Can you explain in details, the problem with the 2003 -2005 E Class. I'm just about to buy a 2004 tokunbo E class. And its looking fresh and cool. My mechanic saw it today and gave it an excellent rating. The only reason I haven't paid is because the owner travelled for Xmas and he can't be reached on phone to provide the original particulars and his account details.

That feedback shows that the car registration is genuine but not yet completed internally at FRSC. It is not the resposibilty of the car owner but that of FRSC.
You will recall that these new reg plates are supposed to be made personal to the car owner but the way things work in this country, our Govt officials can easily get off with murder.
So, that's not a reason to refuse buying this car.

Pls be prepared for a very tiring and traumatising trip be it ABC, Chisco or Crosscountry. Its really not about the Trans Company but the border controls. Accra from Lagos is just under 350kms but the journey which shd have been done in 3 hours takes a whole day, no thanks to overzealous immigration officers at the different borders. They easily rob you of the excitement of road travel along the W/African coast.
If you can afford it, I will advise you go by air. Aero does about 30k return.
