Family › Re: Is Modern Marriage A Scam? My Own Story by joannes7(m): 8:40am On Apr 18, 2022 |
First of all, sorry chief.. The biggest problem is you married that shrew in the UK.. your wahala go be like tornado. Never ending. Do what's best for you.. sgtponzihater1: The very beginning:
This is one question I probably know the answer to. I could afford a flat, My cable subscription was on point, I hardly ran out of data, except my smile plug was temporary offline, and I could very well feed myself with all the sort of meals I wanted. I also was far above average for a cook.
I really was not thinking of a wife at all. Ladies came and went. I knew while women can be pleasurable, living with them forever could probably cause a strain. So I avoided them for nearly 30years of my life if not more. I obviously was not a Saint, yet I tried my best to do no harm.
Then the scammers came. I can remember all of them. They saw my good life and wished me suffering. They painted the wrong narrative. "PonziHater, you shouldn't be cooking all this soup yourself and doing the dishes everything. "You need a woman to soften things up", when they found me in the restaurant eating "ogufe", they blurted out loudly that I was just a wasting money when I could have a wife to easen things up. They made vague references men who were supposedly living happier lives because of the women in their life. All these men were disgruntled, but kept a fake smile to sell a false narrative
The truth it was it was all brainwash. I felt good, happy and free. I couldn't afford the best designers, but my shirt were "red tag", and my pants were decent. I could fuel my car, and "afford" any lady on the daily. I truly then did not understand the softening of life that they claimed Marriage will bring, but with their emphasis, I thought of a near heaven, where lovely meals, a lot of sex, children calling me daddy and a wife to walk to in the park. What I found going forward was just like being at the peak of orgasm in a brothel, just at the point when the police were breaking in. It was some pleasure subsequently followed by gross imprisonment. It was going to hell on a 24hours drive, and then returning only to be stopped in the middle of nowhere by robbers. It was the most distasteful experience a man could see.
To be continued

Family › Re: My Single Neighbor Came Knocking At My Door Late In The Night by joannes7(m): 11:14am On Apr 13, 2022 |
Your a proper ass I swear! RealGboy: I was enjoying my night rest when I heard a loud knock on my door .around 1am this morning The knocks were so loud that I jumped up .. the first thing that came to my mind was armed robbers ,
Then I heard my name , the voice was that of My single neighbor.. but what could be the problem I asked myself .
I jumped to the sitting room and try checking the windows to be sure she was not followed , normally I would have pretended to be fast asleep but this my neighbor was actually nice to me.. Easy going and very respectful....
I took a leap of faith and opened my doors ,
She rushed in.
" Bros please sorry to bother you this late , but there is a snake in my kitchen, come and help me kill it "... she begged with fear in her eyes
Omo I weak...
If there is anything I fear more than God then it has to be snakes ... The name snake alone sends shivers down my spine...
I stepped back from her a bit cos only God knows if the same snake had not followed her into my house or am I hearing double ?..
' sorry what did you say is in your kitchen again '... I asked hoping and praying she says snails and not snakes ....
"I said a long black snake is in my kitchen ,I woke up to get water from the fridge when I saw it ,I ran out immediately ,please come help me kill it my daughter is still inside sleeping"....
The first thought that came to my mind was
"What kind of mother run out of the house leaving her daughter inside with a snake "....
And why on earth did this woman think I'm the best person to call to kill a snake ..me that fear rat ..not to talk of snake...
After much thinking I decided to help her ,the woman sees me as an able man that's why she came to me and I must not fall my hand..
I grabbed the stick attached to my mop and a knife,I turned to her and told her. "LET'S GO"...
When we got to her door I did my cross sign ,if I die I die .. Although I have no plans to die yet but I said that to motivate and ginger myself
,I opened the door and walked in , immediately I was inside the door locked behind me ,
I turned and realized the woman did not follow me in
,omo...I quickly tried opening the door but it was jammed and refuses to open....
To make matters worse nepa took the light .....
Chai ...I started sweating immediately...there was no torch and I don't even know where the snake is at the moment .....
As if that was not enough I felt something circling around my leg..I took my mop and gave it a big hit ....I continue hitting whatever it is...until I heard a baby crying that's when.I realized it was the daughter I have been hitting with mop stick....
The woman hearing her daughter voice tried to come in but the door was locked ..she was saying something about how I can unlock the door but my soul had already left me.... Na die I dey already.......
A voice says to me. ' Who send you '

They set up those accounts themselves, allow you to make some profit then bomb the account. Be warned. blackman007: As far as I know hotforex is a reliable broker base on the little time I've been using them, the point is that there is no broker without a negative review on the internet, if you play by their rules you should be fine... with that been said, I'm not saying they are the best maybe you should do a little bit of research to know which broker to settle for, all what I've said is based on personal experience with them....you deposit with ease and get your withdrawals with ease.... |

I know there are positives and negatives but men! and are there others effective means of advertising other than jiji? |

Family › Re: My Experience - The Scourge Of PHCN Estimated Billing by joannes7(m): 8:02am On Jun 21, 2018 |
Same thing in my flat. From 5k to 25k with a perfectly working meter. If you can afford it, go solar with an inverter. 300k or less net spend. Am already working on it. *uck nepa Emmerlee: Hello House,
The subject matter refers.. Guys what is really happening in Nigeria? Why are we all not making noise on the current grand fraud being perpetuated via PHCN estimated billing? What really is the reason PHCN is unable to supply prepaid meters to ALL households even when we are READY to pay double for each one? The unprecedented level of grand thieving that is happening in PHCN in broad day light defies all logic. It is unbelievable how callous we have become as a people.
I live at Kernel Street, off Amosu Street in Bode Thomas (Surulere LGA). As of January 2016, my postpaid PHCN bill was exactly N5,501.76. This was followed by a steady, continuous rise to N22,416.00 by January 2017 (407.5% increase). As of today, the 20th of June 2018, my MONTHLY estimated bills hover between N24,000.00 and N35,000.00. To be precise, the estimated bill given to me by PHCN for the month of June 2018 is exactly N29,760.00! In a country where minimum wage is N18,000 and house rent is paid by God's special grace.. What exactly is wrong with these people for goodness sake? How can you be doing this to us and be getting away with it because those who ought to care do not care?
I live in a 2 bedroom flat, I'm single and hardly in the house because of the nature of my job except for weekends. I also don't sleep at night with the Air Conditioner on because of health issues (knee related). I hardly have time to use my electric iron so I dry clean my clothes. My fridge has the popular advanced Smart Inverter Compressor technology that saves so much energy and can be powered by even a small generator. What exactly is in my small house that I should be paying an average of N30,000 every month to PHCN? I am finding it so hard to understand this level of wickedness and it's beginning to affect my sanity.
Before you ask what I've done about this please find details of my efforts at resolving this over the years:
1. I have been to the PHCN offices at Mushin and Ijora to complain (including their Doyin office which is closest to my house), nothing has come out of it. 2. I have written letters and sent emails to EKEDP (customercare@ekedp.com), nothing has come out of it. 3. I have written a letter to the Honourable Minister for Power, Works and Housing (letter was acknowledged as received) and a copy of the letter made to the Commercial Manager, Eko Electric Distribution Board, Mushin which was received with an official stamp by EKEDP customer care unit on the 13th of March 2017. Again, nothing came out of it. 4. I have sent emails to NERC (Eko Forum) on two different occasion this year to complain about this massive fraud going on in my area. The first time I wrote to Eko Forum, the PHCN marketer in charge of my area was summoned somehow because after that email he came over to my house to take an inventory of the electronic appliances in the house. After this he assured me that something will surely be done about my bills. It's about 3 months since that time and the crazy bills have continued. I wrote another email to them and they replied the following day that my request had been forwarded to EKEDP. Till today nothing has been done and the bills are still soaring high!
PHCN officials never come to the house to take Meter readings. They are just not interested. I was recently out of town for about 2 weeks with the house under lock and key but this does not stop PHCN from increasing my bills every month (whether there's usage or not). It may also interest you to know that PHCN officials, as is the norm of recent, always disconnect my building for at least 5 to 7 days each month following the inability of one of our tenants to pay up on time. Whenever this happens we all suffer blackout that last for several days while we wait for my neighbor to pay his own portion of the estimated bill which is around the same range as mine. This is so because PHCN supplies all the apartments in the house power via one cable that runs from the street pole to the building. Despite all the inconveniences PHCN will still proceed to punish us every month, with extremely high, unjustified bills! It beats my imagination how wicked these people are.
You are expected to pay up ANY bill you are given, regardless of the amount and regardless of usage. How you pay is none of their business. As I write this our power line has been disconnected again (all 4 flats) because one of our tenants is still running around looking for money to pay up. This is after I paid N30,000 and my next door neighbour paid N34,000. My people, do you really think this is sustainable? I'm tired of the whole thing. I feel as though I've been kidnapped and forced to part with my hard earned money every month. These guys are likely on a mission to ensure our monthly salaries end up in their pockets. The bills are still rising and will soon get to N50,000+ per month at this rate. Companies around my area (with lots of Air Conditioners and other heavy electronic gadgets) pay an average of N10,000 to N14,000 each month from my investigations, and three bedroom residential apartments with prepaid meters do not pay up to 20% of what I dole out to PHCN each month. why are defenseless Citizens being made to go through hell in Nigeria? I'm sure there are hundreds of thousands of Nigerians groaning from this fraud. Where is our conscience as a people? Is this how we want to attain greatness without the fear of God?
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), empowered by the Electric Power Sector Reform (EPSR) Act, 2005 stated on their website that it is the customer’s right to be notified in writing ahead of disconnection of electricity service by the DisCo serving the customer in line with NERC’s guidelines. PHCN does not write before disconnection. They are so quick to disconnect within 2 minutes and require us to pay N2000 per flat (N8,000 in total from my building) before they can reconnect, regardless. Who then are the laws made for? You complain, nothing comes our of it. You write letters to the authorities, nothing comes out of it. Maybe I should consider sueing them to court for all the inconveniences caused me over the years, but then will anything come out of it? I am Tired.
Maybe I should consider asking them to come remove my meter completely (they don't read it anyways). I'm tired of paying bills I do not understand. Any suggestions on how to handle this will be appreciated. Thanks for reading my rants, I really hope I don't end up with clinical depression at this rate. |
Career › Re: School And Work At The Same Time. How Feasible? Advice Needed. by joannes7(m): 9:30am On Dec 04, 2017 |
Its very, very feasible but difficult. I worked, and grew my business while still in school. The truth is you cant meet up all your lectures (maybe 30% of them), so you have to create a study timetable for all your courses. One trick i used then was to buy a recorder, asked my course rep to help me tape most lectures, then i listened during off peak periods at work. Its commendable and its gonna sharpen your focus and expose your main priorities. Give it a shot, but if it encroaches too much on your education, try starting a business. You can create your own time and schedule to fit your academic time table. Good luck! |
Travel › Re: Living In Australia/life As An Australian Immigrant by joannes7(m): 9:45am On Oct 10, 2017 |
tyosho: It will be nice if this thread is restricted to info about life in australia. Not questions on how to secure visa or gain admission.
My family and I made use of IOM to secure our travel tickets. We went with emirates and had a stopover in Dubai.Nothing special about the travel experience. We were entitled to 40kg per adult,40kg for a child and 23kg for infant. We also paid for 2 extra bags of 32kg each but i hear prices have gone up so cargoing is cheaper. You can cargo through certain airlines like saa, emirates and etihad. All in all we had like 12 luggages. I went with ALL kinds of food stuffs except beans(becos of weavils). With my food items,i put them individually in transparent bags and labelled them.Fish, egusi, dry pepper, garri, amala etc. Got to melbourne, declared i had food items but was not searched and was allowed to go through.
We opened accts with NAB and commonwealth bank but didnt transfer any money from nigera. We went with some cash and left the remaining in a GT dom acct and transferred from there to our OZzy acct when we arrived. We also opened a dom acct in OZ(commonwealth bank was seamless) for ease of transfer. There might be a cheaper way to transfer funds but this is what we did.
We stayed with family in Northern suburbs initially but got our own place in the Eastern suburbs, somewhere not far from Dandenong. We settled for the East because its quite busy, more factories and industries in these areas. If i dont live in the East,I will go for the North and West in that order.West is cheapest but people say it has a history of crime.I however have friends who have lived in the West over 10years and have never had any incidents.Anyhow, wherever you decide to stay is fine.Just get somewhere close to the train station and mall.
In melbourne, you can use your naija license for 6months.My husband passed his victoria drivers test on first attempt,i havnt tried yet for my drivers license.People say though that it can be quite tough cos i know someone who failed 5times!I was able to start driving within 2months of getting here.Just remember, you drive on the left always.
No ideas on how mortgages work but when choosing a neighborhood, also consider ones with good schools if you have kids.If your kids are still of daycare age(below 5),use careforkids.com.au to compare prices, reviews etc.
Settling in was not bad for me cos i had friends and family here already. My kids settled fine as well.
Upon arrival; Get a mobile sim(i use lebara) Apply for TFN Open a bank account or go and activate the one you opened from Nigeria Go to centerlink and medicare for registration Get a travel card(MYki card if in melbourne).
Update your linkedin profile and make it very appealing to recruiters. You can also search for recruiters on Linkedin.
With regards to work, there is always something to do.It might not be want you want initially but there is work. Some people start off working at factories, aged care homes, disability and support centres etc until they eventually get what they want. Some people also end up going into nursing, community welfare, policing etc.But like i said,if you dont mind chopping humble pie to start somewhere earning money with these blue collar jobs, you will be okay.I know people who have houses with money earned from these blue collar professions. There is dignity of labour here so people dont care what job you do to earn money.
For transportation,if you can afford it,pls plan to buy a car asap(carsales.com.au,gumtreee.com.au).please buy cars with roadworthiness and valid registration(at least 6months).If no car,you can use the metro system until you can afford to get a car here.
For housing,a friend referred us to her agent who leased us an apartment even though we didnt have jobs at the time. She accepted our bank statements as proof of income. We pay just a little below 2k monthly as rent.
Then i also just found out about NRAS housing scheme from a colleague days back. Its for families who fall within a certain income threshold.IF your rent was like 350,you would pay like 260 and the govt will pay the balance.I dont have much info as i dont qualify anymore since hubby and I both work now.But im certain most freshbies would qualify.
With furnishing the house,we went across gumtree.com(for people who were selling their furniture due relocation or other reasons),kmart stores( for kitchen items),bestbuy.com(this is a company that sells new electronics at reduced prices because they have scratches or marks on them;there are plenty stores like that but this is the one i patronised) and ikea stores(for kitchen and beddings)
For people that dont mind as well,in order to save costs, you can patronise Salvos stores(its a charity shop that all kinds of household items in great condition) Thanks for taking the time to write this. But hows the IT scenario over there? |
