Hello guys, I have an issue here in my compound. I moved in here around December 2017, a duplex with 2 flats upstairs and 3 flats downstairs at Oke Ira Ajah,Lagos. I stay in one of the flats upstairs and the other flat is occupied by a friend and his wife. When we came we were told there were 2 bills for the compound,one for upstairs and one for downstairs which was strange. Two of the flats downstairs are occupied by EKEDC staff. So there was no issue initially as we used to get bills of like 5k for upstairs, we never saw the bill of the people downstairs as it's one of the EKEDC staff downstairs who brings our bills for us and thus suspected that there might actually not be two bills in the compound. We discussed this with some of the other tenants and made enquiries at EKEDC Ajah office. This got to the attention of the staff downstairs and from then on our bill rose from 5k a month to 22-30+ thousand every month. Note that there isn't a meter of any kind in the compound.The guy told us that he's been the reason our bill has been around 5k and since we didn't appreciate it and were going around asking questions he wasn't going to 'help' us anymore and we would now be getting the 'normal' charges for the area which were the 22k bills.

Most times we pay what we can, but over the past few months our outstanding balance has gotten to almost 100k while downstairs are still paying 5k. We've tried to get the landlord to get prepaid meters for we upstairs and he said he's paid for it but we don't know when it will come. The real issue now is they've come to remove my cut out and that of my neighbours as a means of disconnection as there's only one line going into the house so currently there's light downstairs and no light upstairs. It wasn't a normal disconnection exercise,just one guy came in to the compound without asking anyone questions or even knocking disconnected our cutouts. This is the second time this is happening. I need help on how to pursue this as the only way to end this quick is to get our prepaid meter,as I definitely can not have my electricity bill to be dependent on my relationship with the EKEDC staff downstairs,please help.

I am not against paying of tithe what I don't agree with is that people are saying what op did was not tithe
to me it is tithe because tithe is for the poor.
it is not bad to pay tithe to the church if they use it to help the poor
but if the pastor is using your tithe to enrich himself it makes no sense

You've finally said your mind, God said bring your tithes to his house, obey, get your blessing and pass. If you don't want to pay because you think you're enriching your pastor leave it, or change church. The OP has not paid his tithes, he has given to the poor,its really that simple. No need for I used it for this or I used it for that, we can all make that excuse. The fact I pay tithe has never stopped me from giving to the poor, but you guys keep making it sound like if it's not your tithe the poor won't see anything from you again. If he felt he was justified with what he's doing I don't think he'll need to open a thread to try to get like minded people to make him feel better about what he's doing.
