dottyeah:
I stopped watching the moment I got to the part the speaker said he was witch hunted because he was Igbo (emotional blackmail)

Now let me debunk their lies

- 100yrs ago, entire place was land owned by the Oniru family.

- Over a century the beach was lost to the ocean till the erosion started threatening VI till early 2000s

- 2003- BAT engaged Hitech to build the “Wall of Lagos”, reclaim the land and build Eko Atlantic. Reached agreement with Oniru before project on ownership of the land to be reclaimed.

- 2007ish- the idea of the coastal road was birthed, to start from Eko Atlantic.

- 2007 Landmark bought property backing the “ocean” which is e basically land that based on plan will be reclaimed. With a clearly marked fence that ends just before the water that based on plan will be reclaimed.

- - 2017 ish Landmark went to his “backyard and created a football pitch” on a land that he didn’t buy and was collecting money.

- 2018ish- Landmark continued expanding on land that they didn’t buy, building shanties and charging money.

- 2019-20 Landmark grew bolder and was selling shops space on the beach to businesses. I have to emphasize, on the beach front that he did not buy.

- Around 2019/20 Oniru beach also opened up.
- Around 2021, LaCampagne also joined them.

- 2023- Lekki Deep seaport was completed. Opening up additional economic activity on the coastal line.

- 2023- BaT was elected, coastal Hitech revisited their old friend and proposed to start phase 1 that links Eko Atlantic to Deep Seaport

- 2024- project started, Road is supposed to pass through LandMark’s “backyard that they didn’t buy.

- FG gave notice to everyone including Onirus (that owned the land before it was lost to the sea) and LaCampagne.

- Everybody knew this day would come, so everybody Jejely vacated land that they know they did not buy. Landmark said lailai and started media rounds.

- 2024- Landmark claimed they have $200m investment on the beach.

- Umahi visited and conceded that rather than have 100m corridor, the one at his side will be 50m, and gave Landmark engineering tips to retain the tourism.

- Landmark said coastal road should pass in front of property, not the back. The front is 2 line a road, the coastal road is supposed to be 10 lanes. With 100m corridor. Landmark’s proposal will actually affect the land he bought, if accepted.

- Last weekend Umahi carried on as planned. Destroyed the shanties on the beach worth “$200m”.

It’s too long, but that’s the summary.

Oniru Family land was also taken but no one said anything, the Agenda now is that he was targeted because he’s an Igbo man 😂😂😂😂
As i.dey read am, I dey laff...Maybe they sold the beach to Landmark...

How far about the #4 billion naira of Anambra state money Peter Obi invested in Oriental refinery since 2012...

It's not about ports being opened or not it's about goods allowed to come through that ports

There are specific goods that must come through Lagos ports pharmaceuticals, chemicals , fabric, food, drinks, electronics

They are many all must only come through Lagos

Same reason lekki ports would still not work
At least let your governors make efforts and have a port first if there is need for it...There are more than a million items that you can still import through other ports.

You people and ports excuse...Lagos and Edo state governors got approval from the FG to build their own ports and it was given...
If your governors know there is need for sea ports in your region, they would have sought for the approval from the FG.

It's not Lagos states fault that you people don't have sea ports in your region.

What I noticed is that those condemning the the FG for constructing the coastal road are from the SE...The only northerner that kicked against it is Atiku...No true son of the SS has kicked against it..
Why are the SEasterners pained that the FG is constructing a highway that will link the coastal states.
I'm sure when the FG starts the Lagos to Sokoto highway, they will be silent.

Now, the SS knows their real enemies with this kind of utterance coming from a particular tribe.

PoliticsRe: List Of Projects That Have Been Stopped Because Of The Coastal Road by Jogs1900: 6:25pm On May 01, 2024
9jatriot:
Let's start with Atiku's objection to the coastal road. Atiku is more focused on transparency. He is asking FG to be more upfront about the cost of the project. His objection is more reasonable.

Now to lamba king... that one is saying FG should not do the road because it is not a priority. Members of the obidient mobs have expanded on that to mean that all other projects in the country have been stopped just to focus on this one.

If your only source of news is this guys, you would think that there is no more investment in the power sector, whereas just a few days ago, the Zunger hydro power plant added 624MW to the grid. https://www.nairaland.com/8078221/fg-completes-switch-zungeru-hydro

Also, not too long ago, the 3rd main land grid was opened after weeks of repairs

Then, you have the Benin Lokoja road under construction: https://www.nairaland.com/8038895/fg-complete-benin-lokoja-road-within. There is no evidence of it being stopped because of the coastal road.

This is the man in the storm, Umahi trying to ensure Benin Sapele road is done properly: https://www.nairaland.com/8025488/umahi-threatens-revoke-benin-sapele-ologbo-road
Here is another thread of the road e Enugu 9th Mile-benue Expressway also under construction not yet stopped because of the coastal road as people like Obi would have you believe. https://www.nairaland.com/8048948/fg-begun-construction-expand-enugu

Meanwhile, Wike is working round the clock in Abuja to deliver projects before May 29th. If my info is correct, part of the projects will be a train service. Once again these projects were not stopped because of one coastal road.

One of the most troublesome road is the east west road, even that is getting its own fair share of attention: https://www.nairaland.com/7986508/fg-orders-contractor-back-eleme-onne

According to this thread, 260 roads are going to be under construction. https://www.nairaland.com/7875317/umahi-tinubu-approved-over-260
Before I forget, the Aba PH train service, was restored in April and is even offering free service from the 1st to the 4th of May, 2024

Similarly a lot of work is ongoing in the different refineries, power sector is getting attention but some naysayers who only stock in trade is wishing the nation bad have become minimalist like their oga who is only capable of delivery sub standard projects.

The truth is , if your only source of info is from these mobs, they will gaslight you into believing that the air you breathe is not good for your body.
Well done..

Honestly, I like the way Tinubus supporters are giving them back to back unlike the Buhari s supporters that gave them the opportunity to use the social media against him.

If u look at this picture, after destroying Landmark bsuiness because he is Igbo, they then rejoin the main route.

Now the same road is in front and at the back, where is that done.

when Landmark built that business the original design for the road was suppose to be in front, all of a sudden they change it to the back.

Duplicate 1 road into two just to destroy a Nigerian own business and then rejoin the original route.

Landmark should sue them to court to pay for the remainder of the bsuiness.

I dont think any sane person will invest in Lagos, when u can go and invest in Ghana or Sierra Leone or Senegal and your investment wont be turn to tribal bigotry

People dont come to Nigeria, they go to other African countries, like Ghana, Kenya, South Africa even Uganda etc. He should pack up Land Mark and move to another African country for the sake of his sanity.
Don't let us be sentimental here...Where the road is passing is not even part of the land sold to Landmark by Oniru family...Or do you think they will sell the beach to him?
If he's convinced that he's right, he should sue the government for damages.

Una don dey justify this calculated attempt to ruin someone's massive investment.
How is it cheaper? Do you know how many buildings would have been demolished if it's not aligned?
Btw, who sold the beach to Landmark? If he has the necessary approval, the minister an igbo man has given assurance that they are going to compensate everybody.
Do you know Soludo demolished several buildings along the River Niger recently without any uproar and no compensation.

That person also has never lived in Lagos or tried to travel from the Island to the mainland and vice versa when only Carter and Eko bridges wẹre functional.

That coastal highway is going to be eventually completed and hypocritical Obidients that joined their leader to complain about it will be using it.
My joy about the coastal road when completed is the reduction in travel time, reduced transportation cost from Lagos (the most populated state in Nigeria) to the SS..I think the minister said From Lagos to Calabar will be 4 hours...It means i can travel to Calabar in the morning and by evening,im back to Lagos without my neighbor knowing that i travelled.

And these is the fundamental issue with APC

PoliticsRe: Popular Obi Supporter Questions The Benefit Of 3rd Mainland Bridge by Jogs1900: 7:37pm On Apr 30, 2024

How much toll would you charge on that road

3rd mainland bridge takes 170,000 cars per day... Say this one takes 80,000 cars daily in fact 100,000 cars

Say you toll it 1000 . .. That's 100 million per day

That's 36.5 billion yearly

Would take you 22.5 years to breaks even... That's not even adding maintenance and cost of toll collection.. That would shift it to 30 years minimum

You know what the interest payment of that loan would be after 30 years?

Even if it's at 5% the intrest alone would 40 billion

So it can't even generate enough revenue to pay intrest
All this shalaye doesn't matter in as much as travellers are using it..

It's not normal for country to borrow to finance infrastructure that's how u get loan trapped

You borrow to provide access to credit to your business community.. They expand make more profit.. Create more jobs pay back the loan

Then you tax them and use it to build infrastructure

The only infrastructure you are allowed to borrow are basic essential infrastructure like health care and education

Tared road is not essential, costal road is not essential, rail are not essential except your country is mainly into mining
Ehen...
This coastal road will be tolled.. meaning it's financing itself when in used that's why it's a good infrastructure to finance.

So you'd rather ferry the millions of people that cross the third mainland bridge daily so that the government can make money.

When we talk about economic benefit, we're not talking about making money. We're talking about the changes and impact on the economy that the project provides.

Let's even go with your ferry idea. How big would it have to be to carry the volume of people on the third mainland bridge daily? What would the traffic gridlock all over Lagos look like without that bridge?
Chief, without the bridge if they use ferry sef, traffic go choke on top water....

Before completion of 3rd mainland bridge in those days, though I was young but I could remember odd numbers and even numbers...There's were days odd numbers car registration numbers were allowed to go to the island from the mainland and likewise even numbers all to reduce the traffic on the alternative routes to/from the island.

I am not against building bridges and roads nope

I am against building them when the economy is dying or using borrowed funds to do that

My argument is this, in the present economic situation like we have now we don't need something like this, you have 2 other bridges

And we can have fairly industry that can carry 1 million cars per day , create multiple jobs, and generate billions

Focus now should be revenue generation increase and GDP growth
Mr. Vitalis, it's normal for countries to borrow and finance infrastructures. Moreover, the bridge is going to be tolled..It's not the FG that will finance it 100%
