Health › Re: Why Sleep Paralysis Feels Like A Spiritual Attack — Expert by Jomonix: 2:14pm On May 31 |
During my university days, I experienced it quite frequently — especially when I’d break my sleep to study in the early hours of the morning. Every time I went back to bed, it would happen multiple times in one night, that I get really exhausted. The solution that worked for me was simply rotating my sleeping position: I’d put my head at the foot of the bed and my legs at the pillow end. |

ajalawole: hope you also know crude price not always stable too. So who will take up the lost if crude price crash down. Even if it's stored will still be sold with the correct market price. I think you agree that price is dependent on demand and supply. The more available your product the lower the price |
Politics › Re: Lack Of Planning Behind Nigeria’s Fuel Price Hikes — Peter Obi by Jomonix: 2:36pm On Mar 13 |
VanuatuWycombe: The sector has been deregulated. Government can only store crude, via NNPC. Government can’t store petrol.
As I type, there are petrol stored in tank farms and depots all over Nigeria by private owners.
Oil is sold on FUTURES. So the future price a crude oil will be delivered to you is determined today. Therefore, oil/petroleum marketers sell petrol that they have on hand today, using the contract they signed for future delivery of oil, at a price they agreed today.
Ask people who trade derivatives. They will explain more.
Even if we keep fuel till tomorrow because of shock or short suddenly disruption, the price it will be sold can’t come down UNLESS it is subsidized. Don’t forget we are no longer in subsidy era. That’s why government is not keeping any petrol again. Sensible countries have strategic reserves of refined petroleum products. The USA have the SPR (Strategic Petroleum Reserve) and they have released 172 million barrels two days ago to manage market volatility. You people will shoot down anything because you dislike the messenger not that the message is not right. This is the key problem of Nigeria. That's why we have not got it right in leadership. |

EponObi: This guy will just open mouth anyhow to say rubbish. He never says anything reasonable about our issues. Always vague without substance.
He knows nothing. Nothing about this country. Nothing about geopolitics.
How does a nation prepares for external shock from a war in far away Iran?
The hike in gas and diesel in the US is because of lack of planning too?
This same war is causing the price of urea (fertilizer) to spike all over the world, na lack of planning too?
For someone who advertises himself as a market-to-market businessman, he knows nothing about supply and demand.
LNG spiking over 90% in Europe since the war started, na lack of planning too?
If you ask him how he would have planned if he was president, na rubbish him go talk too.
This dude is nauseating. Tueh!
How can Nigeria insulate herself from global shocks like this when no be say na we dey set price of oil or control price of oil? Maybe we should exit OPEC and start drinking our oil. Mtchew! What Obi is saying is that we should store petroleum products strategically so during period of scarcity the stored products can be released. This way the price fluctuation can be better managed. I see nothing wrong in that. He is saying the truth. Let us learn to accept the truth because it is constant no matter who is saying it. |

Romance › Re: Lawyer Warns: Running If Your Partner Dies In Your House Could Ruin Your Life by Jomonix: 2:52pm On Jan 30 |
Several years ago, I connected with a young woman in her 20s on Facebook and we decided to hang out. At the time, she was serving her NYSC. During our conversation, she casually mentioned having a headache. I asked whether she had ever had her blood pressure checked. Fortunately, I had a BP monitor at home, so I suggested we take a quick reading—she agreed without hesitation. The result was alarming: around 160/115 mmHg. I was genuinely shocked. When I asked if she was on any medication for hypertension, she said no—she had never been diagnosed or treated for it. I explained to her how dangerously high that level was and the serious risks of leaving it uncontrolled, including potential damage to the heart, brain, eyes, and especially the kidneys. I strongly urged her to seek medical help right away. We went to the hospital together that same day, where the doctor confirmed the hypertension and prescribed medication to bring it under control. Sadly, years later, she developed severe kidney problems that progressed to end-stage renal disease. She eventually underwent a kidney transplant. Despite that, her health continued to decline, and tragically, she passed away in 2024. |

Razzness: I was working in Onistsha from 2022-2024 and within that time even government workers were not free to go to work, schools were closed, banks too, even hospital you could not go, fueling stations, gas stations were were all closed every Monday. If you mistakenly forget to buy some things on Saturday, just forget it till Tuesday before you will get it again. It is just an unreasonable exercise, hurting only people in the state. Moreover, it is not even achieving anything. For how many years now, some people living outside South East don't even know anything called sit at home exist. It will even be better if Igbos all over Nigeria take to the streets and engage in peaceful demonstrations. Which way to go? |

Razzness: Sit at home is one of the most futile and irrational things I've ever seen. It just doesn't make sense to me, because at the end of the day it is your own people that are loosing, not Yoruba or hausa. Its just like those people in some countries that go on hunger strike, it makes me wonder "is it not your self, you are doing" instead of you to eat food and have strength to protest, you choose to starve yourself. That is exactly what IPOB are doing. It's a symbolic move to protest against injustice. It also shows that IPOB is not threatening anyone, but people are acting on their own freewill. Shame on the governor. |

Sexyrosey: The Loneliness No One Talks About
It’s a different kind of pain to feel lonely while lying next to someone who is supposed to love you. To be married, yet feel emotionally single. To wake up every day craving affection, attention, and connection… and still go to bed empty.
People think loneliness only comes from being alone. But sometimes it comes from being with someone who no longer sees you, hears you, or desires you.
I miss being wanted. I miss being touched with intention, spoken to with softness, loved with effort. I miss feeling like I matter.
I’m tired of pretending I’m okay. Tired of acting strong when inside I feel invisible. Tired of pouring love into a space that feels cold and silent.
This is not about perfection. It’s about presence. About romance. About feeling chosen, not just tolerated.
The hardest part is knowing that I’m still capable of love, passion, and deep connection — but I’m living in a place where none of it is returned.
And that kind of loneliness… hurts more than being alone ever could. It hurts to be alone |

DomPerignon: As per Obi's support base being overwhelmingly from his SE, this is a curse rather than a blessing as Obi is now seen more as a tribal candidate than a national one.
This is the irony of the highly paradoxical Giringor political ambition which has seen his own home support as his worst weakness. When the SW votes overwhelmingly for their son as they did for OBJ in 2003 it is perfectly normal. When the SE vote for Obi then something is wrong it. The SE is expected to be judged by higher moral standards because they are superhumans. The SW can be very stupid but they can be excused in such stupidity. |
