Of course, nobody should be under any illusions that exercise will solely carve out that demi-god physique that makes heads turn. However, exercise cannot be discounted.A holistic approach will achieve it.
If you exercise and don't get results, it is possible you're not exercising properly, eating right, sleeping well, or you have a sick genetic code.Well, the last one would apply to building fat free muscles.
It could also be that you've hit a plateau, and your body doesn't progress exercise-wise any longer. So, you need to shock the body out of its rut or comfort zone.
I'm in my 4th decade; and I've been exercising, by God's grace, since July 1997 without fail.
From my years of practice and research, I've helped people who are 'obedient' to lose weight.A synergy of exercise, decoded supplements, and tinkering of lifestyle has always done it.
People train wrong. They focus on the poverty of aerobics, which offers little in the way of efficient and sustainable expenditure of calories...

African women are beautiful! That's indisputable and Nigeria women will always be among the top beautiful women in Africa. I've traveled around and if I'm to rate, Ethiopians women will come first but when it comes to butts, hips, and curves, Tanzania women are generally super endowed! When I first arrived Dar Es Salaam, it was all I could do to not break my neck by continuous turning it around. I was glad I'm married and came here with my wife otherwise...
These are random pictures of Tanzanian women I collected. Believe me, these butts are real. These represent the vast majority of their women. Whether big or lepa almost all of them have enough butts and hips. I think Butt pads business here will be bad business here.
So Naija guys, if you like big butts and hips, plan a trip to Dar. My Naija sis dem weh no get assenal, take consolation in the fact that you can buy any size!

Health / Why Exercise Is Futile For Weight Loss! by jkingx(m): 9:46am On Oct 20, 2015
http://bluestocker.com/why-exercise-is-futile-for-weight-loss/

Have you ever tried exercising for weight loss? Chances are you have and got discouraged at some point and quit! I know many people who have done just that. Matter of facts, I have too. It was August of that year and I decided it was time to exercise for all the benefits, especially for weight loss! I didn’t actually have weight to lose but I had to get rid of that belly that was beginning to bulge from under my T-shirts before it get out of control. ‘Six pack for Christmas’ was my goal. So I got a gym bag and filled it up with everything a guy could need in the gym, signed up at well-equipped fitness center and an expensive one at that, and I hit the gym! That annual subscription was wasted and I didn’t get my six-packs by that Christmas! I remember hearing a story about a fitness club member who walked into the gym at the beginning of a year to find the place full with people. He had to wait to get machines to work out with. When he voiced out his observation to one of the instructors and ask why the gym was so full, the instructor told him, “Oh! Don’t worry sir, this are the New Year resolution people, most of them will quit after a few weeks”.

WHY YOU WILL NEVER LOST WEIGHT BY EXERCISING ALONE!

Exercise alone is nearly almost, useless for losing weight! Don’t get me wrong. Exercise is great. The benefits includes;

Helps in growing new brain cell and overall mental activities
Reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and some cancers
Makes you feel good
Strengthens your muscles and bones
Increase your general well-being
You expect weight loss to be first on that list. Right? That’s what we all believe but it is not so. Sure, exercise can lead to weight loss but in itself for the purpose of weight loss, it is an exercise in futility. That is why we all get discouraged soon and give up.

Let me tell you why. People exercise for weight loss because they believe they burn calories during exercise. Seem like a simple logic; exercise, lose weight! But it doesn’t seem to work because we overestimate calories we burn during exercise and either genuinely underestimate our calories intake or denied what we are actually consuming daily. For instance, an hour on the treadmill burns about 500 calories! Just one meal at any fast food restaurant after workout will about wipe that out, not to talk of all the meals and drinks you have in one day. And remember, exercise make you tired and hungry thereby making you eat more! For people who drink for instance, a few drinks on a typical evening or weekend will load you with calories more that your entire exercise in a week burnt out. Many times, I’ll finish working out, shower, change and straight to hang out and have a few beers.

Does this means you shouldn’t exercise if you want to lose weight? No, no, no! It means exercise alone will never make you lose weight or belly fat.

What cause weight gain including Belly Fat?

There are two factors which causes weigh gain and both has to do with hormones! INSULIN and CORTISOL also known as adrenaline. Contrary to most people’s belief that eating fatty food will cause weight gain, fats ironically, is one macro-nutrient that has no effect on insulin.

EATING TOO MUCH CARBOHYDRATE.
Carbs

We hear folks always talking about avoiding sugar, meaning refined sugar we add to tea, coffee or in beverages, never realizing that carbohydrates food are the main source of sugar supply for the body. When we eat carbohydrates in whatever form, our bodies breaks it down to SUGAR! Now when there is more sugar in our system that the body needs, the hormone insulin comes in. Secreted by the pancreas, it goes into action; convert the excess sugar and store them as fat! Interestingly, one of the places insulin seem most happy to store the fats is in the belly region! The more carbs, you eat, the more insulin released, the more fat that’s stored, the more weight you gain! Most people associate the word insulin with diabetes and diabetics but it is always active in all of us. Only thing is with diabetics, the body is unable to produce enough insulin.

STRESS
Stressed

The second reason is stress. When we get stressed, the body get into the primitive defense mode; fight or flight! It releases another hormone called Cortisol or adrenaline. This is another signal for the body to store fats! So the more you allow yourself to be stressed up for whatever reason, the more your body will be storing fat! Mind you, there is also the fact that stress could make one eat and drink more which means more sugar intake.

Of course there is the hereditary factor in weight gain which is an entirely different issue altogether.

So How Do you lose weight and belly fat?

Cut out sugar
You must cut out high carbohydrate food, form your diet. Reduce such foods as cereal, bread, biscuits, pasta, pastries and soft drinks! Someone just thought; what about alcohol? Yes! Cut out alcohol and sodas! This is the most effective and fastest way of checking insulin and thereby preventing weight gain. It also interesting to note that insulin doesn’t only store fats, but makes it difficult for the fat to be easily burnt up.

Manage stress.
Stress, stress, stress! Many people live with so much stress for so long it become a part of them. It became accepted and allow to gradually destroy the body; high blood pressure, cardiovascular problems, diabetes, obesity etc. began to develop and sooner or later kill you.

To prevent weight gain and loss weight, you must manage and lower your stress level.

Now we can talk about combining exercise to lose weight. Regular exercise should be the key word! By the time we are controlling our sugar intake by cutting down on carbs, and lowering our stress levels, regular exercise can now be profitable and even accelerate the weight loss process.

So while you exercise, aim to make it as regular as possible. Consistency is more important than unsustainable intensities but before then consistently keep your carbs intake and stress levels in check.

Nairaland / General / How To Pick A Red Wine. by jkingx(m): 8:56am On Oct 19, 2015
http://bluestocker.com/red-wines-which-one/

Wines! The word, to an average person, is associated with, luxury, Sophistication, class, glamour and romance. Throughout all human civilizations wine have been enjoyed by royalties and common men alike. A visit to the wine section of a supermarket or liquor store can leave the average person bewildered with the arrays of wine to choose from. Recently I was in a small liquor store and I ask the sales lady if she has any Cabernet Sauvignon and she looked lost. So when you see the labels on wine bottles with names like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, pinot noir, Chardonnay etc., what do they mean? What do Sweet, or dry refer to? How do you pick that perfect bottle of wine?

Wine is made from certain kind of grapes called Vitis vinifera which in Latin means wine grapes. They are small, sweet with thick skins and contain seed. Wines are usually named after the region from which the grapes used in producing them are grown and the grapes they are made from. As I began writing this article, I found myself overwhelmed with the wide world of wines. I realized the topic of wines is so broad that discussion will have to be limited to a specific aspect per time or else the information will be so jumbled up it may not make a lot of sense or it will become a text book. So today, I’m going to attempt to define just two aspects of wine; color and the broad taste. I’ll then briefly focus on the popular types of red wines.

Please visit for details. http://bluestocker.com/red-wines-which-one/

Nairaland / General / Energy Drinks Can Kill You! by jkingx(m): 10:56am On Oct 17, 2015
http://bluestocker.com/warning-energy-drinks-can-kill-you/

A single can of energy drink like Power Horse, Red Bull can drastically increase your risk of a heart attack or stroke, irrespective of your age. Sometimes ago, I wondered what energy giving compounds they contained and was surprised to find that they have just extremely high amount of caffeine and sugar. The caffeine rapidly increase your body metabolic rate and make your body burn up sugar and sometimes fats to give you energy but it makes your blood sticky and that is the smell of stroke and heart attacks. Within an hour of consuming a can of energy drink, say, Red Bull, your blood can become as abnormal as someone’s who has heart disease. Yet you see most folks drinking it like soda without so much as asking about it safety.
France banned it for some years after an 18 years old athlete consumed four can at the end of a game a died within hours. The ban was lifted in 2004 following a European court ruling. In several countries like Australia, Uruguay, Norway, New Zealand, Denmark, Columbia and Britain, energy drinks are either banned or strictly regulated but in their contents and sales. Red Bull and perhaps other brands were banned in for children below 16 years of age following the heart attack and deaths of two people ages 21 and 16. But sadly in Nigeria and most developing countries, anything goes!

Please Visit http://bluestocker.com/warning-energy-drinks-can-kill-you/ for the rest of the article.

Nairaland / General / Where Is Nigcomsat-1r by jkingx(m): 11:15am On Oct 16, 2015
[img][/img]

www.bluestocker.com

NigComSat-1R was launched with the usual pipe dream grammar you hear from Nigeria government official about four years ago. Has any of the dreams since 1976 become a reality?
Nigeria started and sank huge fund in a satellite project in 1976 called “Aerostat Balloon Station Project”. It was abandoned.
At the cost of $30m, Surrey Space Technology, a UK company built NigeriaSat-1 which was launched in 2003 from Russia.
NigeriaSat-2 and NigeriaSat-X were built at the cost of over $54m by Ukraine I think, and launched from Russia in 2011.
Built by the Chinese, launched by the Chinese from china and managed by the Chinese till it disappeared from space, the NigComSat-1 cost some $200m. It was launched in May, 2007 and failed in November, 2008.
In December 2001, NigComSat-1R was launched as a replacement for the failed NigComSat-1. According to the Nigeria Authorities, it was replaced by insurance.
The combines objected for the monumental waste of resource on these ‘white elephant’ projects includes; Discovering early warning signals of environmental disaster, detecting and controlling desertification in parts of Nigeria, especially the North, bringing down the cost of bandwidth in the country, ensuring easier access to broadband services nationwide, assisting in demographic planning, establishing the relationship between vectors and the environment that breeds malaria and giving early warning signals on future outbreaks of meningitis using remote sensing technology, application in e-medicine, providing the technology needed to bring education to all parts of the country through distant learning, aiding in conflict resolution and border disputes by mapping out state and International borders, monitoring pollution, land use and other medium-scale phenomena, boosting telecoms, digital broadcasting, education, national security, economic development, and so on. In fact, it seem the satellites were supposed to solve all Nigeria’s problem!
I looked around trying to find evidence about any of these objective ever realized. I am unable to find any individual or organization who could say they derived any benefit from these satellite projects. I stand to be informed of any if I’m just being ignorant.
Albert Einstein said the difference between genius and stupidity is that genius have limit! Nowhere is the limitlessness of human stupidity evident as it is on the corridors of power and policy making in Abuja. I often ask myself if there is something there that make most people stupid when they get to top positions in government. We are no strangers to the ridiculousness of unrealistic and non-impactful projects embarked upon by our government at all level all the time but in my view, the satellite projects are the dumbest ever.
A country that can’t make the most basic provisions like roads, safe drinking water, primary health facilities, housing and power available for its people is sinking millions of dollars into massive ‘white elephant’ projects.
Imagine the economic impact these projects have on the countries that built them and the employments generated.
As of now I’m wondering; where is the latest NIgComSat-1R and what is it doing?

Nairaland / General / Water, Water, Water: How Much Should We Drink? by jkingx(m): 6:41am On Oct 16, 2015
http://bluestocker.com/water-water-water-how-much-should-we-drink/

Water. That transparent, tasteless and odorless liquid with the chemical formula H20 is a miraculous substance to say the least and one of the many blessings of nature that can never be paid for. Every form of life from microorganism to humans needs water to exist.
No doubt we’ve all heard so much advice and instruction about water. Such advice as; drink four liters of water a day, drink eight glasses a day, drink a glass on an empty stomach first thing in the morning etc. Which of such wisdom are correct? Which are beneficial? In fact are detrimental?
When my wife was pregnant and was experiencing those early stage sickness; that wonderful period when they hate the sight, smell or taste of everything sometime their husband inclusive and the man get really confused, sometimes even frustrated sometime scared, she wouldn’t drink even water. Sure I was really concern for her and the baby. How much water must she at least drink I’ll ponder. A google search will give a million result and a billion advice. How do you sieve through all that and figure out which to accept.
How Do Our Bodies Regulate and Maintain Adequate Fluid Level?
The body regulate water level through the mechanism of thirst which signal us to reach for water. This signal helps to regulate the concentration of salt and electrolyte in our body and the overall volume of water in our bodies. Then there is urination and sweating to expel water. Of course sweating is also a temperature regulating process.
Here are facts I learnt from trusted medical opinion about water and our bodies.
BELIEF: You must drink eight glasses of water daily.
FACT: though it is recommended to drink 8 glasses of water of 8 ounce (oz.) or approximately 24cl capacity per day, which will be roughly two liters. About 20% this volume is derived from food we eat so don’t necessarily have to keep counting till we drink eight glasses of water whether we feel thirsty or not.
BELIEF: Caffeinated sodas don’t hydrate and can even dehydrate you.
FACT: Yes caffeine is diuretic but a mild one and the fluid in a caffeinated soft drink is more than enough to hydrate the body. Of course caffeinated drinks cannot take the place of water and should only be taken for thirst when water is not available at that time.
The more the body expel water, the more one should drink. Did you know athletes can seat 1-2 liters of water per hour during high intensity exercise? Consequently, they could drink up to 10 liters on such days.
BELIEF: Just keep drinking as much water as you can.
FACTS: Too much water can actually alter the electrolytic balance of the body.
BELIEF: Packaged water is better than water from the tap.
FACT: This not necessarily true. Except in developing countries where availability safe drinking water is a big challenge, tap water is even better than bottled water. In developed countries, bottle water is a waste of money!
BELIEF: If you are thirsty, it means you are already dehydrated.
FACT: Thirst is just a signal that you need water intake it doesn’t mean you are already dehydrated. Symptoms of dehydration includes, dry mouth, weakness, dizziness, palpitations, fainting, inability to sweat, little or no urine. It take a long time or some serious loss of water from the body to be dehydrated.

Nairaland / General / Global Arms Trade: Why Conflict Africa And Islamic Nations Are The Biggest Loser by jkingx(m): 6:27am On Oct 15, 2015
Global arms trade is one thing which shows the complete failure of United Nations. Reminds me of the word of Late Fela Anikulapo Kuti who ask what’s united in united nations?

“When a country decides to invest in arms, rather than in education, housing, the environment, and health services for its people, it is depriving a whole generation of its right to prosperity and happiness. We have produced one firearm for every ten inhabitants of this planet, and yet we have not bothered to end hunger when such a feat is well within our reach. Our international regulations allow almost three-quarters of all global arms sales to pour into the developing world with no binding international guidelines whatsoever. Our regulations do not hold countries accountable for what is done with the weapons they sell, even when the probable use of such weapons is obvious.”

The above statement by Oscar Arias Sanchez, a former President of Costa Rica paints the real and sad picture of of global arms business by western nations to third world nations with Africa and Islamic countries been chief. Dictators, monarchs, theocrats or whatever categories of leader or rulers who desire to perpetuate their power over their people, do exactly what Oscar Sanchez was talking about; investing in arms to protect their reigns rather that give the basics of life that will ensure a future to their people and nations.
It’s needless to say that the global arms business is big business and like most things in life, for every win, some have to loose. Despite the concept of ‘win-win’ that is sort of common now, especially in corporate circles (which is mostly a charade anyway), the global arms business has no ‘win-win’ end for the vast majority of people who are the victims of arms business. The oppressors or government that prioritize arms over the basic welfare of their people lost in the end any way one look at it. So who wins?
Let’s start by taking a look at the players in the global arms trade. The biggest manufactures and suppliers of arms (including small and light weapons, military assault weapons, heavy military equipment, military aircrafts, naval systems, missiles, military applicable technology, munitions of all grades and calibers etc.) are the United States, Russia, China, France, and United Kingdom. Note that these countries are the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. Others are, Germany, Israel, Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Netherlands, Switzerland, Turkey and Canada. The five permanent members of UN Security Council with Germany and Italy control some 85% of global arms supply! It’s needless to say these nations are economic giants. Note also that they are relatively peaceful nations. They have high education levels, excellent physical and social infrastructures, developed medical sector, high employment rates with thousands employed in the arms manufacturing and supply industries.
This article is not aimed at giving statistics. Figures abound on the web from reputable authorities on these matter. Neither is it about strategy they use to destabilize other nations so they can sell arms to them. This article is about the loser of this multibillion dollar business.
Now, who are the biggest buyers of arms? Simply put, developing countries! Available statistics may not show African nations either because most arms deal are shady and under the table adding to the fact that yes, many could actually not afford to spend like richer Islamic nations. One will easily note that these heavy buyers of arms have the least human development indices yet spend billions in weapon procurements. Of course every nations should have a military strong enough to defend itself. These nations have lower literacy rates and educational developments, high unemployment, infrastructural deficits, hunger and diseases etc. The most pathetic being many African nations always in all sorts of armed conflict. The people are busy killing themselves and enriching the western powers.
Until the so-called leaders of third world nations wake up and wise up. Until the people themselves realize that they are all fools, they will continue to be poor, hunger and diseases ravaged nations killing themselves and making the rich nations richer, more powerful and secured. Until then, Africa, Islamic nations especially will continue to be the losers. Africa will continue to be everything negative, Islamic terrorist will continue rampaging and destroying their on nations and further empowering the west the supposedly hate.
The words of Dwight D. Eisenhower, Former U.S. President, will continue to hunt humanity even if no one remembers or think about them.
“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, and the hopes of its children… This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.”

No it’s not a trailer. It’s a Ford Truck. The F-750! A Luxury edition by the Dunkel industries build at a cost of $6m! Wait a minute, I didn’t say it will be sold for that amount or that anyone will pay $6m for it but never underestimate the human capability for madness.
It’s probably the largest pick-up truck in the world. Did I hear someone say ‘crazy’? You sure won’t be wrong.
It’s got a 1,200 pound-feet of torque diesel powered Cummins Engine. It’s definitely 4x4, 10m long, 2.5m wide, and about 3.5m high. It’s got a kitchen and dining room, bathroom and bedroom for up to six people. I guess it’s more like a house on wheels now.
You’re most likely familiar with the Toyota tundra, Tacoma, Hilux, Nissan Titan, Dodge Ram, Ford F-150 etc but probably can’t picture this monster.
Many it’s a joke but if you got the dough and crazy enough, you can laugh at the joke.

Nairaland / General / Heartbroken By Good And Close Friendship by jkingx(m): 8:09am On Oct 13, 2015
Once upon a phase in my life, I was more or less a typical young man that did one of the things young men at that phase typically do; chase after girls. While some tend to stop immediately after the initial experimental stage, others perfect the game and make it a habit that stays with them through their entire life of singlehood. Some men sadly, never break free from it even after marrying. Some end up with the unenviable title of playboys and adulterers, chains of broken relationships or broken marriages.
A typical 'crime' committed by most young men in that stage of life if breaking young girl’s hearts. Sometimes knowingly and blissfully, other times completely unaware. I doubt if ever there was a man who from his teens to a mature adulthood, never broke a girl's heart; even the 'good' and well behaved boys and men. I must have broken a few hearts I believe, though I also believe that in the face of logic I'll rarely be found guilty. Did I just say logic? When has logics and emotions ever mix?
Ok, let's fast forward to the days of responsible adulthood when the years of blissful ignorance is over with boys becoming men and desiring to marry, settle down and raise families and girls fast turning to women who can barely wait to be mothers. From the ideal dreams of a life partner to 'unrealistic' expectations, the search, 'positioning to be found' and waiting begins. Sometimes some are smart or lucky to quickly find or be found. Many in this category often knows what they want. Then there are those who either don't know what they want or hold on to an ideal even when time and circumstances began to make those ideals increasingly unrealistic, till they snap to reality one day and time is on the far side of them. Of course there are those who in pursuit of careers, education or other priorities found themselves on the wrong side of time for marital business and let's not forget the downright unfortunate ones who just seem to get all the bad breaks.
Now, here is the other face of heartbreak this article is about. A man and a woman desirous of marriage, meet through any of a thousand possible ways, maybe dates, become friends, become very close and good friends; 'close and very good friends'!. Now wait a minute. That's where you get a glimpse of the other face of heartbreak and smell trouble.
On the woman side, she sees this guy as her husband. She assume there is only one possible destination for their 'very good and close friendship'; down the aisle to happily ever after together. She began to play the role of the good wife and perfect daughter-in-law. She may even began looking at wedding magazines and browse wedding websites. Then one day, horror strike and she's left devastated; her man is getting married to another woman! She's heartbroken beyond imagination and sometimes beyond repair. 'How can you do that to me’? She ask with pains and tears. Bewildered and unbelievable he replied 'I don't understand. We were always good friends, I never told you I was going to marry you.' Aha! There is the problem again; 'good friends'.
On the men side you find almost exactly the same scenario only little difference is the guy playing the perfect husband and in-law while planning a wedding or bidding his time with the assumption that she is his woman and will always be there for him until one day he gets an invitation for her wedding. To the same accusations, the woman may even smile innocently and point it out to him 'you've never proposed to marry me. I'm not getting younger, you know'.
Now you see, in both situations, someone is left, maybe irreparably heartbroken and often with the heartbreaker unaware and logically innocent
You reading this may identify with this if you've experienced anything similar or know someone that has but if luckily you've never experienced the pains of this sort of heartbreak, do think about it and either don't fall victim or villain.
Here's the thing. Next time you find yourself been very close and good friend with someone, either clearly define what you want or ask for a definition. Action speaks louder than words they say but words are easier to understand.

For claiming you don't know what to do and looking for advice here, I think you are nursing the idea bro. That is assuming of course that it's not another cooked up story.
I strongly believe there is a way you'll make a firm statement and she'll know are serious. As a woman, she's read you and know you interested that why she is still trying to help you make up your mind.
Tell her you'll tell your wife and show her your messages and subsequently, tell her husband if she still bother you.
Run bro! Run!

OK. That means in 4.7km it consumes 1litre.
Assuming if it is driven for 100km, what will be the consumption?
Thanks
if your car use 1 litre to go 4.7km
it will use x litres to go 100km
therefore 1*100=4.7*x
x litres = 100/4.7
=21.3
so your mileage in L/100KM = 21.3L/100KM
