If I'm not mistaken last week or so someone here told us things similar to what Randy just said. NAWA to NFF huh
Deltamani:
Head Coach, Randy Waldrum explains how the NFF is actively making things difficult for the Super Falcons ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

What do you think of our chances heading into the tournament ? 🤔 🦅🇳🇬

smileyThank God you are not Randy.
I understand your point though; disrespect is a NO.
JohnBullMySon:
No bruh. No player whatsoever has any right to correct his coach. That's straight up insubordination. It's like having a soldier correct his officer.

Doing it on the pitch can be excused because emotions run high sometime. But doing it long after the match has ended, publicly, is something that should never be tolerated.

The coach has his own employers for a reason. If I were Randy, She would have left the squad immediately after that. Personally I hate disrespect for direct authority.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 4:27pm On Jun 16, 2023
She's tested and proven. I hope she shines this time too irrespective of game time.
Deltamani:
I only just the World Cup as a base of it all if not Ordega have been excellent for the SuperFalcons…

Check out, 2010 WAFCON she was mostly a substitute though but performed well when she came on.
2012 WAFCON she alongside Oparanozie and Ohale didn’t partake.
2014 WAFCON she was excellent, I can’t even forget the final against Cameroon, her excellent dribble and pass to Oshoala who scored the Second goal..
2016 WAFCON she was good too, full of running from both flanks..
2018 WAFCON she was arguably our 2nd best player behind Tochukwu Oluehi our penalty heroine.
2020… there was no WAFCON due to Covid and all that.
2022… She didn’t play much as Randy was still having selection problems but Her entire performance was average at best.. Even the WAFCON qualification game against Ghana the first leg, she gave the two assists to Kanu… and missed out on the second leg because of injury..

This season she have 5 goals, 3assist in 10 games, missed only 3 games because of a minor injury that kept her out for about 2weeks plus..
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 4:24pm On Jun 16, 2023
But to be fair, Randy needed that at that point; the poor results was too much. Coming from a senior player, the criticism would be taken seriously and positive change would be effected.
It's just like saying players should keep quiet irrespective of how the football federation treats them. Sometimes, someone needs to speak up irrespective of how unprofessional it sounds.
lovewins:
It was after the last WAFCON. Also she didn't just criticise Randy, she ridiculed him and basically called him incompetent. Fans and pundits can do that, but you don't say that to your boss.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 3:41pm On Jun 16, 2023
I guess she's just like Ahmed Musa who's most times performed well at the world cup
Deltamani:
FRANSISCA ORDEGA have been in great form for CSKA MOSCOW this season, With 5goals and 3 assists from 10 games that isn’t a bad Statistics for a Winger of her Caliber and she is comfortable on both wings as she can use both feet’s effectively, Known for her pace, low centre of gravity, and dribbling skills, I have always praised her for offering a "real threat," her use of pace with composure and her maturity. Despite her small stature, she also possesses considerable upper-body strength, which aids her in withstanding challenges, and retaining possession.

She is blessed with natural pace that makes even the best defences and defenders take a step back during 1v1 situations.

Yes she probably haven’t been at her best for the Falcons but we should also remember that Ordega have never had a BAD game at the World Cup she’s always among the top performer.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 2:02pm On Jun 16, 2023
You never can tell; age aside, Ngozi Okobi still has something left. I might be wrong but the composure she can bring off the bench when needed would be missed.
Danielnino00:
I don't think the team will miss Okobi..Let's be honest, she's past her best... She doesnt play the role of a AM effectively anymore...shes more like a CM that enjoys hogging the ball now .

In the absence of Ayinde in midfield, I think Ucheibe, Payne and Echijini will do the job..
Without Ajibade on the wing, we're fine too.. our attack is loaded well enough...
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 1:56pm On Jun 16, 2023
Definitely, Onyi Echegini is one to watch out for.
Not really familiar with Deborah Abiodun but would have preferred Ngozi Okobi to her ; at least she can come off the bench with some magic.
Deltamani:
Yeah yeah, feel sad for her too but again, it’s a beautiful Opportunity to see what Onyi Echegini would offer at the highest level as she had been rated as the one who would be the Breakout Player for the Falcons at the World Cup.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 9:56am On Jun 16, 2023
Too bad Ngozi Okobi didn't make the list. Would've loved to watch her at the mundial

Wow shocked
Schemerkhiz:
You guys just want me to spill, and if care isn’t taken I will have to call the Man behind Tochukwu Oluehi absence from the team, if not Randy always put her name no matter what, Tochukwu Oluehi have been left out of the team for some time now because of one single person that Called himself Demigod in that NFF, that’s one of the reasons you kept seeing an U20 goalkeeper who isn’t even among the top5 best goalie in her spot..

Tochukwu Oluehi is fit and healthy, anyway I can’t go in details, She’s back now after some kumkumkum as this is certainly her last World Cup, she had to do what’s needed for her to be back in the team… mk Ona try understand this my word.

I hope you’re also aware that Ngozi Ebere was part of the 2010 U20 FIFA Women’s World Cup Squad, though she play as a wide midfielder then..
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo:
Good team, good memories.
Wondered what happened to Ukaonu's national career; I think from that back line, it's only Ohale Osinachi that has gone on to represent the national team more.
daveP:
for these girls you mentioned, we don't need drinks to bring back the memories. My head wan burst🤩

Esther Sunday's closest clone na Ajakaye.

Those girls has eyes for goal and accurate shots whenever they played. I wished Ukaonu had a great SF career
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 4:33pm On Apr 12, 2023
Seems like it's fading indeed .
That team at the world cup gave me joy!!
Had a special liking for Sunday Esther smiley. Certaintly not forgetting Ukaonu's wonder goal from a distance.

I hope the Super falcons have a good outing like that team or even more.
Deltamani:
In a formation of 4-4-2 both were pairing upfront but if their Coach go with 3 at the front Ebere Orji always come from the Left wing…

They both played well together and were Stars of the team at the 2010 U20 World Cup and at the Senior World Cup too..
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 2:43pm On Apr 12, 2023
Is my memory fading or did Oparanozie actually play and performed well as a during the u-20 world cup in 2011/12 with Ebere Orji as the main strikerhuh undecided

Wow!!! Just wow! !! shocked
codemaniacs:
The team needs -

Esther Onyenezide
Alani as a sub for right back in case of tiredness or injury.
Ajakaye
Sabastine

Ajakaye should be tested in the current role Ajibade is playing..

Sabastine plays similar to Ajibade as they both like to hold on to the ball and dribble.

Play Gift Monday on the left wing and Ajakaye on the right wing. They both like to press and have pace to outrun defenders..

Oshoala is too injury prone for the S.F to be depending on her for goals, we struggled to win matches when she was absent and now she's injured again on S.F duty which is terrible.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 6:44pm On Apr 11, 2023
True though Ucheibe has ginger like Kante that is needed while Ayinde's passing too is required.
Deltamani:
No big decision here though, Halimatu Ayinde have the edge as she’s a better passer. But if it’s a game against Cameroon, Ghana and Ivory Coast that are very Physical, I will start Halimatu and Ucheibe together..
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 6:33pm On Apr 11, 2023
That's better, I hope they maintain this form though.
lovewins:
Christy will likely start as Halimatu's red card at afcon will keep her out of the first 2 games.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 5:11pm On Apr 11, 2023
Randy would have a tough decision to make between Ayinde who has been exceptional in the last two matches and Ucheibe, another midfield engine.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 5:06pm On Apr 11, 2023
Omo, Chikwelu paid her dues, age caught up with her and she should have left when the ovation was loud.
With the things you sid, someone who hasn't watch her play will think she has always been an 'oboro'.
elyte89:
Wow ,she was very outstanding in that u-20 squad , i love her style of play,so calm on d ball and can mark as well, hoping she would replace dis long serving olodo midfielder Rita chikwelu Abi wetin be her name, wey Dey play like rugby player ,I wonder aw dt lady made d team in d first instance for dt long period,I hope she is not going to dis World Cup,it’s better Dey leave d slot blank Dan taking her ..shishi she no sabi play😀,she go Dey force ball😀😀

That's not my point; I'm only trying to say we should not have high expectations for them due to the antecedents of their colleagues.

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Jojodjo: 9:07am On Mar 29, 2023
Exactly!!!! At least, deliver good results irrespective of the bribery.
elyte89:
No Nigeria coach is a saint…agreed

However even if u want to collect bribe,at less cover it up with ur intelligence shown on d team,we can’t be losing in both ways

Inviting ur own mediocre players and also losing important matches dere by causing pains to d fans

I will prefer a corrupt Samson siasia fine football team to a dumb ladan bosso/Salish team😏
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Jojodjo: 6:36am On Mar 29, 2023
Sir, it's even a mistake expecting some good performance from Finidi, Emma etc because over the years Nigerian coaches have shown affinity to bribe and selfish interests in selection.
U20/U17 is completely different from the Senior team. Most of these guys are only after their pocket by sending out invitation to players that'll remit.
Kog45:
Yes when we all believed that nothing good can come out of NPFL then 9th division player from Europe will get invitation....it all started with Rohr inviting a division four player to eagles camp....see we never see anything..Imagine Salisu and Bosso still coaching national teams when we have Finidi George and Emma Amuneke
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Jojodjo: 9:52pm On Mar 28, 2023
To those that'll come here suggesting other Nigerian coaches as replacement for Salisu, do well not to forget their penchant for corruption; no disrespect but most of the home coaches weve known are loyal to 'egunje'. Some players have been bold enough to speak out.

Nigerian coaches should reevaluate themselves first.

It's long overdue. They serve their nation for 35years (in good and bad ways) only for them to be given peanuts upon retirement; a bigger chunk of their money is been witheld by the commission as though they are toddlers incapable of handling money.
