Shma2023: This is a waft logic, and I will tell you why. India's Population is the world's largest. The comparison is not fair/ apples for apples. In terms of efficient economic production, China is the world's most powerful. Economic production affects GDP/ GNP in current prices, and SLIGHTLY affects GDP per head. That's why India is in the top 5 largest economies in the world and SA isn't. Seychelles has bigger GDP per capita than China, does that mean Seychelle's economic PRODUCTIVITY is more efficient than China's? The answer is a big NO! To put it into a clear picture, China is ranked 64th in GDP per Capita Index. That is behind a whopping 63 nations despite her superiority in productivity.
Nonetheless, I get your point. At least you're not in denial that India's economic productivity is more efficient than that of SA.
India has the largest population in the world, if SA had the same population with iets current gdp per capita it would be the 3rd largest economy in the world....also China isn't far behind India wrt population so it is comparing apples with apples.
Yes Seychelle's population contribute more per person to their gdp than that of China.
I literally said the opposite, do you even comprehend bru?
Shma2023: I've told you not once, NEVER RESPOND TO A QUOTE DIRECTED TO SHACKMAN! I believe in your cognitive ability to discern Economics.
For you, I can argue this way: Why is a large denominator(population) coming into play? Why are we ignoring real numerators / current prices that define a country's economic progress: GDP /GNP/ NNP? The answer is simple; India's sprawling population is arguably out of control _ and the metric will outrightly not be in favor of India.
I know you'll bring in the impact of a huge population in driving the economy: I already discussed all four factors of production - and the conclusion was; huge productive population. India exports services and technology to SA, and maybe Oil. while SA exports mineral reasons like Coal and Gold.(nature produced) . Skilled population my friend. Aside that; majority of Indians are elderly and infant(like 5+, times SA population combined). What does this mean? Zero productivity. Pure liability! Government will spend more on those _ while when per capita is calculated, those number won't be overlooked notwithstanding zero economic output. GDP WILL BE AFFECTED! Still, on the same angle, majority of Indians are idle and jobless... Liability in that regard. So, per capita, it will still affect GDP.
Finally, why is India's GDP per capita only 2 times lower than SA's when India has a 23 times huge population? Answer this without repeating what I said.
same reason China has a per capita gdp 4 times higher than india, its economic productivity is more efficient
Also India and SA have near identical age demographics
Shma2023: I will prove to you why the emboldened is the biggest fallacy.
This boils down to GDP per capita. SA's GDP per capita is 6043 USD. India's GDP per capita is 2600 USD, meaning, you have twice india's per capita Notwithstanding your tiny population. If we picture it from that angle, you're doing terrible.
Mathematically, from what you said, your GDP per cap should be hovering around 59,000 USD, since your population is 25 times lower. - this means you're doing way worse!
For starters: South Africa 399B/66M = 6045 USD
India 3.7T/1.4B = 2640 USD
India GDP with SA population
3.7T/66M = GDP per capita 56,060 USD ( 56060 ÷ 6045 = 9 times higher)
South African GDP with India's population.
399B/1.4B = $285 ( 6045 ÷ 285 = 21 times lower)
Overall. your GDP per capita using population is 12 times lower (21 - 9 = 12times) that's why I said average indian is smarter than average south African; irrigardless of how shithole India is in Asia. Their population is more productive.
This might well be the dumbest post I've ever seen....also proves there are at least 3 ret@eds with similar intelligent
Shma2023: Nope, I wasn't debating. I was teaching you. I had to point some few things out for your slow cerebellum to fathom. I never expected any response in that regard.
No you were just being obtuse, taking things that are irrelevant to the argument like meaning of words that are basically synonyms to deflect from the fact that you were wrong, on several occasions
Shma2023: Boer, you must be having a terrible day in SA. Anyways, it's sickening how the majority of blacks in SA are destroying their country. Shackman, see how white soldiers have dominated SA. This is typically a white nation. Blacks in SA are nobodies.
Shma2023: Slash sign indicates affiliation or opposition. You certainly didn't imply the latter when you slashed projection with estimation (projection/estimation) while debunking Approximation. You started the game and I knocked the bottom out of such silly argument by inviting the definition of approximation, which is closer and far more accurate than estimation. I debunked the equality of projection to estimation _ and that left you dumber to the point of embarking on hooking straws. You must be slow to think that RATES are random numbers between 1 to 10, or 100k to 999k. In approximation, if you have 100M in your database, for me to give 91M I'm correct! ≤10. The range of 2% was not far from 7%. 2% is far from any figure above 20%, 40% or 100%. Yes, both are still millions. Even if the difference was negligible like 1%_ still the figure will be in millions.
You are debating with yourself again , literally having a schizophrenic episode......seek help
Shma2023: You ought to have known my ways, by now. I'm highly smart_ for these taradiddles. Your screenshot has proven nothing outside of how lazy and empty-headed U-R First thing first, calculation, reckoning, ridge, prognosis, outgrow, spur.... From the screenshot you purport to carry the similarity of the word projection ain't IT! What you posted are affiliated words but with different meanings.
when did i say they have the exact same meaning? you are thumb sucking arguments I never even had to try an cover your stupidity, also again you are several million people off
Shma2023: You should enroll in an English Class. The word estimation is guessing( but from an academic point of view) _ the outcome can be way far from the actual truth . Approximation is giving an estimate but in this, the outcome is more or less the same as the actual figure. Projection on the other hand is entirely different from estimation. Projection ≠ estimation. Projections are based on assumptions about future demographic trends. And I used RATE, not the actual population. Whites in SA are less than 7%_ don't count colored people you m@ppet.
Shma2023: Nope! WB & IMF approximate figures more frequently. The outcome often turns out to be wrong more often than not. Mind you, IMF & WB are managed by a bunch of Top tier Economists.
bro what the fvck are you on about? IMF and WB have projections/ estimates...the explanation is in the meaning of the words above....demographics however are very easy, you just google it since they are from actual population census....also you were several million off not just a little.....you dumb, accept it and move on.
Shma2023: Yes! Let's give it 75% for fair view - purely white. . 10% Mix race and maybe 15% zulus and khoisans notwithstanding the fact that whites in SA makes less that 2% of entire population.
9%....you have gotten dumber since I've last been here
vaxx: provide an imf report or world bank data not bedroom cooked up economics . It is a known fact that 2023 economic activities hasn't run up so what ever data you come up will surely comes from your ass
Kazikazi: Do u know the same "Times higher educationa"l rankings have a separate sub saharan rankings? And do u know, Muhiimbili university is 3rd best university in subsahan Africa?
so UCT is ranked 160th in the world....but not in the top.10 in SSA?.....that's some logic bru
Lurker4Long: Jl115, what you were saying about the Opposition spokesman on defence: this was Simonstown last week, a few days after he again said not a single Lynx is flying!
kabe1: Since you are here, I will expect that you be respectful to differing opinions, please do not bring the unruly behavior that is well versed in the other thread to this place.
Moving on, my thoughts on NNS Aradu, the ship is 43 years old and has passed it's effective life cycle. It's systems are old, it's engine is broken, it's weapon management system is outdated. NNS Aradu has had many accidents, the most recent repair was done at the Naval Dockyard in Lagos where there were problems with water ingress into the ship.
The ship completed repairs and had to be towed out of the dockyard by Tugs back to NNS Beecroft.
NNS Aradu while a powerful warship back when it was launched in the 80's is a complete shadow of it's self.
The cost of refitting NNS Aradu back to a warm fighting frigate would be so high, it's systems, guns, radars, engines etc etc would need to be completed replaced.
I am of the opinion that the Navy would be better served with acquiring 2 x brand new ships.
There's so much emotional attachment with NNS Aradu, the ship is way past it's prime.
If we are looking at purchasing Frigates the BRP Jose Rizal class Frigates would be an excellent fit for us, instead of investing in a ship that's way past it's prime.
Agreed, it would cost so much to refit NNS Aradu to current standards one could just as well purchase a new Frigate
rvp20182: It more the failure of Transnet just like Eskom. Prepare for more of this now - road cannot handle all that traffic without heavy investment. The rail was saving your roads. The road in Bloemspruit, Bloemfontein, South Africa
rvp20182: Every South African visiting or living in Kenya would eat you alive.kenya unlike all countries in this threads have very stable reliable electricity. Almost small difference with Europe. That despite a drought of 5yrs... we are likely to achieve universal electricity coverage with world class reliability in 2 or 3yrs.Again consumption is really down to having minning or heavy manufacturing..or not.20 big customers in South africa consume what 60 percent of power..likes of Tiger Industries
rvp20182: Why should we produce more..we have almost same coverage or accessibility..more reliability. We are not doing minning or heavy manufacturing. We don't have to produce more power..we need to ensure everyone has access to clean reliable electricity...and we are now heading to 10m out of 12 million households. Inclusive of business premises soon we achieve universal coverage. Kenya doesn't have to go through minning or heavy manufacturing..we can leapfrog into industries without smokestack through ICT,tourism, horticulture and such industries
Monthly unforeseen blackouts doesn't = more reliable.
Also you don't have the same coverage or accessibility
