Goel:1. ridiculous statement, SA is far ahead in all development indexes. 2. Excluding small island nations SA is the most developed African nation, it's also considered a NIC, Also SA is ahead of India wrt to Global innovation index, above India in terms of Quality of infrastructure index, above in HDI, above in LPI...should I go on? 3.Did you do any research at all before typing this? SA is not that far behind India in terms of diversification and ranks 42nd in the world 4. not disputed 5. What? 6. In SA you can own a gun if you get a license, right to bear arms isn't in the constitution 1 Like |

kabe1:-https://www.mace.manchester.ac.uk/research/impact/impact-pathways/atmospheric-dust-and-jet-engines/ - Turboprops require less maintenance : https://www.naa.edu/advantages-and-disadvantages-of-turboprop-engines/ - Why?? Why is this even a relevant questions? - Kabe1 know more about the A400m than Airbus themselves?? 1 Like |

Bacteria8:Why the laughing emoji? secondly we've lost soldiers in the DRC before it's not something new to lose soldiers in conflict areas. And yes I've said we should've left the DRC once the UN stopped funding Rooivalk deployments They never mentioned sanctions they mentioned kicking SA from the AGOA trade agreement |

kabe1:- I never said it can't take off from dirt runways however in the long run turbofans will need more maintenance than Turboprops due to dust exposure, this is a well known fact. - During the border war quiet a lot actually - What's the infrastructure like....Africa vs Ukraine? also the A400m is quite small compared to the likes of the C17, An-124, Y20 ect ect

Foreign Affairs / Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by jl115: 7:27am On Feb 17 |
kabe1:- Shorter take off and landing distance is evidence, as is turboprop vs turbofan....it's no secret that turbofans don't like dust. - Source?? they are nearly 3 times the unit price but what are the maintenance figures? where did you get that it costs 4 times more to operate? - It is exactly what I said it is. It certainly is a tactical airlift which can carry strategic loads. What are the limitations except for the price? |
Foreign Affairs / Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by jl115: 10:19pm On Feb 16 |
kabe1:For 1 Turboprop vs Turbofan.........Turboprop will always be better for landing on unprepared runways where dust is a factor. Turboprops are also easier to fix in remote places. Secondly the A400M has much shorter take off and landing distances as well All in all the A400M was designed specifically as a tactical airlift that could carry strategic loads. overall it's a better aircraft than the c390(as a strategic and tactical airlift), however it costs nearly 3 times more. That said I'm a fan of the C390, and for a turbofan it does have very good tactical airlift capabilities and certainly a good replacement for the C130, the cost also makes it attractive to countries like SA and Nigeria |
Foreign Affairs / Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by jl115: 9:38pm On Feb 16 |
kabe1:actually the A400M has better tactical airlift capability than the C390 |

Bacteria8:My opinion has always been to stay neutral in the geopolitical game, regardless if the intentions were good, we should've kept our noses out of it and focused solely on ourselves and fixing our problems, anyone with half a brain cell could've seen this coming hence well done ANC, you've pressured Israel and possibly helped the Palestinians to an extent, but to the expense(possibly) of your own people. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Bacteria8:1. Nope since the ratio of Afrikaners studying Agriculture is still much higher than even the % of White owned farm land compared to black owned farm land, in fact the most that study Agriculture are not land owners themselves and neither are there families, there are only 30000 commercial farmers(White and Black) in SA 2. Yes... it's an issue for less than 2% of the population 3. I never said I was against land redistribution I'm against redistribution without compensation , in fact the Government has settled over 80 000 land claims since 94....Did you know that most of these claimants chose financial compensation instead of the actual land? this further proves point nr2 4. My not attempting delude anyone, I'm simply pointing to the facts |
Foreign Affairs / Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by jl115: 2:47pm On Jan 31 |
Bacteria8:The worst thing anyone can do is look at these figures at face value without understanding the context behind them....like for example Afrikaners are more inclined to pursue a career in commercial agriculture than any other ethnic group and by some distance, this is proven by the amount of Afrikaners studying agriculture vs other ethnic groups, thus if their are more commercial white farmers vs black farmers than obviously they will own more land. secondly land is not an issue for South Africans, all it is, is a political scape goat, several polls were run across the last decade and all of them show that less than 2% of South Africans actually feel that land is a pressing issue. Jobs, Crime, Poverty, Infrastructure, Education ect ect all ranked much higher |
Foreign Affairs / Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by jl115: 11:09am On Jan 31 |
Bacteria8:Malema is a politician, not a land demographics expert and that assertion is very wrong since the actual % of total land owned by Whites in South Africa is only 22% and just over 53% of Agricultural land according to AgriSA |

Lurker4Long:I can grasp it, and that was never something I was against so don't shift the goal posts, my point is this: why not say "From the river to the sea, Israel will be free" since there is no country called Palestine with the borders you are referring to? Do you not see how this can be threatening to the average Israelite? Also what is wrong with having self governing Palestinian states and self Governing Jewish states? 1 Like |

Lurker4Long:What you don't get is that I'm completely objective towards the Israel/Palestine situation.....so that "fact" isn't really a fact, its a view point from someone who has a biased view of the situation. "One man. one vote" is a very simple phrase that most normal humans can understand as a call for democracy in said country, When you say "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" what exactly happens to Israel?? does it cease to exist? are you changing its name? 1 Like |
