Chairman it's not by the size of the mAh, but the processor in it. I use redmi 5plus (4000mah) and tecno L8plus (5050mah). I can tell you that redmi 5plus is better. I use Ntel 4g in the redmi 5plus and I don't put off my data, which means that my phone is always on 4G network and yet it takes me all day.

Probably next year or before the end of the year if they see fit to upgrade it but nothing is certain. The most important update for xiaomi is the MIUI updates, so long you keep getting it you would be fine.
