FarmTech: Hello guys, i have 2 questions:TME 419 is 12 months. should not stay more than 2 years |
aguiyi: Ok thanks. I will do as advised. What's the best time to apply fertilizer and what quantity are you referring toSite selection Choose an accessible well-drained fertile soil. Planting and planting material 1. Planting starts in April and can be extended to October. 2. The quantity recommended for 1 ha is 60 bundles of cassava stem. 3. Stem cuttings 25 cm long should be planted at a spacing of 1 m x 1 m. 4. Maintain 100% planting rate by replacing dead or nonviable stems. The first Application recommended is 2 weeks after planting. for an Hectare, 200kg bags is recommended. That is 4 bags of 50kg It should be applied using a match box as measurement per plant. The fertilizer should be covered The following fertilizers and their rate/ha are recommended • NPK 15:15:15–12 (50 kg) bags • NPK 20:10:10–9 (50 kg) bags • NPK 12:12:17–15 (50 kg) bags Apply fertilizer in a ring, 6 cm wide and 10 cm from the plant or broadcast with care around the plant, making sure the fertilizer does not touch the stem or leaves. kart042000: While in the UK, most oranges I took where mostly not as juicy as the ones gotten from Nigeria. The pineapples where mostly sour unlike what is obtained from Nigeria/Cotonou.Fruits are available almost everywhere in Nigeria. Getting the right and continuous source of supply, quality and good one are the issue you will have to work on. Each locality have specific fruits that are common to their environment I will advice you get the neccesary requirement for imports from the intended country. Get their quality standard requirement for the specific fruits you want. Make arrangement for all the necessary papers in Nigeria. Quarantine, Nigerian Exporting Promotion Council, Nigerian Exporters Group and what ever its deem necessary. Fruits and Vegetables conditions are very stringent because of their high susceptibility to disease |
kart042000: It takes about four days to travel from Nigeria to Namibia. Therefore transporting the fruits and vegetables with a fridge truck makes it doable. Will it be possible for you exporting the fruits by using cargo planes? These will saves you a lot of stress and the time spent on the road. Nigeria is richly blessed with assorted fruits and exporting of fresh product would be a very good source of income for its citizens. |
aguiyi: Enugu statePlease let me make some calls and see if we can get someone around there or locate the ADPs. I will get back to you by tomorrow by Gods grace |
aguiyi: 1acres sirPlease visit the Agricultural Development Project in your area. They have the list of the farmers that are using or have used TME 419. My contact is in Ibadan and believe its cost effective for we smallholders to source for in the ADP office near to us. Which state are you so we can locate the ADPs in that area. Their service is free. They sell TME for N300 -N400 per bundle |
FarmTech: .That will be nice. Lands are very cheap in the villages/rural areas. It might be a few distance to the city. One needs to know the chiefs and the bales. In the South West, you can find cheap lands in the villages. I want to believe same thing happens all over the country. Its getting across to the right people Relocation to a new area may be quite expensive. I would advise sourcing for cheap one in the environment that you are used to. It will be cheaper and cost effective no matter how |
aguiyi: please can you link me to your source for the TME 419 also ,can you share pix of what it looks like. What's the size of the farm land that you need the TME 419 cuttings for? |
