ineco: those of u that u stay outside lagos, think very well before u accept the offer, because transport alone and the stress that is there, i was posted to UBA last 2 weeks, and did the interview but to cut short the story, they sent to me yesterday that they wont take me that i didnt did very well, then if u posted to UBA, and u stay outside lagos and at the end u did make it, how will u feel ? remember transport alone and the stress. so think before u act, i am not trying to discorange anybody but advice. i dont even think that they take anybody in my set or even if they take,it will not more than one or two person. that is my advice,i think FG force the bank to posted ppl to them because i think its their willing because the rate of rejecting ppl like me,i thougth i answer wat they asked me but, look at wat happen at the end. I cant believe a graduate wrote this. I see why they rejected you. |

worry 359: Qatar migrant workers 'treated like animals' - Amnesty This is the reality for African migrant workers in Arab countries! There are NO streets paved with gold! Read this article before moving! Amnesty says migrant workers are often subjected to non-payment of wages, dangerous working conditions and squalid accommodation. The workers said they were "treated like cattle", working up to 12 hours a day, seven days a week, including during Qatar's hot summer months. Some migrant workers were threatened with penalty fines, deportation or loss of income if they did not show up to work even though they were not being paid, Amnesty said.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-24980013 why did you change it to African migrants when the article clearly stated Nepalese? You dey for house dey project animosity when you didnt even read the article! |

lastly,if possible, add the phone contacts of friends & family members you have in the UAE, so that in -case they desperately need you, they can contact your point man in the UAE, a forumite based in Nigeria did same few weeks ago and used another forumite based here, he was shortlisted for a position, and guess which number they called, it was the UAE cell contact, and the forumite based here called the the other guy in Nigeria, who eventually called the company and they are waiting for his arrival.... Thanks Oga.but about having a contact in UAE on my c.v is out if reach for me now as i dont have any body there. what do you propose, as i'm about working on my c.v. |

hahahahahahah ...............no issue my brother,l am glad you have read through the thread, l am certain with the infos you do have now, the sky will be your stepping stone on arrival, we are here to help and assist, my joy is fulfilled when l see a young Nigerian male/female reaches his/her full potential, and whatever little contribution l can do to make that happen,why not. your help is unquantifiable and invaluable.i believe many people can attest to that. @Justi when going for these walk in interviews, shey the dress code should be very corporate abi? like serious tie and custom fitted suits for the guys? @others if you are searching quickly through the threads here is a shortcut. For example you want to go to page 60, 80 etc just replace the number at the end of this link https://www.nairaland.com/1190697/qatar-uae-general-visa-enquiries/193 to any number of page you want to go to. for example page 45 will become https://www.nairaland.com/1190697/qatar-uae-general-visa-enquiries/45. hope it helps |

@oga and justi4jesu
I have taken the important points in all the thread and i'm good to begin. But now my only findings i couldnt get is the format of a simplified c.v. Though i had already arranged my own using a format i had online, but i think its best i take a peek at your format.a friend of mine once told me to follow those who are up the ladder, so please help me with the format you used in your c.v. I have searched all the threads here but couldnt find a format. |

YES, YES, AND YES, in capital letters, those of us who reside here know what is happening, don't get it twisted, you might arrive here and not give any brown envelop to anybody,but, from what l have seen so far, the guys from this forum who secured jobs and what they confided in me, and my close friends/associates working in the UAE in diffferent sectors of the economy, majority gave brown envelops, l guess you might be new here, l will suggest you try and read backwards on this thread,the issue has been dealt with extensively.
Again, one of my very close friend on this thread by name ( Optimisticgondy ) whose siblings arrived about a month ago, 3 of them all gave brown envelops before they secured jobs, click on his signature profile and read what he said about his siblings, one good thing l have vowed to always do on this thread is to report issues the way they are, l would have mentioned some names on this thread who also gave various envelops to secure jobs,but, l will like to protect peoples privacy in an open forum, so prepare your mind towards it.The UAE is very expensive, the Indians seems to run/control the economy and their second name is CORRUPTION. Enjoy your day. Boss, i'm going to read back and take notes as you said. Now i know there will be help. Thank You. |

It was suggested some weeks back that due to the general cost of living in the UAE, accommodation, food, transportation, extension of your visa if necessary and sometimes brown envelop issues, $2000 will be ideal, l will personally recommend you hold at least $2000 to be on the safe side because you cannot predict the direction the pendulum might swing to in your job search, so it is good to be over prepared for the unexpected. wow you mentioned brown envelop issues? does this happen in dubai? when finding work? |
Travel › Re: QATAR And UAE General Visa Enquiries by jerrymania(m): 2:03pm On Nov 15, 2013 |
justi4jesu: Yes sure monchouchou, thats just the fact about it. There is nothing wrong in accepting a menial job and at the same time keep looking for a better job that suits your degree and experience.. because you will be At more advantage than people applying from far countries but its not advicable to leave your well and better paid job back home and come to Uae and be eventually disappionted. But if you insist then you can take the menial job and keep searching for better opportunities. So thats life. to be quite safe and sure,how much higher do i need to carry on myself to survive in the 2 months in dubai before i can get a job God willing? |
