I'm good with your line 1 but I beg to differ on line 2. Culture and religion are the ways of life of people which they shouldn't be castigated for it. If the North doesn't like beer and bet then it's okay, they have a comparative advantage in some other areas like F.M.C.G and Telecommunications. They have good number of people who can consume the food of other regions will consume in years in a day, same goes to network. The South shut down operations on Monday, the west is taking tax from all the country because they house their headquarters. Don't be surprised that the North will be more advantaged in this bill. I agree with Zacch, if alcohol does not sell in the North then other products are selling which they can use to balance up. Being different should not be made difficult, if their religious background doesn't accept alcohol, it's their life, they shouldn't be punished for it. Mind you, amount spent on data and recharge cards might be more that buying alcohol, I don't have data to back my claims but I can tell you for fact that if 95% of the northerners are using telcos services then 30% or more are taking alcohol, so there is a balance.

This is what I do, I have a yearly contribution that I'm doing, It could cover my rent of two years from just one catch out, so I get a number or month close to my rent expiration and pay when it's due. My wife has also been very helpful.

My advise for you is to start looking at how to buy your own house, even if it is mortgage, atleast you will not be afraid of increment and it's all yours.

My guy, this smuggling thing is now very high. I just bought from one filling station on Apapa Road, if you see number of 50 litres kegs that are inside the keke napep (tricycle), they just use the black tapolene to cover the sides like when rain is falling. Guy, na Badagry straight.

Some women arrange kegs inside bags of rice to move this petrol.

Government should find a way of returning the money to us.

If all these things have been happening for ages then Nigeria can never be better.

I know that government could have made the price cheaper through pegging an exchange rate for sale to local refineries or selling crude cheaper locally. But they wouldn’t do it because they want to stop smuggling of refined petrol to neighbouring countries. There is no way petrol will be smuggled at 1200/litre to neighbouring countries. It is just not profitable. But government must do something quickly before they cause class suicide due to hunger and poverty. They must not also underrate the propensity to cause social unrest and revolution. They must do something quickly to reduce the pain on the people.
