SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 4:17pm On Feb 20
True: Often times we have fears of aged players getting invited to the national team probably due to age falsification whereas aged players in other countries still help their various teams.

I believe she'll bring some form of stability in the team and maybe , the young players would learn a thing or two from her.
Schemerkhiz:
As a fan of Ngozi Okobi, I have mixed feelings about her call-up, primarily due to her insufficient game time at the club level.

However, considering Tony Payne's current injury, I will interpret this as a strategic decision, given her extensive experience in midfield and as a player, which will likely benefit the team.

Additionally, it is beneficial to have an active player who is a mother on the team, similar to what other European and American countries do to support their players who continue to compete at a high level.

In terms of age, the Okobi case differs from Onome Ebi's as Onome was already 40+ and without a club at the time, whereas Ngozi Okobi remains active, training regularly with her top-tier club. If Okobi weren't proficient, her club would likely have terminated her contract by the end of last season.

I literally found my way back to this thread because i learnt she was called up and I'm glad seeing someone attest to how good she is.

I miss seeing her play.

If the game goes to penalty, I guess the time will change.
Well, i like you faith for the fact you're somehow certain it'll end by 10 means it'll not go into extra time.

Busquet is slow yet he brings the experience no young player has.
There's a form of stability Ndidi brings to the pitch irrespective that his style of play is not flashy.

I agree with you that Ndidi is aging but Onyedika probably might not have fared better.
codemaniacs:
Thats why a younger player would have done much better.

Ndidi does not have the speed a younger player would have used to react faster.

From your opinion, the coach needs to move Ndidi to iwobi's position then remove iwobi and bring in Onyedika.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Jojodjo: 8:59pm On Nov 16, 2025
DRC were smart enough to cage their wings but the disadvantage is, that'll open their midfield
With the right passes, the super eagles should either find away to open up their wings or explore the gaps that'll be open in the middle.
Toylove:
We are not moving the ball quickly
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Jojodjo: 8:55pm On Nov 16, 2025
Talks like this irks me, na why politicians dy use us.
Ndidi who was superb in the last match is the same person you're saying is old.
Others are calling for Iwobi's head; do people realise some days are bad days in footbal??

Ndidi was been careful handling that ball because controlling it or clearing it wrongly which he sould have done would have led to an own goal considering the force that pass came with. It was a tricky situation.
codemaniacs:
Ndidi is old.

A younger player with more speed would have stopped that.

Ndidi could have also slide tackled the ball.

Do you have to type it you you select it??

I saw someone post somewhere that you'll opt for another local government or so then edit it after saving before submission.

I'll look for it and share just to be on the safe side.
Flazer101:
I don’t know if anyone has successfully applied but the option for local government is not working.
When I put my local govt area, it keep saying; cannot be found.

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Jojodjo: 6:03pm On Sep 09, 2025
Replcing Ndidi might be a bad idea because he brings some form of stability that's not really visible
COOL10:
We need a destroyer in that midfield that can either help or replace Ndidi, perhaps Onyedika.

Dele Bashiru was also non-existent until he gave the assist for that goal. Chrisantus Uche should probably replace him in the 60th minute.

Our midfield didn't create anything for our strikers and neither did our wingers. Moses Simon has been disappointing to say the least.

I couldn't count how many times Dessers made diagonal runs into the half space but Iwobi, Lookman and Moses didn't give him the ball, neither did anyone even try to take advantage of the space he created by dragging about two defenders with him.

Frederick has been amazing.

That's one thing most people on this platform fail to understand. A bad pitch can effect even the best footballer's game and it's frustrating.

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Jojodjo: 5:56pm On Sep 09, 2025
There's a reason why Simon makes the starting line up most times; he provides defensive cover more than all our wingers. Irrespective he should be substituted for someone.

Seeing people clamor for Ejuke and other players to be invited, i believe it's the same set that clamored for home based players when Finidi did a poor job.

This selection of players to a large extent is unbias so dead any talk of inviting other better ones.

If it hasn't happen to us, we'll always think victims are foolish or dumb and we'll be quick to sound wise.

They could be visitors cooking in a house bot theirs and i kid you not, most tenants in a compound don't know where their soakaway is located nor it's length or width.

May we not be unfortunate.

SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 11:44pm On Jul 09, 2025
Are you saying this based on one match played or?

I'll make a case for 18 and 13 been Ayinde and Deborah respectively . Ayinde though old, brings stability and composure in midfield that no one does .
Deborah is an engine room who's still learning and we've seen her perform well in some games

Demehin, been 14, just might be the next Ohale if she focuses more.
Saying they've got no business in the team is a shocker .
Idiko1:
Players with numbers 13, 14, 18 and 21 do not have any business in Falcons.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 4:49pm On Jul 07, 2025
That's another gem who I feel will thrive more in the Falcons team with time ( No disrespect Onyenezide).

Deltamani:
I will prefer to have Shukurat Moshood groomed in than Esther Onyenezide as Onyi Echegini is still young to stay on the big stage for a longer while…
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 9:09pm On Jul 06, 2025
True: However, Deborah Abiodun offers more energy which is needed in our midfield. We rely on two DM's most times in our formation and in case of an injury, Deborah will step in. We all know Ayinde is injury prone
GeneralDae:
Definitely Abiodun in my opinion. Ucheibe and Ayinde already offers that defensive midfield cover and they are more mature in their tackles than Abiodun. Esther Oyenezide knows how to keep possession and keep the attack going from the midfield. Her only weakness is that she always wants to shoot even from distance which can be managed by the coach.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 7:38pm On Jul 06, 2025
Ask yourself who she'll have replaced in the squad
Is it Ayinde, Abiodun or Ucheibe?
GeneralDae:
This game needed an Esther Oyenezide in midfield.

Watch out for Michael Tunde: Boy is a good midfielder that just needs little polishing to make it to the top.
