Good morning friends I hope we all slept well.. Please I sincerely need a mentor I'm a first timer. It seems like all was going well with my birds without mortality or health issues at about 6weeks until I got a wrong info to feed them grower, they lost weight I've had a sudden huge mortality and a lot of sickness this past weeks and my birds haven't been able to recover weight loss. It seems like I'm doing a lot of wrong things. I'm already running a lose but I don't mind if I'll be taught and put through thoroughly. I'll take this as a lesson. Please who will be my mentor?? I promise to be a good student. Thanks. |
Redomi:I have to bring my predicament here because I've given the drugs for coccidia as the vet instructed and I've exhausted it, most of the birds are eating now but I still have some of them who are still inactive, they don't eat or drink, some still have brown droppings, some watery and a whitish dropping. I have 2/3 who make this noise like they wish to clear their throat and they bring out mucus and they are shaky when they stand, like the ground is shaking or they are scared to place their feets on the floor My question is, should I go ahead to deworm irrespective of all these or find treatment to these first? |
Ginaz:Okay, I'll have to watch their intake tomorrow when I replace their feed with just Vita though thing is, they are barely interested in eating no matter how you call on them or make the feed look interesting. |
noeloge82:Okay, thanks a lot |
chukskafor:Oh, thanks It's disheartening truly, considering I barely lost any from onset only to suddenly lose a huge number in two days. I did cry sef Okay, thanks for your suggestions. Thanks again |
Redomi:They're in an enclosed pen, but I sometimes let them out, especially when I intend disinfecting the place. Water is almost always available for them This past few days I let them stay out through out the day because I thought probably the pen has become stuffy for them due to the weather I'm currently using Vita finisher though I mix with pkc, feed is always made always but I still come back to meet the feed same way. I feed at about 6:40am, go to check their water by 12/1pm and refill feeds of the ones losing weight and about 6:30pm to feed and fix lamp and send them in. I last gave lasota 5weeks ago, I dewormed the week after lasota was administered. Though last week when I visited the shop where I get drugs and complained to them, a vet was contacted and he said I treat coccis(5days), deworm and finally give lasota. |
chukskafor:With regards to this post, I remembered complaining to the house that my birds were losing weights and barely eat. Last week I lost 19 birds of 9weeks old. Some has tract of blood in there dropping, some were pooing just water and white film, one even looked like it poo it's intestines. Though I treated coccis a week before. I was those to repeat the treatment again as it wasn't sufficient, which I have been doing for the past 4days but my challenge right now is the sounds some of the birds make, more like they have cough. They bring out mucus from their mouth and nose and struggle to breath. And they still don't eat. Please I need suggestions |
[quote author=Redomi post=96259995]Check those chicks to see if lice is feasting on their body. BTW, when was the last time you give them Lasota?[/quote I treated lasota 4weeks ago I did check their bodies yesterday, couldn't find anything on them |
Redomi:I'm currently treating that, though I give them multivitamin in the morning and afternoon (considering they barely eat) and cidiatreat at night This evening while observing them, one was so quite and just seating at a place even when I brought it out in the open, while I try to raise it, it's poo was practically water |
Redomi:Please what do you do if your birds seem inactive, I complained about the recent lose in weight, I had to sort them base on size, I noticed the smaller ones barely eat or drink water, they just seat at a corner, most times i have to talk and bring them close to their feeder for them to eat, they just touch and leave it. This morning I noticed 2-3 poos with a trace of blood and red worm-like stuff but couldn't pinpoint from which bird yet |
NE555:I didn't get this message please. What do you want me to send to your mail? |
jidestroud:Okay, thanks |
jfkenny:Thing is, I've always been feeding them top starter, but someone said I should switch to grower which I did last two weeks, due to scarcity of feed and it's rising price, I had to mix the feed with pkc, hence their poo became darker and sort of sandy. They're active though but I noticed they don't eat it with much enthuasism as they do before. This past 3days, I went back to feeding them top grower mash without missing to see if their will be changes, but it's not easy feeding just that considering how much they consume and price of feed, so far, their poop is back to normal, though some still stool watery poo Someone recommended I get them fast growth to boost them, another person said boosters isn't good for them. I just don't know how to remedy the situation |
Good evening house, trust you're all good. Please I need advice. My birds are 7weeks old but have been loosing weight since last week. Please what do I do? |
