THE Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has condemned the violence that broke out yesterday during the last leg of Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s tour of the local government areas, blaming the violence on members of opposition parties, who it claimed infiltrated its ranks. Speaking yesterday, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Wale Shadare, said the opposition parties, apparently overwhelmed by the success of the governor’s meet-the-people tour and distribution of letters of appointment to teachers, embarked on the violence to embarrass the governor and take the shine off the “successful tour”.

The Supreme Court has ordered the immediate reinstatement of Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Sanni Danladi, who was impeached by the state House of Assembly in October 2012.

In a unanimous judgment, the Supreme Court held that the impeachment panel set up by the House of Assembly to investigate the allegations against Danladi violated his rights to fair hearing.

Ahead of 2015 election,no fewer than five hundred associations and political groups from the three senatorial districts of Niger state on Tuesday endorsed and adopted Alhaji Mohammed Umar Nasko as their preferred candidate for the governorship race come 2015.
