well, if its truly an impediment to your work, you can take it off then and remember to put it on after, although i don't really think it'll disturb your work.

as per your discomfort with rings, maybe you should get yourself an ordinary one, wear ii as often as possible so that you'll get used to the feeling. as said earlier, make sure you get a wedding ring that's your size and avoid gaining extra weight
