This weekend was for the kids.

Goosebumps 2 - not bad at all 7/10

Smallfoot - manageable storyline, cool animation 7/10

A wrinkle in Time - almost original concept, nice dialogues though and good lessons for the kids 8/10

Teen Titans Go To The Movies - the usual guffaws 7/10

The Legend of Hallowaiian - Grade D animation, but hey, the kids loved it 6/10

I hereby score myself 10/10 for suffering through these movies with them kids.

We are Dads, that's what we do... grin
It's good to hear that you spend quality time with your kids.

I just hope you don't teach them to discriminate.

It would be funny if one turns gay. grin grin

When you are a product of straight parents you will understand the folly your disturbed mind is distributing, so who will continue Procreation for your gay cousins.
So now your argument is let some people be gay and some should be hetrosexuals.
You are a clown.
Until gay couples begin to produce kids, you have no argument.
So straight couples who are infertile are not natural too?

You can't beat a dead horse, bro. When that _shithead equated pedophilia with homosexualism, I knew he's a lost cause right there and then. I recognized immediately the risk of reasoning with someone like that, so I ignored him. When you fight with a mad person, you're gonna get dirty, it's a guarantee. There's no point arguing with someone that thinks like that. He called Beorn narrow-minded, an ironic accusation coming from the same guy that equated gays with pedophiles. He couldn't see that he's actually the one that is narrow-minded... which is kinda fascinating when you think about it. His delusions of grandeur is a spectacle. grin

I dunno man... I think it's best not to engage with homophobes. Just leave them be. You can't win this war, man. We can only hope that maybe one day, progress will finally consume their antiquated mentality. Cheers.

JeromeBlack, just move on from the topic, at least till another time. Wasting your points on uneducated people is a tiring job.

I actually decided to excuse myself from the debate when someone who's supposed to be educated, someone with a functioning brain and access to Google was insinuating that if homosexualism is allowed, humans will stop existing in future. I literally froze for few seconds wondering how someone can be so ignorant to the point of proudly parroting stupid statements without logic. It's shocking. Like homosexualism will suddenly turn heterosexuals to homosexuals. As if it's easy for a straight man to just wake up one morning and automatically become gay by snapping his fingers.

The unenlightened fella probably didn't even know people have been gay even before his parents were born and yet till now humans are still reproducing. Maybe he thinks homosexualism started in 20th century/in recent times. Some people are so dumb, their dumbness can knock you out just imagining how they got to their of stupidity.

Let the issue be. Let he who's chosen to be foolish, wallow in his foolishness.
I was truly surprised at how ignorant some educated people could be on this subject. I guess you are right. No need to kill myself with people that don't want to learn.

Eyes Wide Open-

The opening scene with a _naked woman presenting her well formed buttocks to the camera was a foreshadowing of things to come. This movie is sexual. When I got tired of fast forwarding and zooming past the sex scenes, I gritted my teeth and kukuma endured because these scenes are inextricably linked with the plot.

A very engaging movie, with some very creepy undertones. When you deeply examine the dark underbelly of society, you'd be shocked at what is revealed. The ending is lovely because it open ended. We just have to guess if the major events were truly a charade and it's aftermath, mere coincidence. I have my own interpretation.

8/10. I would have given it a higher score but the excessive depiction of sexual acts kind of turned me off. It's an erotic thriller, mind you, but that doesn't mean I have to like all the fvckery that went on there. Pun intended.
Eyes wide shut?

The last few pages of this thread highlights the problems we have in Nigeria

-Ignorance caused by religion (and sometimes lack of exposure)
-Too many useful idi0ts
-Aggressive "I don't care attitude"

-Ignorance caused by religion
We can see how mentally deficient some people are because of religion. These are otherwise educated people who start talking like illiterates on certain controversial topics. For instance, gay rights. Imagine someone that is educated comparing homosexuality to pedophilia.

-Too many useful idi0ts
Going by the argument on this thread we can see that the number of homophobes outnumber the sensible people. It is very difficult to fight against a majority. This problem also extends to politics. Our wicked political leaders know that there will always be hungry fools in the masses that will vote for them because of bags of rice. They knew that they could fool a lot of dumb religious Nigerians to be happy with 14 years imprisonment for gays so that we ignore how they are stealing money.

-Aggressive "I don't care attitude"
I don't know why many Nigerians cannot have a logical debate. They cannot reason and see the other person's point of view. The worst is when some know that they are wrong but will dig into their illogical beliefs out of spite. I don't know why many of us cannot use logic to admit when we are wrong.

Are Kano and Jigawa the only states that implement sharia law? How come all you've stated revolve around those states. Or you've being constructively narrow minded just to flare your ignorant opinion everywhere?.

If I'm too ignorant to discuss with, then it's certain you're too myopic to even reason with. Mr local champion.
See this clown. Below are the differences between your personal story and a fact-checked news article from a journalist;

-there were numerous witnesses to the event of the destruction of the beer bottles. You are talking for yourself
-there is picture evidence for the destruction. You lack any concrete evidence for your story
-there is a quote from the head of sharia police confirming the destruction.

That aside, I only need one example to prove my point that Sharia law is impeding our freedoms enshrined in the constitution. I gave you two instances where a sharia state went above the law by stopping people from drinking beer.

Your reply is called "whataboutism"- instead of accepting you are wrong, you went about asking for other sharia states. Oga, that is a red herring I am not intersted in.

facts propounded by who or whom? Did you ask yourself how many sharia states this so called destruction of beer truck happened?

I mean, if Sokoto state, the very sit of Islam in Nigeria isn't even doing this nonsense, what does that tell you about these states that destroy beer trucks.

I hope you know the links you posted were personal experience from individuals?
Wait what? Are you purposely being foolish or what?

The vanguard newspaper site (BBC carried the story too) reports the destruction of beer bottles carried by trucks and you are here calling it "personal experience"? The report that had a quote from the head of the sharia police and pictures of the destroyed bottles? Do you know the meaning of facts?

The fact is clear; drink alcohol in Kano and Jigawa at your own risk.

Those who wrote that constitution clearly have an agenda that's why they put sharia law there. Beside, the federal government have never accepted any religion is the state religion. It is only northern state government who do this nonsense.

A non Muslim can't be trialed under sharia law. That is something that can't happen. Non Muslims living in the north have freedom to practice whatever religion they believe in. I've lived in the north before so I know this.
It is clear that you are ignorant on this issue and do not want to learn. Please google "sharia law violates the Nigerian Constitution".

sharia law is a violation of our Constitution when that same constitution enshrined sharia law? Na wa oh.

You speak of marrying under age girls being allowed in the north. Hope you know Muslims are not the only ones living in the north?.

Sharia law is applicable to Muslims, so it allows Muslims marry under age girls. But still, the Nigeria constitution is superior to that Sharia law that's why Senator yerimas bill that advocate marrying 13 year Olds was not accepted.

In the south here, marrying a person who is under age is a criminal offense. Plain and simple.
The constitution clearly states that the government should adopt no religion as a state religion. Secularism. What do you think Sharia law is?

What about human rights? Freedom of and from religion? Does that not mean that a non-muslim cannot be tried under sharia law? But they are actually tried on under sharia law.
