We're talking about the huge amount of slo-mo styled fight scene in ONE movie and you are giving me top 10 randomly chosen best slo-mo moments from various films.
Beorn: You're just confused, misunderstanding yourself and switching sides more than a chameleon switches its color in a new environment.
Koice and I had been focused on one aspect of 300, you're the only one running around helter skelter with random angles to a simple topic.
Right from time, I have been standing on 2 points
1. The matrix has a better slow motion technique and is far more influential than that of 300.
2. 300 itself is nothing special. It was the first to abuse the use of slow motion in such a way but it was not executed in such an iconic way. Zack Snyder did better slow motion with Judge dredd and watchmen.
Beorn: Xxix, I don't know if America's narration of landing on the moon is truth or not, but it's ignorance on your part if you don't know by now that there have been several debates doubting its authenticity.
Even Iker Casillas brought up the issue about 2 years ago.
Beorn: Baba, watch The Matrix and 300 again, and then truthfully come here to shamelessly type that The Matrix had more slo-mo scenes than 300.
Even the person that said 300 had no stunning visuals emphasized IMMEDIATELY on its slo-mo scenes and said it took away 20 minutes of the film. When have anyone complained about The Matrix and his first complaint is too much slo-mo sequences?
Walahi, you dey fall my hands big time. Only a novice in movies would be debating this.
I was talking about the better technique in slow motion.
KoiceReloaded: To add to what I said earlier; in the first video of the "moon landing", the American flag wasn't limp as onewould expect of an object in an airless place, instead, it was moving in a motion reminiscent of a breeze brown flag. How can you explain that?
Don't ask questions, okay? Accept everything their media feeds you like a good little sheeple, why don't you. Mtchew.
A lot of history in America is founded on lies.
From Christopher Columbus to the assassination of Kennedy.
I just don't bother myself talking about it do that people wont assume that I'm a conspiracist.
How can anybody believe that Kennedys murder was solved? A president was killed and we are to believe than some senators and powerful politicians were not involved?
Beorn: Dude, go and sleep. You are typing fallacies right now. Dude, no top movie reviewing site would ever review 300 and forger it's Era-defining slo-mo scenes. What else is there to talk about in its fight scenes if not the slo-mo fight scenes?
Did you even read the link Koice dropped?
Many top 10 lists don't have 300 in it. 300 doesn't have the best slow mo or visual effects.
Watch mojo ( popular but don't respect them) put 300 at number 8 out of 10.
Cine fix, who put better reasoning behind their list didt pick 300 because they preferred watchmen and judge dredd among zack Snyders movies.

Era-defining wetin?
My guy, 300 irritated critics visually.
And for the link that koice dropped, it was trash. Nonsense exaggeration. Even in that link, it was pointed out that critics didn't like the overuse of green screen and effects.
Koice dropped HIS opinion on top 10 visually stunning movies of their generation. Both 300 and Matrix was on the list. There were no comparisons or hierarchy to rate which is more stunning. He's just listing them randomly and their impacts on other movies after them. He even explained the different influences both movies had in his initial post. Go check it out, it's still there.
Then Gmajor_ came online to say that 300 had no stunning visuals, that's when Koice tried to explain what influence a new perfectly created slowmo style of action sequences from 300 had on subsequent films like Spartacus: Gods of The Arena, Dredd remake etc. He's focusing on the slowmo fight style which wasn't so evident in any film before 300. It was so much thst it took 14 minutes of the entire film. State movies before 300 that had so much slowmo style of action in them like 300 before 300 came out.
It's during the debate that Koice tried to explain that Matrix had the style but 300 took to up a notch. There was never a comparison, just an explanation.
You're the one bringing up a comparison that's non-existent.
At bold, is that not a comparison?
Only a joker would claim that 300 took slow mo up a notch from the matrix.
KoiceReloaded: Obviously, your memory needs a revamp. Go and watch 300 again, bro. All the fight scenes were choke full of it. The slowmo emphasis on action flourishes made all the fight scenes very memorable.
About Judge Dredd... I can't recollect seeing any real slowmo on it, if at all. The remake on the other hand... the slowmo they used is reminiscent of 300.
I was talking about the Judge dredd remake. There was a drug that made people see thing in slow mo in that movie
Before 300, slow motion capture has never been used quite like that before. Matrix tried something like that, but it didn't catch on until Snyder applied the concept on 300. He improved the concept by focusing slowmo on specific action moments. The result; an eye popping and very stylish slowmo fight scenes visuals. It certainly left an impression.
KoiceReloaded: I thought you were yanking his chain, but my God, you were flipping serious!
- First and foremost, Matrix and 300 used slowmo differently. Where as 300 embellished on it, Matrix was matter of fact about it, mainly because it has a lot going on. Hence, when people think of Matrix, slowmo is usually not the first thought that pop into their head, where as 300 is synonymous with slowmo action scenes, for it's the loudest part of it.
- Second, Gizmodo is an unreliable source for this sort of thing. If you want a top 10 list look for Thrillist, Indiewire, Pastemagazine, and Esquire.
- Fourth, No one is equating Matrix to 300. They are two completely different movies
When people think slow mo, 300 is never the thought in anyone's head. It was not perfected in that movie. Even among Zack Snyders movies 300 ranks slowly. In fact cinefix on YouTube picked watchmen and judge dredd out of Zack Snyders movies and not 300.
When people think of slow motion, no one thinks of 300. The first they think of is the matrix bullet time. The technique is different and many films haven't still gotten it right.
My issue is that you are over hyping 300. I never forgot the slow motion scenes Iin Judge Dredd and the Matrix but i can barely remember 300. The only thing i remember from 300 was the king kicking the black guy into the abyss....not because of the slow mo but because of the dialogue.
Beorn: Look at the kind of site you're quoting. I wonder if you've ever heard of the site in your life till you Googled few minutes ago.
I'm not doubting about The Matrix revolutionizing about how modern films were made. That's not the bone of contention. I also know about the bullet time technique and how many cameras it took to achieve it; I'm saying that 300 had more of those slow motion scenes/techniques/visuals than The Matrix. It formed the foundation of ALL the action scenes in 300. You can't say the same for Matrix
So what is your point?
300 is not near one of the best examples of Zack Snyders slow motion technique.
Never put 300 and the matrix in the same sentence again.
Let me go and deal with Koice, the man that started this nonsense.
Since then movies like Sherlock Holmes, Last Man Standing, Dredd, Watchmen (also directed by Snyder) Troy, etc, have used it in their respective fight scenes. Heck, that style is the best part of Sherlock Holmes trilogy.
Every time I encounter fight scenes like that in random movies, the memory of 300 never fails to pop into my head. Suffice to say, I'll always associate slow motion capture fight scenes with 300.
Of which 300 is not even the best use of Zack Snyder's slo motion. The best was Judge Dredd and Watchmen. Apparently, he became better at it.
Before 300, there was hard boiled. A movie where some of the shootout scenes were in slow mo. On
Beorn: All these aggression doesn't change the fact. Even Alexistaiwo can testify about what I'm talking about. Koice has already explained what we meant and you agreed with him when you said "better", so why the blasphemy repetition? The slow motion visuals is the core of that movie and what made the movie stand out. I'm not trying to belittle The Matrix or its visuals, just pointing out that 300 had more perfected slow motion action depicted scenes than The Matrix
Out of ignorance, the man spoketh.....
Go and read about "bullet time" filming technique from the matrix.
300 visuals were even criticised by the critics.
You a comparing a film (the matrix) the revolutionised other films, to 300, a film that was panned by critics in its early release?
You are talking about slow motion and I will tell you that the matrix has one of the best or.the best slow motion techniques known to Hollywood.
Even in some top ten lists about slow motion scenes in movies, 300 does not make it. Matrix is always in such lists.
Beorn: The slow motion action scenes visuals in 300 was more catchy, captivating and dope than that of The Matrix. The slow motion fight visuals is the most breathtaking aspect of 300 for me, not even the plot. Synder definitely focused on that aspect and made sure it stood out the most in that movie.
Sharrap. Shut your mouth. Do you want thunder to blast you?
Beorn: Without watching any of those seasons except Arrow season 1, I knew they'd all suck. I can't even imagine myself watching an episode of any series in that list.

pryme: Oh? Am sorry your Weirdness, I didn't know you were a Martian. Pls try to understand we primitive creature are just too dumb for your advance race, and am not trying to be sarcastic here.
Why do humans always equate aliens to martians.
Have you even considered that aliens could look exactly like humans but with a different bone density due to a different gravitational force on a different planet?
KoiceReloaded: Well, it's visually appealing, just not very memorable. I was more impressed by Tilda Swinton and Cumberbatch's acting than the VFX tbh.
My point exactly. All I truly remember was Cumberbatchs swag and the bald woman.
KoiceReloaded: Funny? Nah, more like _fucked up... and bit of a mind_fuck.
Dude travelled back in time, just to improve his womanizing skills, and sure he got what he wanted, but he also created a time paradox in the sense that became his own stepfather and fathered his own stepbrother. Let that sink in for a moment. That's messed up on so many levels.
The last line drew a chuckle from me though.
I know that it is bleeped up. But the guy's douchebag character is soooooo funny.
I have just been watching sci fi shorts on YouTube on my free time. I swear, some are so creative
alexistaiwo: E be like say car engine don knack your head for that your spare parts shop?
It's not an easy job. Do you know that one customer asked for 10 rims. These were big rims that were stocked on an industrial rack. Can you imagine me with my skinny nerdy arms trying to carry those heavy rims down, one by one?
