Statement of this nature is inflammatory. kindly desist from it. Whether you are Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba- We are all Nigerians. Nobody denounced the fact that you were not brutalised. However, Ojukwu was part of the ugly equation. He ought not to have declared a war which unfortunately he could not finish. He probably relied on the British and Portuges for support which did not stand up to the challenge he was faced with. He only succeeded in compounding the problems of innocent young Igbo citizens. He should have done more for them when he returned from exile in Gabon. My advise is that, we should all try as much as humanly possible, to forget the past to pave way for our future. Interestingly, democracy is now here with us to stay. Everybody, especially the Igbos should get busy and work out how they could benefit from the present climate, so as not to be a looser in all. @feyisan I appreciate your approach but please get some facts straight, there have been worse posts against igbo people on this thread and those pencil d.cks who have been posting crap here are shouting for the world to hear that Igbos deserved to get murdered because they caused the coup in 1966, the civil war, the price of oil, drought in ethiopia and every single thing they can imagine. ojukwu had severe limitations as a war-time leader, i almost didnt exist because of his crazy ego but he had a REAL CAUSE to fight for, even if he may have made a mess of it. The truth is that igbos have been getting on with it since 1970. economically things are in order politically it seems only the dregs like ojo maduekwe and arthur nzeribe ever seems to come out but dont worry their days of relevance are numbered |
Gowon should respect his old age and shut his confused mouth. That S.O.B sat down sipping brandy and answering ''ranka dede'' on the phone while hospitals and schools were being bombed in biafra. To hell with him, umaru dikko and the rest of that disgraced generation. We have seen what good they had in store for their Nigeria. As for Gowon his beloved Jos is now under siege and he may live to see it taken over by his masters finally. |
1. IBB: that gap toothed demon effectively fermented our already tainted and corrupt psyches and glorified stealing in government and corporate circles alike. He embraced 419ers, sponsored drug pushers and designed the blueprint for political assassinations with dele giwa's murder. In the end everybody thought it was and still thinks its cool to steal, kids in secondary school use their pocket money to do yahoo yahoo, girls took prostitution to new heights with millions of girls now into it full time or to augment their meager earnings. 2. Obasanjo IBB's BOSS): this incestuous beast served as lackey to the caliphate in 1979 and returned in 1999 to protect their ''heritage'' by agreeing to be ''appointed''president. 1999 was the most crucial year in our history as it was an opportunity to start afresh after abacha and he made sure it was wasted by dragging us back to 1993. Before this hedonistic slug took ghana-must-go bags to bribe the national assembly in 1999 nigerians were scared to embezzle because we wanted a change.when he did that evrybody knew it was biz as usual and voila! back to square one. |
1. Wayne Rooney- Transformed from a scary attacker to a terrifying beast of a striker and the best in the world right now. 2. Darren Fletcher- Without a doubt the most effective ''midfield disruptor'' today. If he had played against Barca in the UCL finals last season it would have been a different game. 3. Alex Song - Without him arsenal would have crashed to 7th position long ago. He's the only man of steel left besides gallas 4. Florent Malouda- Outstanding this season |
@fhemmy I hope not. It would be regular naija style to start well, get some applause and start messing up. Maybe we shouldnt praise him at all |
Ara ga gba Ndi ara !!!! Thats the way its done. Very impressive that he's not taking any crap now he's in charge. As for all those jackass ministers and aso rock officials who have looked down on and isolated him all this time, they are going to get burnt if they arent careful. Rilwan Lukman and Aondoakaa better sit up |
@poster you forgot nico gravity.LOOOOOL |
ABAGWOROOOOOOOO!!!! I biala ozo! In other words he's orji uzor's brother. Abeg say your source before I send an e-mail to birdman reporting you |
Dora Akunyili has taken a huge and positive step. She may be on the way to redeeming her image after soiling the hell out of it. I hate to say but I dont trust her or anyone who has tasted power as part of an evil cabal like we have today. Like a fat old thief said - ''Na siddon look I dey'' |
My beautiful yoruba chicks with their big bum-bums ![]() |
Interesting topic. Three years old but its really relevant especially with Jay-Z and his ''empire state of mind'' saying all sorts of nonsense. I made a decision to stop listening to that jackass and his protege kanye. Check out ''empire'' lyrics with special emphasis on the words in bold: Yeah Yeah I'm out that Brooklyn, now I'm down in Tribeca Right next to Deniro, but I'll be hood forever I'm the new Sinatra, and since I made it here I can make it anywhere, yeah they love me everywhere I used to cop in Harlem, all of my Dominicano's Right there up on Broadway, pull me back to that McDonald's Took it to my stashbox, 560 State Strett Catch me in the kitchen like a Simmons with them pastries Cruisin' down 8th Street, off white Lexus Drivin' so slow, but BK is from Texas Me, I'm out that Bed-Stuy, home of that boy Biggie Now I live on billboard and I brought my boys with me Say whatup to Ty-Ty, still sippin' mai tai's Sittin' courtside, Knicks & Nets give me high five Nigga I be Spike'd out, I could trip a referee Tell by my attitude that I'm most definitely from, New York Concrete jungle where dreams are made of There's nothin' you can't do Now you're in New York These streets will make you feel brand new Big lights will inspire you Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York Catch me at the X with OG at a Yankee game Shit, I made the Yankee hat more famous then a Yankee can You should know I bleed blue, but I ain't a Crip though But I got a gang of Niggas walkin' with my clique though Welcome to the melting pot, corners where we sellin' rock Africa Bambata shit, home of the hip-hop Yellow cab, gypsy cab, dollar cab, holla back For foreigners it ain't for they act like they forgot how to act Eight million stories, out there in it naked City is a pity, half of y'all won't make it Me, I got a plug, Special Ed "I Got It Made" If Jesus payin' Lebron, I'm payin' Dwayne Wade Three dice cee-lo, three card molly Labour Day Parade, rest in peace Bob Marley Statue of Liberty, long live the World Trade Long live the Kingdome, I'm from the Empire St. that's New York Concrete jungle where dreams are made of There's nothin' you can't do Now you're in New York These streets will make you feel brand new Big lights will inspire you Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York Lights is blinding, girls need blinders So they can step out of bounds quick The sidelines is, lined with casualties, who sip to life casually Then gradually become worse, don't bite the apple leaf Caught up in the in-crowd, now you're in style End of the winter gets cold, en vogue, with your skin out City of sin, it's a pity on the wind Good girls gone bad, the city's filled with them Mommy took a bus trip, now she got her bust out Everybody ride her, just like a bus route Hail Mary to the city, you're a virgin And Jesus can't save you, life starts when the church end Came here for school, graduated to the high life Ball players, rap stars, addicted to the limelight MDMA got you feelin' like a champion The city never sleeps, better slip you an Ambien New York Concrete jungle where dreams are made of There's nothin' you can't do Now you're in New York These streets will make you feel brand new Big lights will inspire you Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York One hand in the air for the big city Streetlights, big dreams, all lookin' pretty No place in the world that could compare Put your lighters in the air Everybody say "Yeah, Yeah. Yeah, Yeah" New York Concrete jungle where dreams are made of There's nothin' you can't do Now you're in New York These streets will make you feel brand new Big lights will inspire you Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York To hell with all the talk about metaphors and dual meaning and all that ,rap has become universally accepted and a powerful weapon. If you ask me it isnt evil in itself but its been corrupted. Anyone wondered why only songs about sex, bling, guns and bragging (vanity) are the only ones selling |
That spoilt brat, Umar Farouk has probably cast the the last possible stain on our national image. Dem say we be 419, drug traffickers and so on. At least they never called us terrorists but now they have an excuse. The only meaningful effect will be that visa approvals go funny sha as well as even more intense searches upon arrival at foreign airports. Nothing do us sha, after all USA had some of their sons fighting on the side of the taliban |
@poster bone dat ting! MEND are speaking the hearts and minds of most Nigerians without fear of being termed ''politically incorrect''. If you look at the wordings of the press release they are stating the obvious. 1.There have been more killings from religous clashes in the north than the deaths in the N.Delta ten times over but there is hardly any long term task force designed to deal with it in the north. 2. MEND and all its operation thunderbolt and all that is small fry compared to the threat posed by Islamic fundamentalists in the north |
I just got an instructor in the art of Jeet Kun Do (''Way of the intercepting fist''). It was developed by Bruce Lee as a hybrid fighting style to project the personal strengths of the fighter . I just started and its mindblowingly hard and at the same time strangely relaxing |
Max Siollun !! this is very interesting stuff. Its very easy for lies to cover the truth but as always time exhumes it all. Nice one and keep em coming |
Its very very obvious that Shell's proposed exit is a negative sign. When foreign investors sold their stock holdings in many Nigerian companies before the great crunch people didnt take heed. For all the trouble Shell has had it still remains a hugely profitable company. for them to pack up ready to sell and run it means that they have done their projections and see doom on the horizon. |
Timaya is a thug. |
@nulldev Before immerse myself in the archives kindly take a look at this link. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/columnists/onabule/today-24-apr-2009.htm Duro Onabule lays it all bare and states it as it was. Zik's party won the election, Awo used ethnic sentiment and voila!!! many NCNC members of yoruba extraction cross-carpet and the rest is history. I remember an interview i read given by the Late TOS Benson where he gave reasons why he didnt join the bandwagon and cross carpet. I'm still digging for facts bruv dont run away |
I cant believe all the attention this illiterate post has gotten. The poster is probably 12 years old or something |
@nulldev ''flawed figures'' from a partisan source. Felix Adenaike (one third of the 3 musketeers of nigerian journalism as Awo christened him) was the head honcho at , you guessed it - ''The Tribune''. Everything I've read is as I've acknowledged quite engaging but the sources are highly biased. I'm going to look up the election results you mentioned though |
@nulldev Just read through it. Basically The writer Leye ige was quoting Felix Adenaike (a journalist) and gave figures that need to be reconciled though it makes for an engaging read. It however says nothing about Awo wanting to work under Zik as you posted earlier. It states that out of 80 seats the AG carried the day with 38 votes, NCNC/Independents 25, IPP-6 OIL - 2. That adds up to 81 not 80. The post doesnt give details about what transpired nor does it expressly deny that there wasnt any cross-carpeting. I'll have to look it up myself. Very intriguing reading I must say |
@nulldev Read the post in your link. It gives one person's account of why Zik and Awo were not friends and I cant argue with it. It however says NOTHING about the events surrounding the 1951 elections and the tribal magic that took place, enlightening the northern establishment of the gross foolishness of their southern brothers that they could exploit and have done for almost 6oyears |
@nulldev I take it that you have the facts that matthew mbu doesnt? |
Matthew Mbu's statements are especially heartwarming because it tells a true picture of Nigeria and what caused the country to fall on its head. I'm especially glad that he is someone that was there in the first republic and from cross rivers state thus a neutral commentator. I feel quite sorry for brainless young people who are full of hand-me-down ethnic bias and spout all kinds of crap about Igbos and how they ruined the country. They will NEVER learn because they simply dont have the capacity. Our rotten educational system has succeeded in keeping them stupid. We need our elders in this country to speak out and save those who maybe can open their minds. |
This news is really heartwarming. I have always said that people who do not travel out of their homesteads end up basing their life convictions about other places and peoples on the hand-me-down gist they get. Nice one for unity |
Bro the babe is all about the money and not about you. Its always hard when the babe loses interest but no worry .just start chasing girls with all youe energy by the time you ''wipe'' two or more you wont even remember this chic.meanwhile 'wipe' them well O !!!! |
@princekevo LOOOL !!! bros i dey trip for naija. The most populous black nation on earth has been ruled for the past year by a man who has been fighting for his life and we expect progress in our economy and nation as a whole. I'm sure the world is laughing at us as usual. I wonder what our so called ''smaller African countries'' are saying about us sef. Shame dey catch me for where i dey |
Adu Deme!! Meen i havent heard that name in years. Does anyone know where he is ? |
these blasted animals in uniform have got be stopped. even though it is true that the police are a mirror of our ''beloved'' country i cant rationalise the killing of innocent people for any reason. if the work no sweet them, make dem resign now!! abi no be so? We thought that with democracy all the crap and bloodshed would stop but since politicians are no better, its continued and even gotten worse. |
Hi people. I heard from two friends resident at FESTAC that Nico Gravity was accosted by some rough looking guys at a show recently and given a sound beating. It was assumed that the beating was tied to his highly popular diss track - ''i wan scatter timaya'' which he performed at the show. Sources say timaya planned it to discourage Gravity from making money off him and hurting his career. Can anybody confirm this gist? If true its really a bad precedent for artistes to get violent over artistic expression. Moreover timaya had better stay away from Ajegunle where Gravity's has mass support |
