Properties / Re: Stubborn Tenants Refuse To Leave And Don't Pay Rent! by Jimali: 8:24pm On Oct 30, 2011
A new way out of this long drawn out mess will be to sell the property and the new landlord will simply eject them by coming up with a new contract with a new terms of engagement. that way you do not loose out without collecting rent, you may use the money realised from the sale in purchasing another property in a better locale. I did that a few years back and it was sweet victory to me.
Family / Re: Nigerian Lawyer Charged With Beating 7-year-old Son In Minnesota by Jimali: 3:41am On Jul 01, 2011
What a shame that the unruly  nature of the Nigerian Lawyer towards his own son was displayed outside. Why will a so called professional who should be very abreast of the law be so stupid to persist in drinking and therefore get drunk beyond the legal alcohol limit ? why did he think that pummelling the child in the back seat or floor of a MercedesBenz will be an applauded way of discipline? the fact that most likely he may face jail time and felony as well as loose his legal license to practice lawwill affect the life of his family and himself. I hope the legal problems he is now facing will serve as a deterant to other like minded Nigerians who think discipline means pummelling and screaming on a kid or spouse to think twice and find a better and more effective way to discipline kids.

Politics / Re: Pictures Of Policemen Fighting In Lagos by Jimali: 12:38am On Nov 14, 2010
lor=#000099][/color]In any civilized society the Police ensure the safety of the citizenry but in Ajegunle (A surburb in Lagos state -Nigeria) the police endanger the lives of the citizens by fighting and holding onto their guns that unfortunately are directed at the passersby. Please the DPO Ajegunle Princint as well as The Commisioner of Police Affairs in Lagos state with the active cooperation of the Inspector General of Police should simply take these photographic evidence with them and within a week complete investigation of these miscrants in police uniforms and mete onto them the due punishment for the public endangerment and disgrace of the police force with their public affray. IG of police over to you. Let this be the start of the promised cleaning of the police force.
Health / Re: Lagos Approves 75% Conmess For Doctors by Jimali: 12:21am On Nov 14, 2010
What will be wrong in implementing 100% of CONMESS with a built in factor of Inflation that negates the need for frequent strikes? This can also be implemented to all cadres of workers, This will reduce the perchant for strikes or industrial actions in the entity that was amalgamated by Lord Lugard called Nigeria. A government responsive to the electorates will at least provide the basic necessities for a decent society. My take on this is that both the electorates and the Government deserve each other hence the blatant stealing of funds by the government officials and the subsequent suffering of the masses. : embarassed

Food / Re: Whale In Lagos(with Pics) by Jimali: 10:20pm On Nov 07, 2010
Why all the vexed debates and posturing on this reality that is common to Naija? Nigeria has always been and remains a state where the unwritten law is Buyers beware or eaters beware, you buy merchandise or eat food from all sources at your own risk. You do not need the government or another man to tell you what to eat or not to eat. we all have some sense or moral judgement as well as what each of us can stomach. The people eating the dead and maybe rotten whale meat may find it a delicacy and may not suffer from any ill effect. so also those that do not eat also do well for themselves. Life is full of ups and downs and we all have to take risks or remain stationary. the people who ate the whale meat or sold the whale meat were only taking a gamble and were aware of the slogan" Eaters beware, eat at your own risk". please NL 's stop all the name calling. it never breeds for a sensible and progressive discussion.
Family / Re: For Nigerian Mothers Who Gave Birth Abroad by Jimali: 12:09am On Oct 13, 2010
Did the couples involved in this disagreement court each other? Did they both agree to bring the kids into this world? did they ever discuss how and where they will raise their children? Even if the mother inlaw (Grandmom) was involved in the decisions before they were married, is she going to keep ruling the house from day to day? If the Grandmom did a good work raising the father of these children, then she should not be dictating what happens in this home in New Jersey. The only reason she may be thinking the son is not doing a good work with impacting naija culture into the twins is because she (Grandmom) did a yeow mans job and is tring to make corrections by raising the twins. She may again create another disaster. THE CHILDREN NEED TO BE PROTECTED FROM INDECISIVE PARENTS. IF YOU GET MARRIED AND BROUGHT CHILDREN TO THIS WORLD, DO NOT PASS THE CHILDREN OFF TO SOMEONE ELSE TO RAISE EVEN IF THAT SOMEONE IS YOUR MOTHER OR MOTHER INLAW.
