He won't beat u,wont abuse you, wont use bad words with u,respects your feelings,he won't destroy ur career, wont deny you finance unlike his strong counterpart who can treat u anyhow, even beat u to death and walk away.

And when he cheats on u(he keeps it a top secret) and when u catch him,he vehemently denies instead of saying "and so what?"am a man,and flaunts it in your face like his strong counterparts do

Respecting the fact that OP shared a financial concern which is admirable but I can only relate my own personal opinions based on my builds.

I have in at least two occasions refered the OP to professional builders of which I am none.

What I did on my personal build soothed me perfectly and was signed on by pros on my site.

We'll have to disagree that pillars are not necessary on small buildings.

There are two elements that I don't screw around with on buildings and they are foundation and roofing.
ok sir... but pillars are not necessary for small bungalows...
most people introduced pillars into bungalows because of parapet.

EgunMogaji:
The best decision maker is actually your local guys on site on the ground.

I cannot stress this enough.

PS: If it were me, I would at least do pillars for the foundation and terminate them at german floor level.
that will mean doing a ground beam to terminate the pillars? more cost, just for a 3 bungalow? or do u terminate columns at will in your build? & it isn't advisable, pillars are to be terminated at head level with head beam.
if the land is a dry one, no need for pillars, just good cement/block ratio is ok.
PropertiesRe: Advice On Building A 3 Bedroom Bungalow by johnson232: 6:53pm On Jul 09, 2016
EgunMogaji:
Yes. I'm shocked that you asked this question actually.
Go and look at a Spyder880s build that the ground looked okay but they hit water very quickly as they dug the footings.

Soil test is not only about load carrying capacity but also about the consistency.

I'm not the educator on this but I ask you to do proper research so that you can be better informed. If you care.
u are on point... just that i was much concerned abt the load carrying capacity. since it's a bungalow. i believe any prospective land buyer should enquire abt the land, before buying. people living around can help with useful info.

EgunMogaji:
I'm not an engineer but recently built two bungalows.

I used pillars on my foundations because even though my land is rocky it is on a slope.

A local bricklayer that is familiar with the area can help ascertain what is needed.

Please note that I am not saying that you should not consult a soil expert , this depends on your risk aversion. I did not consult a soil expert and simply trusted those with knowledge of the area but added pillars.

Picture of your blueprint may help.
hmmm
soil test for a 3 bedroom bungalow?

Thanks a lot egunmogaji, really appreciate your advice. Does it mean i can just use pillars for the foundation only?that would be okay so far the land is a solid and no sloppy land though.I'll attach the pix of the land in due course.
is the land a dry one or waterlogged?
if it is waterlogged u may consider using pillars, but if it is dry one, no need.
it is just 3bedroom bungalow.
just make sure your block ratio per bag is moderate. i would advise nothing more than 30-35blocks per bag. that's all u need.
@bold, u can't use pillars for foundation only.

Well I've said something reasonable even if I say so myself, so I guess that takes care of the "sharap" part.

You dont need to bring in the personality of cococandy or infact anyone else save for their thought as put down on this thread. The issue brought up is what should be faced. Again that knocks off your second point.

You are asking what I meant by economic abuse? You should have just asked nicely. What I meant was that as a married man, op didn't tell us if his bro has any child, what kind of job he does, if its enough in this present economic situation. We don't know if they are just married and just settling in and now have two siblings lumped on them - and they are not complaining, just adjusting.

Has anyone asked how they are coping financially? How from the ops post can you infer that his bro is rich enough to take care of them? You're not considering his situation. He might be a victim economically given the responsibility he's carrying while still being lampooned here by his sis.

Are you married?
yes

Despite the emotional hues and cries on this thread, cococandy ( and some like her) have made the most realistic sense.

Many are just wailing here ( some referring to their stories as if a lot of ppl viewing don't have worse); point is, op is here for advise, what would be yours? Pet her like a good child crying, form a pity party around her? Lambast the brother and tell her sibling is the real family ( am sure peter square is eyeing somewhere)?

Let's assume the bro is under a trance and the wife is a witch, what should op do? Come to Nairaland and look for who would lambasted the bro with her? To what purpose. I'm not saying she can't be emotional for her state but this isn't the time for tears, its not a nolywood movie; she should get a grip of her situation ( no mater how bad it is) and work her way out.

P.s. The fact that op brought the issue here doesn't mean that the brother, or in fact the wife, isn't the real victim here. I'm talking emotional and psychological victim, economic victim etc.

Too many naive emotional comments.
sharrap if u got nothing reasonable to say?
so when someone is ill, is now a wrong thing to tell them sorry?

anyone who has spent 2hrs in this family section knows cococandy & her likes, because of her selfish, bias & insensitive comments. i pressume those quoting her & her likes saw this topic on home page.

@bold, what are u trying to say?
if u are tagging a working class man economic victim, what abt a student?
