tomialph: Nice car but this is not an 09 avensis. I stand corrected.Seconded! And whatz a brand new car doing in a mechanic workshop. |
jodeci01: Pictures would be appreciated as its not viewable on the download link aboveThanks for this. Does any serious business person need be told to post pictures of this product? |
acidtalk: What in the world is going on with Nairaland Moderators these past months?VERY NONSENSICAL VERBIAGE. Must a passport be torn into pieces even if its expired. What a warped reasoning. Do u have to provide excuses for a passport to be torn or destroyed? I have witnessed an instance in Pretoria airport when an SA Immigration Officer threw a passport across the counter all because the Nigerian in question was considered rude by the officer's imagination. The subservient mentality of a people repressed has turned a number of Nigerians into moronic idiots who are unable to understand their rights when it matters. There is no reason in the world for tampering with a passport of a sovereign country. In case you are still that gullible, the passport is an FGN property and the conduct of that officer is a slap on the face of Nigerian govt. Why not for a second put yourself in the shoes of the affected citizen instead of rushing to the press with your gibberish. The act is primitive, brash and barbaric. It must be redressed. |
Mr. Globe:Real warped reasoning. Otedola said the SSS provided the money yet you are saying he paid bribe. Do you want his story translated to your local dialect? |
Guys should appreciate the sincerity displayed by the poster here. And an allowance has been made in the pricing to cushion the burden of repair expenses. What exactly is now the issue. Do people want the car for FREE? If you are not interested, then move on to other posts. There's nothing to suggest a scam in this ad in my opinion. |
bloodless:I can't fathom any insult here. A serious buyer should be capable enough to put a call to the Seller, pronto! And the pricing doesn't appear outragreous except that guys will always complain no matter the price tag. |
DaraAlina:I believe you have relations in Nigeria and you are coming down personally. Let your relation or acquaintance commence the process for you up to the point of scanning your picture. At that stage, you won't have much to say and your accent will not serve any negative purpose any longer by then. Best of luck. |
The issuance of Drivers License in Nigeria has become a little complicated and as a matter of fact, you need to be physically present for scanning of your photograph at the Federal Road Safety (FRSC) Office of your choice. Beyond this, the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) must attest that you have passed a driving Test carried out by an approved Driving School. This is a mirage though but its a way for making money for the VIO. For a fresh Applicant (who had no previous Drivers licence), the VIO will collect up to N3000.00 (N1,500 for holders of the old licence) from you to certify that you passed a driving test. You will also pay about 7,000.00 at the Federal Road Safety Office (FRSC) for the licence which brings your total exposure to N10,000.00. If you give them N10,000 (about USD 63.00 ) at the FRSC, they will arrange the VIO bit for you and within 3 to 4 days, they will call you for scanning. Upon scanning your picture, you will be given a temporary license valid for 3 months. Its a piece of paper though. Your laminated license will be issued before the end of the 3 month period. I applied for mine (in Abuja) in October and got the original licence in December. Pls be advised that this practice now applies nationwide (since September 2011), so it will be futile to embark on any unnecessary voyage to some obscure locations as the FRSC is present in every state in Nigeria and its the sole authority in charge of issuance of licenses, at the moment in Nigeria. |
Does anyone recall the 'plunger' in the steering column. The smoothness of the turning of the steering depends largely on the looseness or tightness of the plunger and I mastered it to the extent that the mechanics became my foes. I then started making some little dough from effecting minor repairs on my own like turning the contact set to get the desired gap and achieve ignition. Or raising or reducing the ignition level. All I prayed then was for Dad to tell me to take the car to the mech for such minor faults. I wld just go to a corner and fiddle with some of the components and with a responsive car like the 04, I mostimes succeded in making money. Then you can adjust the accelerator cable to achieve desired softness and speed. Can just go on and on. |

People should learn how to communicate and the audience should be more articulate too. Running after empty ads doesn't show any modicum of intelligence. |

N/Landers, My 2005 Toyota Sienna (AWD) suddenly went gaga with the Gear giving up under two months. I need an Auto- Gear specialist who can handle the replacement at reasonable costs. I understand its a 13-Pin gear (whatever that means). I need to be sure its going to work when the new gear is bought, as the consensus is that the gear cannot be repaired. Pls come up with suggestions on the way forward. Can call back if you leave your numbers. Jodesky. |

MyHonour:Thanks for this sir. Seun, please action! You set the rules |
Thanks Seun, I thought as much. The Property and Auto sections have been quite busy and credible. I believe the subscribers will still be eager to keep it running. I'm unable to combine the moderating with my job though, but if you throw it open, I'm sure some guys out there might be keen to do a good job of it. Nairalist should stay! |
Seun, whats happening to NairaList? Its kind of been frozen for over a week. Does it have to do with scammers? I suggest you take off the 'Dating' bit and keep the others, this might restore some sanity there. My thots pls. |
