PropertiesGenuineness Of Land Selling At Awoyaya Near Mayfair Estate by johnsonlaw(op): 3:42pm On Apr 22, 2009
I was recently shown a piece of land in Awoyaya. The plot of land in question is like 3 plots away from MayFair estate.

Please, I will appreciate if anyone with reliable information as to the genuineness of this land can supply such in this thread. My fear is that this plots of land may have been acquired by the government.

I am waiting for a response.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Condoms Should Be Distributed In The Church by johnsonlaw: 1:22pm On Mar 13, 2008
Hi guys,

I am totally against the idea for the following reasons:

1) It is sheer inconsistency if the Churches start doing that.
2) If you think you can not abstain, go get condom for yourself
3) The Church are to save souls not body. Your having HIV does not mean your soul is not saved and vice versa.
4) The Church, despite its failings, can not encourage immorality under any guise

Hi guys,

I am 'flabberwhelmed and overgasted' by the number of pages this thread has advanced to. I must commend you guys for keeping up the good work.

I am chilling out here in Bonny.

While it is sometimes okay to apportion blames when there is a conflict, it is better to do this only when you are sure you know all the details of the issue(s). The truth is I do not know what was the genesis of this confrontation between two otherwise 'worthy' members of this thread. I also do not have the luxury of time to try find out what started this all. I am sure that is not important. I refused to apportion blames so that it won't appear as if I am taking sides with anyone. However, I guess it is pretty obvious which side I am on.

I will still suggest that Kuwena boasts less about himself (his intelligence, good looks, aristocratic father etc.) If he is that 'good', he should leave it to others to blow his trumpets. Sometimes, I read contradiction in his posts. Let me illustrate. One of the problems facing this country is the deep-seated issue of godfatherism. Kuwena must be aware of this. He is always talking about the Nigerian problems or 'limitation'. In more developed climes, at least to a large extent,  it does not matter who your father is, aristocratic or commoner, you can aspire to be anything. Why is Kuwena telling us about his late aristocratic father? What lessons do we learn from that? Doesn't that smack of vain arrogance? Kuwena, you may call me a fool if you like, but I can not remember reading anything about your father before this. I am sure that almost all, if not all, the members of the panel that conducted the assessment centre may not have an inkling about who your father was. Maybe we are too young to know who your father was. Just maybe.

NLNG did not reject you because of your 'aristocratic father'. You were not dropped because of your 'british accent'. You were not found wanting because of your 'handsome' looks. These are not factors that were considered during the selection process. All your recent posts seem to suggest that those of us that got the NLNG job are 'unlucky'. Deep within your heart, you know that is totally untrue. Nomatter the bold face you are assuming, we know you were deeply hurt and still nurse serious pain over your rejection. If you like, try to stand logic on its head. It will not change the truth about what you felt then and you still feel. Your previous posts on this thread is a documentary evidence of that.

You are becoming too vain for my liking. What is the problem with you and age? What does it matter if I have worked for 10 years and I don't have a car? Do you drive the best car around? You are too petty and abusive. You need to be psychiatrically evaluated. This problem may be more than we are seeing. I will recommend a good shrink if you are humble enough to admit you need help. We all do. But now, you need help more than any of us. You are beginning to act like a mad dog, attacking real and imaginary foes. I guess everybody that made NLNG are now your 'foes'. We all got our job because of the Nigerian factor. We are all ugly and short. Our fathers are all commoners. Our chest ,

Try and review your post before you submit it next time. I am sure you will be ashame of it in your quiet moment. For those fleeting minutes when sanity takes over you, you will recoil with shame if you go through the rubbish you have been posting recently. I can not believe that such stuffs are coming out of a 'First Class' material. You may merit 1st Class academically, but if your human relation skills were subject to test, you will barely escape with Pass. You are a total disgrace to our University system! You are so crude and unrefined, so base in reasoning, so uncultivated in your approach. If you continue like this, I am afraid you may not move up much in life.

I am sure that after reading this mail of mine, I will have the honor of joining Opoks on your fool list. I am expecting verbal tirade from you. You will call me names. You will remind me of my not-too-noble birth. You will comment about how 'unbritish' my writing style and handwriting is. You will point out to me how ugly I am. You will yell unprintable words. You will scream blue murder. Be assured that after this mail of mine, I will not directly respond to any verbal, jaundice attack from you.

My prayer is that; after you calm down, at the moment when reason prevails over you, during your sane period, you will find time to reflect on the message I am passing across. If you do this, I am sure you will have a change of mind. Something tells me you are innately good. That you are only reacting and acting out of NLNG frustration. For you, this phase will soon be over. That is my prayer, even if you don't believe in it.

Hi Obeto,

I will appreciate it if you can send me dumps on MSCA. My email addy is johnson.yisa@yahoo.com. Thank you so much. I have been reading mails requesting you to send stuffs to them. However, I have not read any acknowledging the receipt of such materials. If I get mine, be assured that I will remember to say a big thank you.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by johnsonlaw: 4:56pm On Jan 07, 2008
At the risk of resurrecting a dead issue, I can not help but comment on Kuwena recent comments. As Opoks rightly observed, I am one of those that have refrained from saying things to hurt Kuwena. However, I consider Kuwena's recent mail as too offensive in tone and content. And I am sure I am not alone in this. I think we should talk and respond to each other in a more mature way. We should avoid getting petty and making boastful comments. What happens to the agelong adage that "empty barrel make the loudest noise"?

If it is true that you guys trade words on nairaland and then go behind to sort things out, I will suggest you reduce the friction. It is looking too real to be ignored. Your caustic comments and use of denigrating words is getting out of hand. I will humbly suggest you guys mellow down.

On a lighter note, it won't be a bad idea if you can share your picture with us. Let us see first hand this 'hunk' of a guy. Then individually, we will form personal opinions about your 'great' looks.

Hope everybody de kampe!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by johnsonlaw: 7:30am On Dec 18, 2007
@kuwena

It is soothing to hear from you. It is more soothing that you are not sounding dejected in your mail. However, I will like to give you a word of advice.

Disappointments is a fact of life. If things happen as we all plan, then the world will not be like this. What is my point? You seem to have your future well mapped out. Yeah, that is cool. But well you look forward to the best, have it at the back of your mind that the road may not be that smooth, that the journey may not be that easy, and that your goals may not be easily achievable.

Expect the best but prepare for the worst. Think of a bright day, but get ready for a cloudy, rainy one. Be optimistic, but anticipate obstructions in your part to greatness. I am no pessimist. I regard myself as an optimist but with the right dose of realism.

I admire your road map. But like that of the Palestinian state, there will be Hamas, there will be Hezbollahs to contend with.

So, when you plan dilligently for the future, when you draw a map for tomorrow, remember to include the ever present possibilities of disappointments. A word they say is enough for the wise. I am sure you are one.

@all

Any news from the Engineers that went to Bonny for induction? It will be great if one of them can find time to tell us what their experience is like.

Have a wonderful day brothers.

euphoria:
@Biolabee

Point of correction, as stated earlier by Kenosky, non-engineers that are Bonny-bound are scheduled for the plant induction as well, so you are not resuming slightly ahead of "others" grin, the plant induction is scheduled for guys that have been posted to Production unit which comprises of Engineering, Technology and so on
@euphoria
Please, kindly clarify further the information you were given concerning the induction. Below are my details:

I am Bonny-bound.

I am not an Engineer. I read Computer Science.

My offer letter mentioned that I will be in Production 'Division' (unit?)

Does that make me eligible for the Induction?

I need to know lest I miss out on this induction.

Euphoria, kindly reply as soon as possible. Attach the most urgency to this request. Thank you.

@kenosym
Let's wait for euphoria to clarify this once again. However, the last time I was at NLNG, I asked one of the staff members in HR about this induction thing. She opened an excel sheet, asked for my surname and searched through the list of names on the spreadsheet. She told me that my name is not on the list meaning that I am not 'eligible' for the induction.
To be double sure, I think it is okay for you to call them and seek proper and adequate clarification about this issue once and for all. I am more surprised to hear that you read Mech Eng. I thought all the Engineering Guys are going for training abroad and were all summoned to submit their Passport and passport size photograph.
Since there is no harm in reconfirming, I plan to call and reconfirm again. Before the executive training they planned for you and I, let's share in this one with the others. Don't they say there is love in sharing. grin
Kindly fill me in if you get additional urgent information as it concerns this induction. I can be reached on 07028073580 (Starcomms). I am sure you can afford to call now.  grin Start living the big life u've been ushered into.
No be small thing oh!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by johnsonlaw: 7:03pm On Dec 13, 2007
I am getting confused here.

Can somebody for the love of God clarify this issue once and for all.

My offer letter says that "you will work in the Production Division and will be reporting to the Manager, Information Management & Technology through your Supervisor"

It goes on like " You will on arrival in Bonny be provided, "

I studied Computer Science.

Does this in mean that I will attend the induction for Bonny-bound Engineers/Technologist in Production?

Someone please help me!!!

Hello people,

This is my first and most likely only post on this undescribable thread. I'm one of your 'silent followers'.(I'm challenging the rest of my category to come out grin)
I joined nairaland end of October and somehow i've been drawn to the great minds on this thread(opoks, kuwena(im sure u would get over NLNG and even emerge stronger),PGM, Kenosky, tombri, johnsonlaw, aniffy, wandel, tommylex, biolabee, pak, skeelo, pardon me if your name is not included.

I didnt write the test and therefore have no personal interest in NLNG but somehow i've found myself checking this thread daily at work because i recognise that great and intelligent people discuss here and i would like to learn from them somehow! grin

To the great ones that made it into NLNG, congratulations, remember the Sky is not the limit, there is more ground to conquer, don't get comfortable for too long when una start livin large oh!!! grin

To the equally great ones for whom God is working something unusual and beautiful other than NLNG, (it might not be apparent at the moment), congratulations.

This is one of your silent crowd applauding your individual intelliegence and greatness, I admire every single one of you.

Merry Christmas in advance, Please remember Jesus is the reason for the season and even beyond the season,

Cheers!
You can not imagine the effect your words have on me. You are the reason for my writing this. For if you can break your silence to utter those gracefully seasoned commendation, I should as well.

I am not really an active member of this dynamic thread. I think Kuwena, Kenosky, Opoks, thought, PGM and other great minds too numerous to mention are the the main 'culprits' grin

However, most times, I can't but marvel at the display of eloquence, skill, candor & acumen on this thread. It is comforting to know that despite all the negative things we hear about Nigerian graduates, most (if not all) of the active members on this thread are product of Nigerian Universities.

Though sometimes I am personally offended by some comments, I guess this is because I am a bit on the conservative side. I have since learnt to tolerate others no matter what I feel about their views.

Though the battle for NLNG has been fought and won, life goes beyond that. Like you rightly mentioned, there are other things out there more beautiful than NLNG. I hope and wish that the likes of Kuwena will get over their schocks and pick up with the resilience of an African man. For here in Africa, we have learnt to survive decades of odds that others can not live with for a year.

To the guys in da house that made it to NLNG, we will surely meet at the induction. I am looking forward to meeting with you guys flesh & blood.

I got to go back to typing my resignation letter.

Tosat, if you can afford to, kindly give me a call on 012711700 ext 5104. If you call after 3:00pm, I may not be at my desk to pick your call. Alternatively, you can send you phone number to my yahoo addy johnsonlawal@yahoo.com

Cheers to you all.

I understand some peeps were given their letters on Dec 3rd to resume middle of december. This group will also be around for the general induction on Jan 7th, 2008. After that they will head for overseas training and to Bonny when they are back.

Maybe there are different programs for us but call their office and find out more.

Do halla back with findings please.

Cheers
I called one of our contacts some minutes ago and he somewhat confirmed what you stated. The 'peeps' u referred to are the Engineers. The rest of us folks will be resuming on Jan 7th, 2008.

Cheers.

I think we are expected to resume in lag on Jan 7 for a one-week induction before we are whisked to Bonny. But you can call their office or ask them when you go there to drop your acceptance letter,
Thank you euphoria. Can you call me on 012711700 ext 5104. Or better still, you can simply send your number to my e-mail addy johnsonlawal@yahoo.com. I will be waiting for it.

Thank you.

Hi Everybody,

Hope you all had an exciting weekend. I finally got my letter on Friday.

For those of us going to Bonny, is there any arrangement for our transportation?

Are we strictly on our own?

Any information in this respect will be appreciated greatly.

Thank you all.

Good Morning All,

Just wonderin if any one has been able to find get more info about the peeps that were at the LNG office on monday

cheers,
The 'peeps' that were at NLNG office on Monday are all Engineers/Technicians. They will be resuming slightly earlier than the rest of us folks. They were given their offer letter that same day. They also might likely travel out of the country for their training, hence the need 2 submit their International Passport, if available.

I will appreciate it if members of this great thread can focus more on disemminating information that are relevant to the cause of this thread than throwing jibes at each other. Though these jibes are welcome distraction that can spice up this thread, we will be 'oversalting the soup' if they are not minimized.

Let's hope I won't get angry responses to this my inoccuous view.

Thank you all.

Hi all,

For the fellow that received his offer letter by courier, can you be kind enough to tell us which part of Lagos the letter was delivered to.

Thank you.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by johnsonlaw: 5:43pm On Dec 04, 2007

Thanks for that confirmation. However, have you seen the letter physically? I mean do you know what the content is like or is it going to be different from ours? By 'ours', I mean the rest of us that are not Engineers.

Thank you.

Hi all,

Gud morning 2 evryone. We are still awaiting relevant information from guys who were at NLNG yesterday.

My heart is beating with expectation. When are we getting our own offer letter?

When are we resuming? Where is our induction going to be?

These and many more questions need to be answered.

Cheers.

I have it on good authority that the guys that visited NLNG today received their offer letters.

Can someone kindly confirm or deny this?

I am yet to speak with a friend that was suppose to give me feedback after the appointment with NLNG today. He is in a marathon meeting and he promised to call me back when he is through.

Any information on this is eagerly awaited.

Thank you all.

Hi all,

I will appreciate it (and I think others in this thread also will), if the guys invited to NLNG today will make it a point of duty to give us feedback as to the purpose and nature of the meeting.

@biolabee: I have called your line like a million and 1 times today. Na so uns busy reach? Anyhow, I go still de call you till you pick up.

[b]@ tombri

O boi, how can one inform his employer when nlng is yet to present you with offer letter and you in turn signing acceptance. it would be a dicey thing to do at this stage. they should be knowledgeable enough not to send letters to our places of work yet. well my HR has not informed me of any only my individual referee.

I am sorry to announce to you that they appear not to be that knowledgeable. They sent a letter to my workplace referee who happens to be my Partner. Now he is wondering if I have resumed there without informing him.

Like I said earlier, this is nothing but messy. Anyways, e no pass God.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by johnsonlaw: 3:34pm On Nov 30, 2007
@euphoria

Mehnnn, this news is not funny o, lets hope NLNG does not make the mistake of contacting our present employers because I'm sure none of us have informed our present employers

That is exactly what happened to me. While I was still thinking of the best way to break the news to my partner, he got a referee letter from NLNG. I am still battling to clean up the mess.
If you are in my shoes, I suggest you find a way of talking to your employers.
