knowledge4: The Catholics too are a false Christian group that have too many distorted versions of the true doctrines of the Bible. There are at least 30 of them but i will state three of the false doctrines here

1)The Catholics believe that there is a place called Purgatory after death,which exists for the expiation of the venial sins of believers. That the souls detained in Purgatory can be helped by the suffrages of the Catholic faithful (Creed of Pope Pius IV.Art 6)
That the souls that will go to Purgatory are those who ''depart with venial sins or that have not fully paid the debt of temporal punishment...''(The Cathechism 107)
The Bible refuttal is in 1 John 1:7,John1:29,Acts 4:12 which affirms very clearly that there is only one mode of expiation which is by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

2)The Catholics believe that some sins do not deserve the wrath of God.They claim that such sins are venial sins and do not incur spiritual death to the soul.their examples of ''venial sins'' include lying and stealing small things.(Dens Theologia,tom 1&e Peccatis No.154)
The Bible states that every sin deserves the wrath of God(Romans 6:23)(Gal 3:10)(Ezekiel 18:20)
Revelation 21:8 states that all liars will have their part in the lake of fire

3)The Catholics believe that the Church of Rome is infallible,that ''the Pope cannot err and is infallible in defining matters of faith and morals...''.The dogma of Papal infallibility was defined at the Vatican Council which states that anyone contradicting this is a heretic.(Pope Pius X Compedium)(Cathechism of the Council of Trent,Ques Xvii,Part 1,p.100.

The Bible states that no person or church on earth is infallible.(Ezekiel 7:26)(Isaiah 56:10)(Acts 20:29-30)(1Tim4:12)(Matthew 15:14)(2 Thess 2:3-4)

Sometimes I wonder, in your so-called 21yrs in the Catholic Church, did you worship any image? If so tell us which image. Tell us what you said to the image. Did you worship Mary, Peter, Paul and all the other saints? What did you say to them? Who told you to worship them? Your priest, catechist or your parents? Or did you just worship them because everything you were taught by all of them never stayed in your brain, hence your doing the exact opposite of what you were taught?

italo: Taking it one after the other: you said bowing to statues is idolatory. That's one lie. A bow is meaningless if you are not worshipping that object as God or a god. What if I bowed to a spoon or a fork, would that necessarily be idolatory? Of course not.

Secondly, there's a difference btw bowing IN FRONT OF a statue and bowing TO a statue. Maybe you should keep a dictionary handy next time you read the Bible. When Catholics are before a statue of Jesus, Mary or any of the Angels and Saints, it helps them lift their minds to God who has been glorified through the life of the Saint. Let me give you an example: I want St. Jude to pray to Jesus for me. So I go to his statue (which has been blessed and is therefore a spiritual point of contact between me and God). I kneel because I'm in God's presence and I say to St. Jude (not the statue): "Pls pray for Johnnie ZM that he may find the truth of The Catholic faith". It doesn't mean that statue is being worshipped or talked to. Otherwise it would mean that pentecostals who go to their church and kneel and pray are worshipping the church building and talking to it, wouldn't it? What about those who listen to Christian music and start to pray to God? Does that mean they are worshipping the music?

Don't forget that, the statue, church building and music are all works of art. The art is meant to help us lift our hearts to God whom we pray to.

Sabbath was originally saturday, Jesus wasnt born on chritmas day, he did not die on friday evenn to rise up on monday morning (that isnt a complete 3 days and three nights)the original festivals in the old and new testaments are passover, feast of terbanacles,etc. All these were fused into christianity by the emperor constaintan wen he accepted christianity, he wanted to unit christinty and all the pegan religeon then hence he created a hybrid christianity mixed wit pegan symbols and theories. Sunday was originally for the worship of the sun-god in exchange for the son-of-God hence the name sun-day. The mary and jesus images were to replace a goddess nd her son...and many more, and pls the church Jesus talked abt wasnt a physical building built on Peter's grave, he meant he will be the head of those that will preach the gospel to the ends of the earth...people shld learn to read and find out things for themselves abeg... The basic thing is a personal relationship with God 2tru his son Jesus Christ not Mary or any other 'saint'
