( Benin republic, Cameroon, Niger and chad) their drivers use our Nigerian ports and our drivers delivered goods to those countries with much confusion. It made much sense to make that change. America and Britain are simply proud and feel important so they refuse to change from their imperial systems. It is the same with metric system; only in America and UK do you hear of awkward measurements in miles, pounds ,stones , ounces and inches.
