Tinubuadvocate: Ipob mentality they thought Christians will leave other candidates and vote their incompetent peter obi.
I just want CAN to apply sense in whatever they are doing so that it won't cause religious crises in the north next year.We are not happy with their utterances.
limeta: Is it also dangerous for muslims living in Christians areas? If Muslim/Muslim ticket brings danger what will Christian/Christian ticket bring .
No Muslim body in the north is openly telling their followers not to vote for Christians in the north unlike the way CAN is pushing.
limeta: People like you are the reason APC could not find a competent Christian in the north
See it's non of my business because I'm not a politician but let's apply sense ..When crises happens now,it's not going to affect Obi ,Tinubu or Atiku instead we the masses suffer ... Christians can make choices from many political parties available...If you know you aren't happy with the choice of candidates of a particular party, vote for another party or you abstain.... Instigating people using religion is what I don't like.
kettykin: This is exactly why a Muslim Muslim ticket is bad for the country
I think politics is a matter of choice...There are many political parties you can choose from...It's bad when a religious body starts instigating people openly not to vote for a particular party...it's this kind of act that causes religious crises and when it happens, the masses suffer.
kettykin: No genuine Christian will vote a Muslim Muslim ticket only fake and bastardized people
Don't say that...I'm a confirmed Anglican with many church responsibilities ...Nobody can be more Anglican than I am except maybe the priests.... Let's be tolerant of each other's religion....Politics of religion is dangerous now...It won't help those of us that are minority Christians in some areas in the north...
Tinubuadvocate: The same CAN that can't save the Christians except their pockets.
Honestly,I think CAN wants to cause religious crises because of politics and it's disheartening.I live in Kaduna north, a predominantly Muslim area but because of the kind of game CAN is playing, I will leave for Kaduna south a predominantly Xtian area to feel safe ..If anything happens to Xtians in the north next year, CAN should be held responsible...It's sad.
I'm a Christian...CAN can't tell me what to do...We have Christians in all political parties in Nigeria..I will follow my conscience to vote the candidate of my choice without any inducement or coercion whatsoever...As a Christian that lives in the north, CAN is on its own. Whatever CAN is saying that they won't vote a Muslim Muslim ticket is only on the pages of newspaper... Nothing like that in my church about Muslim Muslim ticket...I'm an Anglican Christian btw...
It's sad...It was a looting spree...Don't let us forget it was the Yahoo boys that started the protest. All the stores along Adeniran Ogunsanya were looted to the brim including bank ATM ooo....LASG really managed the crisis well by compensating all those that were affected.
wonder233: Liar! The killing of policemen, burning off stations, looting of malls, robbery, burning of BRT on the 19th of October, made the Govt declare curfew on the 20th. After dispersing those that decided to remain at the toll gate on the night of 20th, everywhere automatically became calm from 21st. All people were posting was lamentation on social media and jokes about wanting to travel abroad. Soldiers were on the streets, nobody protested anymore. Stop trying to twist history. Its just 2years, everything is still fresh with video evidence
Youve stated the fact.. Nothing to add...The whole thing escalated the moment curfew was defied...The essence of the curfew was to prevent further destruction of properties by the arsonist.Orile police station was burnt on the 19th.
FreeStuffsNG: We remember the victims of the lekkilies and coirdinated arson terrorist attack on Lagos by ipob terrorist group on 20:10:2020. The victims deserve justice
I could remember that arson started on the 19th Oct,2020 hence the reason for declaring curfew on the 20th from 7pm. The crisis escalated the moment the protesters defied the curfew.Orile police station was burnt on the 19th October while Olosan police station Mushin was burnt on the 20th afternoon.
INDOMIE9090: I tell you. Some land in Lagos are owned by ogun state(sagamu, sango ota, akute, agbado, magboro Etc. Make those two state just join together and form unitary govt
Even Agbara sef...I was surprised on my way to Badagry sometimes ago from Mile 2 going through Badagry expressway to Seme...You will get to Lagos before getting to Ogun state then Lagos again on the same expressway... Mile 2 to Agbara to Badagry...
Johnnyessence: Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke has been going to mosque before he went to politics fully. You are just lieing and blowing propaganda against the governor elect based on the lies you saw on the media. Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke’s a core Muslim. Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke has sponsored series of Muslim faithfuls to hajj. Their country home in Ede is like Mecca in Osun State. You don’t know their family at all. No wonder your comments here is full of lies and propaganda.
I know them fully in Lagos...I won't give you any clue about what I know about them as it will go against the ethics of my profession...But look at it now, sponsoring faithful to Hajj is what everybody can do...What stops him from performing the same hajj if truly he's a Muslim faithful since he has the money?I don't want to talk much because I won't want it look as if I'm denigrating his personality but I know him very well and I'm sure of what I'm saying... Honestly I'm not blowing any propaganda....I don't want to talk much about them...The good thing about the Adelekes is that they are the number 1 philanthropist in Osun state and that was what won him the election..Which of my comment is full of lies and propaganda? What will be my gain if I do that?
garfield1: You are funny.tinubu can get 40% or more.his party dominates the north, atiku is not popular plus kwankwaso will eat into votes of both... Apart from Adamawa, anywhere atiku wins up north with will he narrow esp in a three or 4 horse race.a big win in borno/yobe will go a long way for tinubu. I didnt say obi will get 70% in ss,I said se.ss will be massively divided...rigging can always be done under any form whether manual or electronic or with incident forms.. Ekiti and edo elections have always been tough right from time immemorial.it us difficult to rig in those regions esp sw.you can't use those regions to conclude.use north, riverine areas
I'm sure PDP cant win Kaduna ...PDP headache is LP and NNPP and all to the advantage of APC..PDP is jittery here.
Now,it's forget crowd...2019,he even had more crowd when he came to campaign...PDP won't win Kaduna for Presidential and Gubernatorial election...PDP that is jittery already because they know they are going to loose votes for LP... Moreover,APC is not ready to loose their stronghold...APC have left Kaduna south for PDP and LP to fight for ..I dey KD..
Johnnyessence: he belong to both Christian, Muslim and traditional worshippers in Osun State. The incoming Governor of Osun State isn’t a biased governor. He both went to Mosques for thanksgiving also. Infact he went to mosque every Friday to worship with Muslims in Osun State. Senator Ademola Adeleke is a Muslim man born to Muslim family. All the family members bears Muslim names too.
We all know him going to the mosque is all because of politics which all politicians do close to election period He's not even an Alhaji..Does Davido bear Muslim name? Davidos father is on of the pillars in their church...Infact he gave his church a large space they use in his Office.I know the Adelekes family inside out..The man doesn't practice Islam...Even whenever he travels out,he goes to church...As rich as the Adelekes are, sponsoring people for Hajj, Nurudeen hasn't been there which you know the pride of every Muslim in the southwest is to be addressed as Alhaji.
Proudlyomonna: OP need I remind you that We were once separate entities before we were brought together by oyinbo. We all have our different ethnicities with major spiritual believes and affiliation. In the National Project there's need to ensure equity, fairness, justice and inclusiveness to promote Unity,Trust and Believe in Our Union as One entity. If the Whole of SW are Muslim Majority that doesn't mean the Reality on ground must be the same with NE or SE or any other Region,at the head sit, fair representation is very key. Aso Rock is not Osun. Say to to Muslim-muslim agenda in a Country with diversities like Nigeria. #ENDAPCNOWSAVENIGERIA.
That's your opinion...I as a Christian in the north will vote for the Muslim Muslim ticket. Is it not the same people condemning Muslim Muslim ticket that are calling Pastor Osinbajo a fake Christian?
Johnnyessence: who’s this clueless lies and propaganda here, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke is a core Muslim man, his Muslim name is Nurudeen (light). Farooq kperogi lies and propaganda are Siamese twins.
Yet he went to church for Thanksgiving.Hes from a Muslim home hence the Nurudeen he bears but he practices Christianity.
inoki247: Most of dem wey we dey shout Christian Christian muslim Muslim still Jam for ogboni meeting....
Wu Cares abt religion in SW when we all sit down together and still do family meeting together...
We even go as far as Visiting the one that're Muslim to eat meat on Salah day and on Xmas the muslims also visit the Christian....
You people that can't tolerate ursef cause of religion can keep killing ursef....
The funniest thing is that those shouting they won't vote Muslim Muslim tickets are the same people calling Osinbajo fake Christian all because of their agendas to agend.
What the writer is trying to say is that in the southwest region where Tinubu is from, religion doesn't matter there and that's why we shouldn't blame him for nominating a Muslim as his running mate.
Just as a lot of the Muslims who endorse APC's Muslim-Muslim president ticket would declare a jihad against a Christian-Christian presidential ticket by a ruling party, a lot of the Christians who oppose a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket would praise a Christian-Christian presidential ticket as evidence of progress, of religious tolerance, and of the praiseworthy deemphasis of religion in politics.
You know how I know this? I’ve noticed that some of the very people who’re having fits of hysterical rage over APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket are celebrating the “religious tolerance” that Osun PDP’s "Christian-Christian" ticket symbolizes, particularly because Osun is a predominantly Muslim state.
(For the record Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke is BOTH a Christian and a Muslim. Let's just call him a "Chrislim")
For good measure, they throw around the sterile, mendacious cliché about religion being immaterial in Yorubaland in light of the religious ecumenicalism of the people.
Well, if religion is immaterial in Yorubaland, why would an effectively non-religious but nominal Muslim Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s choice of a northern Muslim running mate rankle so many Christians in the region this deeply?
Until recently, Tinubu didn’t even identify with Islam publicly, is married to a pastor, and ALL his children are Christians. He sees himself first as a Yoruba man before he is a nominal Muslim.
Apparently, religion “doesn’t matter” in Yorubaland only when Muslims are rendered invisible there. Then it suddenly matters when they enjoy some visibility.
Even though Muslims constitute more than 50 percent of Yorubaland's population, there will not be a single Muslim governor there after Adeleke is sworn in. (I'm sure the people of Osun who voted against their incompetent governor who happens to be a Muslim don't care, but since religion has now been centralized in political discourse we need to point this out).
The people who fought for a “Christian” governor of Lagos State (so much for “religion doesn’t matter in Yoruba land”!) would celebrate the current state of affairs as evidence of the “religious harmony in Yorubaland.”
Consequence-free invisibilization of Muslims in their region is their definition of religious “harmony.” Harmony comes when different notes synchronize, but their own harmony comes the same note!
The hypocrisy of the religious fanatics of all faiths is galling. The supreme irony is that it’s often headless, irrational fanatics who’re quick to call others bigots and fanatics for calling out their bigotry and fanaticism.
GODPUNISHALABI: osun state is not predominantly Muslims stop talking nonsense ...osun state is about 40 percent Muslims 30 percent Christians, 30 percent traditional worshippers
Don't say what you don't know about south west...Osun state and Oyo state are predominant Muslim states.
N3TRAL: Immediately after Buhari gives Wike a special National Honour on Friday, he will unveil the manifesto of our APC and the Tinubu/Shettima's campaign for 2023 will officially commence. It technically means that Wike will be present at the venue of the inauguration not as an APC member, but as a PDP member receiving an award from the President.
This is politics 101.
Today, even our amiable and gracious First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was singing Wike's signature song.
It is not up to 24 hours since Wike endorsed Tinubu's ally and openly said he was supporting Sanwo-Olu to be Governor of Lagos State for a second term.
Amaechi's team is angry because of the deal Wike has made with the APC at National level.
As e dey pain them, e dey sweet us!
May the Almighty God Bless you His Excellency Nyesom Wike for standing with the South when we need you most.
You go cause wahala this comment but it's the fact.
Demolakay: because u av notin upstairs to reply me. nd ur bereft of intellectual discussions.
Lyk i said, " show me d capital projects financed by d state government,to necessitate 716 billion naira debt, despite earning over 700billion naira in revenue".
Like Ive said, I won't dignify you with any response.
OsunOriginal: And villagers from a riff-raff region want to jump on nairaland to make noise where southwesters are having intellectual discussions?
That's my problem with some people. This is meant to be an intellectual discussion instead they turn it to displaying hatred...They won't want to learn.
Who will borrow Abia state loan in the first place when the governor is even struggling to build the first flyover in the state since inception.
Your credit worthiness matters which explain why most states with high finances usually go for more loans. If the lending agent see that you don’t have the means to pay off the loan, they won’t make the mistake of borrowing you in the first place.
Some people's comment on this forum determine the kind of person they are in real life...This forum is meant to be an avenue for us to learn but some some people have turned it to something else all because of hatred and when you try to correct them, they start to abuse you.
LegendHero: Why is it that IPOB terrorists generally are bitter people?
Lagos recorded that high lead and instead of at least commending the government on the topic, you had to smuggle Tinubu in to show your bitterness.
The lunatic Obi the fugitive that government Anambra couldn’t set up a clear path for the state revenue to grow which led to Soludo borrowing over 100billion in his first 100 days as governor.
USA is the most indebted country in the world, yet they are the number one economy in the world. Loans does not neccessarily mean you are doing bad, it is what you do with the loans that matter.
In Lagos, we are building light rail, something your Igbo governors right from Azikiwe days never dared achieved. We attracted refineries, deep seaports, and etc. while your people continue to hate and hate and hate.
What has your hate led you to?
Thanks for this...In addition, the more loan you have shows you are credit worthy...Creditors are always willing to do business with you... Infact they will be begging you because they know you have the means to pay back..
