of the popular rccg in ikoyi.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) today reopened the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) terminal that was closed after a clash broke out between clearing agents and officers of the Nigerian Customs Service at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Alhaji Dikko Abdullahi, who announced the reopening of the terminal after 12 days of closure this morning, tasked clearing agents operating at the airport cargo section on compliance to import guidelines and provisions of the Customs and Excise Management Act (CEMA). He also warned against touting and unruly behaviour even as he charged the leadership of the registered freight forwarding associations operating at the terminal to ensure that undesirable elements are denied access into the facility.National President, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Olayiwola Shittu, who was part of the team that received Abdullahi, assured that the clearing agents would work together with the management of the airport to weed out touts from the system. It would be recalled that the Nigerian Customs Service shut the cargo terminal on November 20 after hoodlums allegedly attacked the Area Controller.Trouble started when the Area Controller was said to have been pelted with stones by the hoodlums shortly after he directed agents not to go near the bulk breaking section of the cargo terminal on his way to work.Following the development, Olanrewaju called for reinforcement from the Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘A’ who confronted the protesting agents. It was gathered that the presence of the FOU operatives made the agents scamper for safety as they were said to have shot sporadically in the air. Some clearing agents were arrested.

Education / Re: OAU Students Boo Jonathan by jerikoyan(m): 4:02pm On Nov 28, 2014
Students of Obafemi ‎Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, on Friday expressed their frustration with the ‘unfavourable’ condition they were subjected to over the presence of President Goodluck Jonathan in the institution.
Jonathan is attending a conference with South-West traditional rulers and politicians at the OAU.

It was gathered that public buses were not allowed into the school premises and majority of the stud‎ents had to trek long distances to their examination hall.
In one of the instances, ‎a Post Graduate Diploma student was seen arguing with security personnel after she refused entry.
Though she explained that she had exam, the security officials refused her plea.
Students were also seen protesting at the front of Oduduwa Hall where the meeting was holding.
The placard-carrying protesters were heard shouting “thief” on all the politicians that storm the venue.
Among the inscription on their placards are, “Education is our right, give us credible leadership, all we want is standard education.”
According to the students, they suspect that the leaders are in the school to endorse the president for 2015, despite “his failure to develop the educational sector.”
They also claimed that the meeting subjected them to suffering and was ill-timed because they are writing their examinations.
Some of the students also alleged that the buses provided by their union to ease movement were disturbed by politicians.
One of them identified as Isreal, said, “This is ‎rubbish. Is the president or politics more important than our lives? How will they subject us to this kind of suffering. Buses were denied entrance and we have to start trekking.”
Another student added, “All in the name of presidential visit, all activities are put on hold. We can’t do anything. They should not have brought this kind of meeting here. They should know OAU students don’t like oppressors. ‎They have the gut to come here after increasing our school fees exorbitantly.”
When contacted, the President of the Students Union of OAU, Isaac Ibikunle, said buses have been provided to aid the movement of the students.

Politics / Re: Why We Raided A Computer Office In Lagos - DSS by jerikoyan(m): 10:11am On Nov 23, 2014
i Wonder o when nairaland was hacked was it seun's house or office that was raided. Smh for this country cry
Urine:
As much as I respect the DSS, Ogar doesn't have any idea of what she's saying.

1. If she says there was an attempt to hack the INEC network, does that means INEC an important and sensitive institution doesn't have an intrusion detection system? In fact the IPs that should be able to access the database should be limited.

2. If the APC data centre was an hacking office, you don't need to physically be in the premises to access their logs. DSS officials can access it if they are really good. Also with the manner they stormed the office, it would have been easy for the alleged hackers to clean up evidence, with a single button that evidence will be wiped clean.

3. If a real hacker wants to hack, he/she won't need a party office to do it. Even dumb hackers always get the 'gist' about location.

Ms Ogar needs to come up with a more compelling argument to convince me.

No hyip is secure the one paying today will stop paying when dey are nt making profit again or when their number of users are too much for dem to manage. ;Dback in days around year 2008 a3union used to be d most reliable overnight their site went down, to know the magnitude of how people invested in them: they were sued by different people but nothing come out of it. My advise for u exploit the nairaland biz section lots of lucrative and secure places to put your money.

This a very Nice idea am jeremiah by name a member of the elite group too. Having a group will help in a long way to decide together on mode of sending quota allocation, we can also give each other marketing strategies too. I second d motion for the group creation on bbm or whatsapp or any other medium convinent for by members including lagtech. Thanks
balogunsam: @lagtech. I pinged you on BBM.

I'd like us to have a forum (whatsapp or BBM) for the Elitebook JV members where we all can discuss on how to expedite and also make this work out well for all involved parties and you,our manager.

We'd like to jointly reach a decision on the best course of action to take which will ultimately be subject to your convenience and ours too.

We'll like you to be a member of the group too so we can have your inputs and clear directions as it's the main determining factor.

So please which do you prefer? BBM or Whatsapp? or even a forum on nairavault.com if you prefer that?

What's your take?

Education / Re: Ebola: School Owners, FG On Collision Course by jerikoyan(m): 10:43am On Aug 30, 2014
tng: People keep screaming money, parents would still pay fees in Oct on resumption so where is the revenue loss? Teachers would still be paid because they have a contract with the school.

All in all, it's the children that would still lose because most likely they won't finish their syllabus for the term because of the time or it would be rushed.

Seriously this directive wasn't well thought out before it was issued.
Prevention is better than cure. Look at it from this angle if a student in a particular school is infected that particular school will be closed down for a long tym look at the cost implication of that o. And also if the school is eventually reopend look at the stigma that will be placed on the school. The school owners should not look at the immediate effect but the long term , contries like leberia now do u think they will be able to conduct the nov/ dec waec? Both d specialist clinic and the hotel in PH now that has been closed down! What do expect dem to do. The private school owner should calm down this a good directive from d govt.
