Depends on the company . I once interviewed with P&G in Nigeria wearing native outfit and cap to match and got the job among 500 other people from Ife. When I tried something similar @KPMG, that was the first issue the interviewer brought up, and despite my qualifications, I never got a second interview.

These days, I just get a suit for the interview as I am in the US, and dont want to explain why I have a parachute on.

I FEEL U, O JARE!!! basically i think in Naija a lot of stock is put in suits. imagine i was penalised 4 my project defence 4 not wearing a suit(i hate suits, did then and still do now even tho i wear them). so unles u understand d kind of company u r going 2 and wat they mite like then by all means were anything else but look formal.

parental pressure is good 2 some extent. but everything in life is supposed 2 be in moderation.im happy for my NLs whose situations worked out for them but im sure u have\had friends who faced d same kind of pressures and ended up making a messs(e.g. someone who is anatural artist being forced 2 study medicine or a girl being forced 2 marry some one she doesnt want\like because he is "good" 4 her). i thinkiit boils down 2 understanding. parents should try and understand their kids ie their strengths and weaknesses and kids should understand their parents ie their motivations, hopes and strengths. as we grow older our coooperation would.

i admire u for standing by ur principles. it isnt easy especially in dis country where anything goes. they are calling u back and u say u r confused but in ur heart of hearts do u really want 2 go back. as my fellow NLS have pointed out God took u away for a reason.it mite not be visible now but im sure it will soon. ur boss has not changed.he found a way 2 victimize u before and he will find another way soon.pray and talk it over wd ur real friends(not those who r thinking bout money or position) and ur boyfriend if u are in a relationship.there is always a calm somewhere during a storm

a dowry is never 2 expensive. so far as d 2 parties are happy wd it, its fine. now back 2 our case in question,she has a romantic ideal and he has a very stingy(if not insulting) ideal. i think they should just talk about it especialy since he is capable and she has d rite 2 ask her hearts desire.
