Our over reliance on Osimhen might cost us at the end. If he continues misfiring, we are going to get kicked out of the tournament.

We have had coaches that gave other forward chances and they took it!! Aghahowa in 2000. Osaze in 2004. Give moffi or onuachu the chance to start.

Why are we so fixated on a striker who probably left his scoring boots in naples? Now they are coming up with weird excuses.
"He is a fear factor." "His aura made the defender score his own goal." Bleh bleh. Defenders are now aware he is markable and they are gonna mark him out!! Shey defenders come play for this tournament?

They would have nailed Paul or Chuks on the cross for missing such strikes.

I feel paseiro should have returned to 4-3-3 like first match. Start Iheanacho ahead of Chukwueze, Bruno at LB.

Why play defensive against an already knockout team? But I pray we get the best result today.

I hope to see Musa and moffi introduced in the second half. I pray to see osimhen’s masterclass today. Let’s bag the hattrick king Osimhen!!

Never knew he was once a winger. But peseiro isn't playing him there

Osayi has the tenacity and athleticism to marshal the right wing. The earlier JPES starts playing Chuks from the bench, the better.

We cannot have a left footed right winger with poor techniques & Insha Allah moves. Someone that cannot complete a 1/1 on or cross..

Yeah bright osayi samuel should be used as a winger. He I more effective than our wingers. In fact he and old aina are more efficient than our wingers apart from ademola look man.
Chukwueze in particular is talented but ineffective. He just dances with the ball with little end product. Our best wing attacker for now is ademola lookman

Bright Osayi will do better as a winger. At QPR, he was a skillful winger, very good dribbler , also great at tracking back..

Samuel Eto'o's direct message to the Cameroonian players after the defeat against Senegal:

"Dear brothers, I understand you. Many of you were not born in Cameroon and have never played for a club in Cameroon.

The advice of a Cameroonian coach is beneficial to a footballer from the start of his career until the end. You who were born there have too many rights over the leaders. Cameroon taught me that I am a soldier within the National team. I will die with this spirit.

Cameroon has just gone through humiliation just because love for the Fatherland is not 100% there. Excuse me for talking about myself. I could play two matches on the same day for the love of our beautiful country. I did it, Roger Milla did it and François Omam Biyick did it.

Do you believe that Cameroon paid us more than our clubs? Not even 1/10 of what we received elsewhere.

You play with too many reserves, what are you afraid of? Dying for the homeland surpasses all the money on this earth. Manga Onguené broke his foot for this country, he was better than me at the time. He continues to respect his country despite everything.

What I remember from you this Friday. We made a mistake bringing you in to play for the flag. But after the AFCON, things will change. We are going to do a patriotism test before having young Cameroonians play in the National team. Good continuity in the competition!"

Omo Eto went so emotional on this.

Same eto that was hothead during his playing days and barely listen to coaches.

Anyways, he just dey para. All the teams at this afcon meant business!!

All southern African countries have the same national anthem. And here is South Africa playing Namibia. They just played the same anthem twice. Next time ,CAF should merge the two anthems as one to save time.

This national anthem thing reminds me of Tunisia afcon 2004. They messed up Nigeria’s national anthem. A phoney version was played before the start of our semi final clash with the host country, Tunisia . I guess it was a deliberate attempt to destablise the team. I remembered Kanu screaming in anger.

Even when the right one was played after half-time, we still couldn't hear it because of the whistling by the over 60,000 crowd at the stadium.

Arab and middle Eastern fans are too fanatical.

So the one he gave to Osimhen that he squandered against CIV nko?

If after 93 minutes of play in two games,  losing possession 23 times from 41 touches , completing just 52 percent of his passes, and his only highlight is the through pass to Osimhen, then he's not Super Eagles material!!

Only Osimhen's aerial ability is enough for him to shine . Just be hoofing crosses to him in the box out of 3, one must enter. Go and Rewatch Morocco's game and see how they were lashing out aerial balls into the box 18 of their opponents.

We don't utilise this aspect of Osimhen’s game enough.

See Morocco wingers choking their forwards with beautiful crosses. Sarr made a beautiful ground cross against Cameroon too but chukwueze will dribble one person and hit the next person with a cross.

Not a single cross or accurate pass to the striker!! Mhenn, when has he ever done anything tangible for the super eagles?

You're being hilarious. As if Bassey have been world class over the past few years for club and country. His ill-fated time at Ajax is still fresh and the comment you quoted was on a match day Bassey gave Spurs 2goals.

Let's enjoy the win and not bring unnecessary negativity. We have suffered enough from minors getting results against us, going entire calendar year without a single win and even our world cup hopes in jeopardy. Pipe down

The loss to Tottenham you talked about was in October 2023. Semi made that comment in July 2023.
Maybe you guys are teleporting across the universe. I am not trying to spread negativity. Just stating the obvious, bro.

Meanwhile, I agree with Barryseal's assessment that Calvin Bassey is a poor defender.

E sure me die say most people here nor sabi ball.

I nor sabi ball too but some people here are worse. Most of them are quiet because they were eagerly waiting for peseiro to fail so they can come out and scream, ” we told you so!!!” They can’t even criticize Osimhen because of selective amnesia. 😅😅

Impressive win. A lot of positives, Aina doing what he does best, glad to see lookman amongst the best performers.
We should be challenging the title with the talent in our squad and most especially kudos to peseiro and the players but bassey was the man of the match.

He should tone that down a bit and focus on getting good positions..
