There is an ongoing protest by traders and shop owners of the popular Agbowo Shopping Complex, Opposite the University of Ibadan with armed security men trying to quench the protest. The state government sent traders out six weeks ago and promised to begin renovation immediately after telling the occupants it has signed MOU with contractors. However, the traders claimed that they have not seen any contractor and that the claim of the agents of the state government was a ploy to take the shops away from them even when they are ready to pay for rent. They plead with the Oyo State Governor to allow them in until contractors are ready for work because of the difficulties and hungers many of them are currently facing due to recession.

The price will fall with more local rice coming on stream. However, most foreign rice bear inferior quality and less nutritious compared to local rice. In fact there were reports of expired foreign rice repackaged for Nigerian market.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the winners of the National Distinction/Merit Award.
Master Babalola David Oluwasayo emerged first, Master Alabi Philip Toluwase second and Miss Nkata Lewechi Ugonma third among over a million candidates that sat for the May/June 2015 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
It was gathered that Babalola who is presently studying Medicine and Surgery at the University of Ibadan had his secondary education at Oritamefa Baptist Model School, Ibadan, Oyo State. Alabi who is also studying Medicine and Surgery at the University of Ibadan, UI finished from Our Lady and St Francis Catholic College, Osogbo, Osun State.
On his part, Nkata who finished his secondary school from Loyola Jesuit College, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja is presently studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The three students were not able to make it to the award ceremony due to academic engagements in their different schools but their families were present to receive the awards on their behalf.

My website domain name and hosting expired last week; I noticed this when I tried to access the site. I called my webmaster and I paid him for for renewal as he requested. That was last Saturday and he told me the site should come up on Tuesday or latest Wednesday. This Domain Name Has Expired - Renewal Instructions link. I have called the webmaster and he told me he has renewed it and that the site is probating. Now he is not picking my calls while the current situation is affecting my business negatively. we shouldn't forget in a haste that jamb is using three criteria in posting candidates to these schools and the fact that kaduna has 5 institutions does not change the fact that it isn't an educationally less developed state. you and i know that the number of versities in a given state is not the criterion used to determine an ELDS. am of the opinion that since jamb is in charge of admission,any candidate who score 180 and above can be posted to any school for admission consideration since it's no more putme where cut off is set at 200. i have seen someone with 196 posted to unilag as well. it's 45% merit,35% catchment and 20% elds.it simply means that if there are 100 candidates for a particular course and 50 candidates have scores btw 250 and above .jamb will not admit the whole 50 because they have high have high score, it will only admit 45 and also choose candidates with lower scores perhaps even below 200 using catchment and elds.. so someone with 260 who does not get it on merit and not from catchment or elds does not mean one from elds but scored lower can't get it.

So, how can Nigeria develop when more qualified aspirants are denied admission because of the less qualified ones? Besides, all states now have universities unlike before when elds policy was formulated.

Why do you have to call people pathetic? Why should Jamb send candidates with score less than 200 and categorize others with more than 200 as ineligible? There's definitely more than meet the eye.

Hmm, my dear people of Nigeria, things are happening in our country. This morning I came across a JAMB candidate who scored just 186 and was shortlisted to be admitted to OAU even though we are all aware that OAU doesn't accept any score less than 200. Upon further investigation, I realized that the candidate is from the northern part of Nigeria, Kaduna to be precise. This is happening even when many students who score 200 plus from the southern part of the country have not been shortlisted. The big questions are: is this why the minister of education, Adamu Bello insists on the scraping of post jamb? what are the implications of this anomaly? There other questions I will post but let's start from here.

Seriously?? It's like rag day provides opportunity for some people to showcase the trait in them. While some see it as fun, some see opportunity to display radiation of their trait without facing discrimination or condemnation from the public.
