Most of the transactions on my bank statement is just between me and him(personal money stuff). Make una help me on what to do abeg. Going for Msc Environmental and life science ~Brandon University |

Pls I wanna ask if its advisable to use "Affidavit of Age declaration" in replacement of my birth certificate during the TRV application process.. I don't have the birth certificate again BUT I've been using this affidavit as far back 2008.. Thanks |

adeyemidare:I haven't mailed the Prof. He said, when I get the letter from admission office, I should let him know.. He sent this below sometimes ago Should you proceed with your application to MSc in Environmental and Life Science, it is on the understanding that my acceptance of you as my student depends on funding being in place for you. It is my hope that Brandon University through the Masters program will be able to offer support for your personal costs, but this can't be guaranteed. This would be in the form of a teaching fellowship ($6000 to teach a laboratory class) or a direct bursary between $6000 to $11,000 for one year, renewable once. I hope a decision is made soon, and hopefully before March. My research grant application, if successful, may also be able to support you by paying you a similar amount as a stipend, I will hear about that grant application in April. |

mrtobbiemillz:Bro. You don't have to be tired . I know how annoying it is by contacting a supervisor and get no or dearth reply. *Maybe your emails isn't well comprehensive enough or you've been mailing the profs that have little or no knowledge/interest in your field Or your mails has likely been gushed into their spam box.. Read back my previous posts on how to write a professor and I'm sure you'll get a positive response when u work on that.. Moreso, Always give a 2-3days interval after sending your email to send a REMINDER to them. Pls don't send a new mail with the same information/writeups as the previous(they get angry when you spam their mail). What you will do by reminder is "Go to your sent messages > click on the message u previously sent to d prof > click on reply > input the prof's email addy, then you can add REMINDER to the subject of ur previous mail.. If the subject of ur previous mail is RESEARCH. By putting d reminder it wil be like this -REMINDER: RESEARCH. I got a prof after sending him a Reminder twice.(Those guys are very busy). Don't be tired , keep making Google ur friend to search for profs, and keep sending mail to those of ur interest.. I sent more than 50emails, only 2 clicked.. Happy new year boss thesoj, oga sholay2011, ayooluwatoni and ganiyuadeoye. And all TRV applicants, be expectant and believe that God that did it for berexio1, omonjoe graviton2 and others will surely do it for you.. Also pray for my own admission to be granted o. Cutehector.. I just need to call you out here privately as a fellow guy,. Well to spank your ass you will say or to reprimand you for your childish posts.. I have once called you and asked if you actually a graduate but you never responded back cos your attitude is just disgrace to graduate entity, and university as a whole.. Let me come in here, Telling people, most especially a girl that another girl is crushing on you is childish, A GRADUATE doesn't behave like that bro. See, its a privilege for a gal to crush on you but saying it to another is babbyish and frivolous. Even if its true and she's a hoe, you gotta respect the mettlesomeness she displayed.. Try and respect what courage they might have shown, don't abuse it bro.. Lemme tell you, I have so many of them crushing on NL, but God is my witness, I have never for once told or involved any third party what's going on, I have seen many when i was around. Many has opened thread about me and I respect the courage but I don't abuse it.. Can I ask, what school did you graduate from? What grade did you finished with?. This sometimes shows how well your graduated-intellectuality can be of help in glutted. Stop trying to garner likes from ladies by vilify what's not right. You're a guy, I'm also a guy and i needed to quote you here but if such things persist again ikenna, I'm gonna spank your ass openly on the romance section. I have nothing to lose but plenty to gain by garnering likes which i don't need.. Just stop asslicking as people fondly tagged you. Your popularity in romance will only polish your more impecunious, penurious and parsimonious life, it add nothing essential bro.. Its your type that do come up on thread to expose girls you've slept with.. Just stop this haughty and childish attitude of yours.. Behave like a graduate and MAN for once.. Thanks bro. Peace.. 1 Like 1 Share |

ganiyuadeoye:I got your pm but unable to reply unless you drop your mail and I'll send you. How I did it,?. I won't lie to you, I sent more than 50emails to profs in my field, I suddenly became an active reader bro. I have downloaded Different professors publications(both the interesting, insightful, boring,&understandable ones) from ResearchGate digital library through their web pages. What I did was(Thanks to thesoj that directed me to the post), I read the publications and I looked at where I can improve on their lab. 99% of replies I got was Dear Jkakeside, Your backgrounds on Xxxx sounds good but I'm not in the position to fund a new student for I have exceeded my fundings" or Dear Jlakeside, Thanks for showing interest in working in my lab but ......you know the rest... Until I got a slight positive response from 2-3 of them.. This is d kind of emails I sent GoodMorning Prof XXXXXX My name is Jlakeside from Nigeria. I studied BS Yoruba Education with CGPA of 9.99/10 from the University of Nairaland. I am presently preparing for graduate school education and I want to apply to the Igbo Dept at University of the Prof for an MSc Program. After going through your profile and publications, I find your work on "Bleep" interesting. I have vast knowledge & experience in Bleep during my undergrad years where I did X, Y, Z, blah blah blah. I read one of your research works with Dr ganiyuadeoye et al,2012 on "Climate change and green house gases". I found it on the Research gate digital library (www.researchgate.net/climate_green_*****). I find this insightful and interesting. I was particularly fascinated by the effect of climatic conditions on dormancy and regeneration by xxxxxx(refer to what you read on his/her publication.). Sir, I saw some interesting questions while reading it and I was much concerned about "What is the interaction between dormancy break and smoke-stimulated germination with fire intensification?". There are some gases such as Bleep in the family Bleep which practically require fire to crack its coat leaving the unharmed in dormancy breaking(you gast know what you really wanna ask since you have a diverse knowledge in that area). I understand that dormancy breaks and germinate under so many certain auspicious climatic condition and long monitoring of these favourable conditions should be part of ecophysiological studies in future BUT can it be done using FV8889 solution?(here, this is what you planning to bring to his/her lab, he/she hasn't done it or he/she had done it and you came up with another idea to move the research into another realm). Could this work be extended towards this regards? Do you think it will be a worthwhile to pursue this line of research?. I'd like to know if you would be accepting new graduate students for Winter 2025. Thank you very much for your time. I hope we have the chance to speak about the research in future. Hope to hear from you soon Regards Jlakeside Nairaland.. The thing is, you have to be sure of what you're asking and writing,. Orelse the prof will think otherwise, and if he/she has an ongoing research which he/she needs students, just go and read on related research that has been done..make Google your friend,. I'm sure you will come across one and ask him how you can improve on the project... Have it in mind that 90% will say NO, 5% will be like "OK, apply let's see how it goes from there, and the remaining 5% will give u a green light.. Never say never, keep mailing others if one rejects 20 Likes 6 Shares |

Hello house, I just told the Prof, that i've submitted my application to the admission office and he sent this bolded below.. I dont need to hide anything from where I have gotten so much info from.. I was so naive when applying for US admission and Visa and I couldn't make my worries known to peepz and I died in silence.. But now, I need to share my worries with everyone here.. Anyways,Hope this is a positive message from him? That’s great. I have alerted the MSc (MELS) program office of your application so we can keep an eye on it and deal with any small problems should they arise. The MELS Admissions committee will meet in February, and they will communicate with you (and also me) about whether you were successful in your application. Best wishes NB: He perused and edited my SOP, he even wrote that, He and I have discussed about possible research project. And he wrote some other sweet things which I really love on the SOP. He's also the Graduate Coordinator of the program Thanks for your time gurus 9 Likes |

My two referees are Dr. They were my Paleontology lecturers in school, and I'm going for the same course,. I wrote all what they needed to write myself and I sent it to thier official/professional emails, which they just perused & copied on Dept letterhead & sent. My CGPA isn't as high as yours but I've been given a go-ahead by a Prof, and we've been talking like say na him be my papa. I'm just praying for admission, DEADLINE is Jan31 though, but I've submitted every needed materials.. *Did you gt a supervisor at both UofM and UofR before applying...?? 4 Likes |

Please House,.. I sent my SOP to the Professor that gave me a GO-AHEAD in applyiny to Brandon University for perusal. This is his reply in bolded.. Though, he promised me of funds if his 5-year research grant he applied for is granted, but I think he's saying a different story.. What should i do?.please. cc thesoj berexio1 amefrica khalesi and others Dear Jlakeside I am well. I hope you are too. I was in Canada's capital city, Ottawa, last week at a workshop related to the Pliocene Arctic site project you expressed an interest in. I mentioned I may be recruiting a student from Nigeria with an interest in paleontology. I think your Personal statement reads well. If you can make the statement a little shorter by 100-200 words that would be ideal. I suggest not mentioning all of the undergraduate courses in your second paragraph; just refer to your transcript by saying 'I excelled in courses in environmental biology including geobioloy and paleontology (top 5%), as listed on my transcript', this will save words. You could also shorten the section about your job in the plant nursery by deleting the 2nd sentence ('Here, I was ...'). A small suggestion, but make the lines single spacing not double spacing. I am happy to see a revised version, but would also see no problem with this version or a slightly edited version being submitted. An important question for you. Do you have funds you could use to support yourself while at Brandon University? That is, any personal money or funding from Nigeria (such as a scholarship or bursary) to pay rent and other living costs? If you do, please mention this briefly in your Personal statement. My research grant application, if successful, may also be able to support you by paying you a similar amount as a stipend, but again this is not guaranteed. I will hear about that grant application in April. It may be difficult to get a visa if you don't have financial support in place. Best wishes. 1 Like |
