It's common that just pantry being attached to the kitchen.

I can recall one of my works...Leaving the kitchen and heading out to the veranda you will see a door for external storage.

I think for those duplexes and storey buildings,the stairway stuff is okay.
For design or building with large garage,it's good to have a mechanical storage, Material storage (underneath the stairway) and pantry for food stock.
These might depend on the taste of the owner/client.

If they even have the mind let them post here any of the quotes they gave to their clients on any recent work done and let others scrutinise it.
Amongst themselves they know what they are doing. I have at least gone through most of their online posted works and funny enough, those who know what they are doing are doing good and those who think they are doing JB work and using engineering terms to back it up for just no good reason just to impress their clients are only out to waste the client's money.

Quantity surveyors are trained to quote projects & i do not see them coming for your heads each time u guys quote project from your experience....So those who got experience in any area of construction should also be allowed to share with some sense of appreciation...Nobody is paying anyone here...It doesn't make sense to bash someone who was kind enough to share info with his own resources, that is my point...
