Leopantro: Chai, i weep for degenerative pigmentation called melanin ( black Africans). can't you see it looks like a taxi reflected from the other side ( behind) the camera. why is it moving inthe opposite direction from every other vehicle. you can even see that little advert stuff that is on top of the car. Jesus H Christ, the reflection of the other glass can be seen.
Obsession sees only the object of its madness. It believes everything it wants to believe, questions nothing. I know that area of Ikotun, there's no road on the other side for taxi to drive on to cause that reflection. I may be wrong as I haven't been there since 2012, maybe a road has been constructed to enable a taxi drive in that direction. I also do not believe that is the appearance of an angel as the Bible describes a different form. |

Xevioso: Wow, that's horrific. I feel incredibly sorry for you, that's not how a society is supposed to work.
I'm under no illusions that this is an easy problem to solve, but people do need to ask for the right thing as well. What strikes me is that the expectation of fuel subsidies almost sounds like the Nigerian public saying not "Stop stealing our taxes" ut "If you're going to steal our taxes, we want to get some too" Whilst that might seem only fair, it means even if there are honest politicians they don't even have the funds to clean the system. Now you truly understand how pathetic the situation is. Doing what is right almost translates to doing the wrong thing and vice versa. |
Politics › Re: FG May Increase Petrol Price To N180 Per Litre by Jethrolite(m): 6:05pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
Xevioso: My grandfather was, yes. Is this important? Have you decided you deserve your poverty and your corruption?
Nigeria is getting the government you demand. If you demand the government makes petrol cheap they will have no economic space to do anything else. If you decide that government corruption is inevitable only the corrupt will go into the government.
Nigerians need to start from the premise that when someone is accused of corruption, or you know someone has stolen, just call the police. Brother, sister, father, mother, brother, sister, whoever.
If you do not strive for a better Nigeria, who will? I have gotten to the point where I trust no one to get that done, everyone is out road make money. Corruption eats too deep. The political class are not Nigeria's problem but Nigerians themselves. Your third paragraph made me laugh, that Nigeria could not be far away though but can one person demand for such? I also share your view but then, I have to face reality. The situation is virtually hopeless. When those who can manage the system try coming in, they are quickly paralysed or flushed out of the system again. I have thought of what I can do for my country to make it a better place but you can not help a person that does not see its situation as a problem. You will make a fool of yourself. Nigerians have been so deprived that they don't even know what they ought to enjoy by default and when you try to make these demands from government on their behalf, you are quickly labelled as trying to be too smart or your help isn't even required. Take this for example, 2 years ago I was among the awardees for the YES-P programme but the loan conditions were too stiff and it made no sense for a new business to be funded theough such channel. I was a bit experienced with business financing and decided we needed to protest the loan conditions and make the government convert the loans to grants or remove the guarantee clause. I started a national campaign and reached out to all awardees to unite against the loan conditions. A northerner who was connected to the presidency arranged a meeting for me to lay down our complaints and requests. I flew to Abuja and spent 4 days in an hotel before I was able to see the Presidential aide. He gave me only one condition to fulfil before he brought the matter to the President and that was for all awardees to sign in agreement that my claims were true. He requested at least 60% of awardees signed but I wasn't able to even get 10% to sign. The excuse was that the money would eventually come and those of us who signed won't receive the money. To the best of my knowledge I'm not sure any awardee received the loan. How far can a person go if there's no unity among the oppressed? I've thought about Nigeria's situation and I've made my decision and I know in due time I'll achieve it. |

Xevioso: So get angry about the fact that the government is not building refineries and power stations. If the government builds power stations and refineries, charges ₦500/l for petrol, and takes the ₦320/l profit and puts it into free healthcare, education, roads, jobs, anti-corruption you are the winner.
If the government takes your tax money builds nothing and gives it Chevron and Total year, after year, after year... You may pay ₦170/l at the pump, but you and your family will be the losers forever. Are you Nigerian? Sorry I am asking and it's because even if the government gets to the point of making a profit ₦320/L, everything will still be pilfered with almost nothing to show in social development. I have gone past being angry, that's just very unproductive use of energy. |

all these toddlers with access to the internet... Lol, I was developing a national competition for the game until I discovered the bulk of players are broke and can't pay a fee to get the opportunity of winning a larger sum. I don't play the game personally. Believing Nigerians have adjusted to the new price easily points you out as a minor who doesn't know what it takes to fuel a car and running 2 generators daily for 12 hours. When daddy and mummy stops giving you allowance, you will start to understand these things. |
Politics › Re: FG May Increase Petrol Price To N180 Per Litre by Jethrolite(m): 1:38pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
ivandragon: increasing the price is not the issue, after all, Nigerians have already adjusted to buying fuel at between N200-N250 per litre over the last couple of days...
the issue is the lies, obfuscation, buck-passing & refusal to acknowledge the glaring truth on subsidy payment...
from the statement of Kachikwu, it is obvious this administration is confused & only looking for whom to lay the blame on. Speak for yourself. If you think others are only fueling 950va generator like you then you are wrong. |

Buhari Rides Much More Expensive Mercedes-Benz Than GEJ
While GEJ was riding an ordinary Mercedes-Benz S 350 of $135,000 (₦27million), PMB prefers much more expensive & luxury model – Mercedes-Maybach S600 of $258,000 (₦81million).

I am not. Blame your own moral upbringing. The typical Nigerian is fraudulent and there is nothing you will tell me to change my stand. Every now and then you meet a Nigerian that is honest. I know how many Nairalanders I've dealt with in millions and I've never met them or even know what they look like and I know scoundrels I've also met here that were out to dupe from the very beginning. It is really hard to see a person who can write for so long on nairaland and be coherent with proper English. What I can tell you is your ex never made it, N1m is not money in Nigeria of today, also you shouldn't hope the prosperity of a loved one will rub off on you.
The typical Nigerian is deceitful and will exploit whoever is involved in any form of dealings with them.
You are smart, I urge you to work out your own prosperity to afford you the life of your dreams. Achieving that life should be dependent on you and you alone. |
