I'm good with your line 1 but I beg to differ on line 2. Culture and religion are the ways of life of people which they shouldn't be castigated for it. If the North doesn't like beer and bet then it's okay, they have a comparative advantage in some other areas like F.M.C.G and Telecommunications. They have good number of people who can consume the food of other regions will consume in years in a day, same goes to network. I agree with Zacch, if alcohol does not sell in the North then other products are selling which they can use to balance up. Being different should not be made difficult, if their religious background doesn't accept alcohol, it's their life, they shouldn't be punished for it. Mind you, amount spent on data and recharge cards might be more that buying alcohol, I don't have data to back my claims but I can tell you for fact that if 95% of the northerners are using telcos services then 30% or more are taking alcohol, so there is a balance.
