Impressive I must say. Been following your setup for quite some time because I'm trying to use it as a benchmark for my own off-grid solution in a couple o' months. Thank you for listing your load consumption. It was very beneficial as we share almost the same load setup; just a bit different quantities as follows
1x 2HP standing a/c
1x 1.5 HP split
5 x 1HP split
7x chandeliers
No desktop machines
5x 15Ltrs w/heaters
about 200yards of LED lighting
No electric burners (gas only)
Kitchen hood/Smoke extractor
Electric gate and fencing
1x 1hp pumping machine
1 water pressure booster
1x washing machine

Everyother thing remains quite (almost) identical to yours. Pray tell, if we swapped loads, do you think your setup would conveniently carry mine? If you had my load setup; what would you add to your inverter setup to still maintain power autonomy without worries? Thanks in anticipation.

Perhaps you should do an energy survey first to know your peak energy requirement.
This is what I did before deciding on the capacity of my setup.
The tool in the attached picture can help you or simply install a smart meter and study your consumption for sometime.

JK BMS now have data communication and you can link them all.

Anyone who has build a Battery Bank with this JK BMS should share Tech Specs and Pictures please. It must be housed in a well fabricated metal casing.

It's PZ.. Front view attached

Unfortunately there is no known brand as PZ, I found out this website with their office in Benin City, Edo State https://www.pzenergytech.com/

This is just a rebranded Voltronic Entry Point Inverter. I'm afraid you might not be able to change any settings on the unit.
Please contact the seller or the company via that website to provide support to reduce the charge rate.

I can't seem to find where to reduce the charging current as the [Enter] button on the inverter does not prompt any menu.

The batteries are Quanta Dry Cell..

I noticed the voltage getting higher and the current getting lower from 41A to 40A and now 39A. Perhaps the battery bank is very weak and the inverter is charging it aggressively based on the 3phase charging protocol.. I'll keep monitoring till as much as my fuel can take tonight and tomorrow I will continue.. Note: phcn is not available so it's steady generator so I'm charging it tonight with the generator and I hope this doesn't have a bad effect on the batteries.

Press the Enter Button and Hold it.
What brand of inverter is it, do you have the manual?
Rising Voltage and Dropping Amperage during charge is very normal.

Thanks again for all you do. I understand that i have to get 2 more panels and connect all as directed..

I'm currently charging the batteries with AC and I have attached a photo of the charge status.. My question now is the 40A the charging current or is it the current in the battery as shown on the inverter screen? I have observed for a while if the 40A will increase as the battery charges but it's been stagnant, sedomly fluctuating between 40/41A so I guess it's the charging current, which I believe it's quite on the highside

Try to reduce the AC charge rate of your inverter to 20A max so that you don't evaporate your distilled water and endanger the batteries further.
Please note that your Charge Amperage is meant to reduce to 0A as your battery charges. Once you hit 0A, it is assumed that your battery is full and no longer taking charge.

2x 50W Extractor Fans, turned on at Power Room Temperature above 35 Degrees Celsius, turns off once temperature drops to 30 Degrees.
ETC. (Phones Chargers, 4 Rechargeable Wall Fans, Others)

NOTE: All these I have tested real time on a sunny day and I was good.

Grid is available but only turned on automatically by a contactor powered by a Photocell sensor on really cloudy days. So i could say that i am partially OFF-GRID.

All Water Heaters and 4ACs are connected as smart loads and configured to turn off once Battery SOC drops to 50% and no Solar Power.

DIY battery packs are great, but I like data/communication and i am yet to see any assembly that have included RS232, RS485, CAN, and etc ports. Bluetooth options as integrated in most DIY packs is great but is limited to your presence near the installations to be able to get data.
So I intend to re-use the casings I have now in the future if i eventually need to replace my cells.

Thanks so much for your detailed analysis.. Bottom line is ; should get 2 more panels? .. Would 2 more panels of 400w or 300w in this case (making 6pcs connected in 2s3p) generate up to 4.8kw or more required to match the battery bank?

Also I noticed my batteries sometimes shows 26v (supposedly charged state) but it would not take a long time before it gets to about 23.5, the inverter alarm kicks off and then shuts down.. Does it mean it's just showing 26v but not charged and therefore not strong enough? My load is always below 10% so I guess the load is below 500watts (since inverter capacity is 5kva)..

I just want to be sure if it's more panels I need or if the battery is misbehaving.. Thanks

You still haven't mentioned whether your setup is On-Grid or Off-Grid.

For the panels, let's use a common logic. If 4 panels could give you 4.25kwh, 6 panels will give (6x4.25)/4 = Approx 6.4kwh.
So with your experience with your setup so far, 6 Panels of daytime energy of 6.4kwh should be able to float your battery of 4.8kw in 5hrs.
REMEMBER THAT YOUR CONNECTION IS 3S2P (3 panels in series in 2 places or strings, then you parallel the 2 strings)

In all fairness to your setup, I must be blunt to inform you that your battery might have been affected by a prolonged undercharging.
Thus the reason for not lasting long enough with a load of 500w.

You will need to charge the batteries with an AC source (Charge till Full SOC), Observe how long it lasts with your 500w load after this, then you can judge the status of the batteries.

Please review this response of yours.. You only described 5panels @ the bolded.. What connection (parallel or series) would I use to attach the 6th panel?

I'm considering adding 2 more pcs of 400W panels to it if that's what it would take to have a good charge on a daily basis. So far, I haven't been satiefied with the results. I have 2 12v 200ah Quanta batteries.. I particularly went for quanta at a higher price because I learnt it was better. I'm worried because my neighbor's system stays way longer than mine.. I guess cos I just installed mine and perhaps it's not charged.. Note: Neighbor has 3.5kva 24v setup with 2 12v 200ah felicity battery, while I have 5kva 24v setup with 2 12v 200ah quanta battery. Neighbour's uses 8pcs 200w panels while I use 4pcs 400w panels which I think it's technically same from calculation. I want to max out my options to determine if the batteries are the culprit so that I can return them ASAP.. Thanks everyone

I would love to ask you some questions to be able to suggest further.
The panels you have are not grade A panels so you would be looking at 300KWp per panel, that makes 1200KWp for your 4 panels.
4.25KWh for 5 hours (Average Sun Hours) means you were generating 850W per hour for 5 hours, So you see why I said you should expect a 300w from each of your panels.
Now you have 24V 200A battery bank which is 4.8KW, Your yield of 4.25KW can never be able to fill your battery to float before sun down. Meaning that you are gradually killing your batteries and on the long run, the cells will be weakened.
And I hope there are no loads during the day, because if there are loads, they are also taking power from your 4.25KWh solar energy and battery, making your batteries to get far more less energy to reach floating stage.

My final verdict. Check the direction your panels are facing, check your daytime load consumption, i.e.: get the total load that are powered during the day, your Battery is already about 4.8KW and assuming you have to recharge it everyday after an overnight usage.
Confirm how many hours you have sun at your location.
Get the appropriate panel capacity that can give you the total KW +5% you got from your total daytime load + your battery bank capacity.
Unless your system is connected to the Grid which makes it possible to augment your battery charging via Grid, you are bound to replace the battery at short intervals.

Oh my God. 3S2P means 3 panels in series, 3 panels in series. And then you parallel the 2 sets of arrays.

Please clarify your comment and fix typos.. I currently have 4pcs 400w so adding 2 to it would be 6pcs so how it the connection going to be for maximum results? Also, why did you say I can't get the best out of it??

There was no typo in my response.
From the Panel Datasheet you attached your VOC is 46.5V per panel. You have a CC with System voltage of 150V.
A series connection will give you 186V. So you can't do a series connection of the 4 panels.
A system that have a max voltage of 150V will have a starting voltage from around 80V or more.
Doing a 2 series and 2 parallel connection will give you 93V which is not going to optimize your yields.
Thus my recommendation for a 6 panels of 3 in series and 2 parallel which will give you a 139.5V and way above your Starting Voltage.
The implications of this is that your system will start yielding as soon as the sun comes up in the sky.
Otherwise you'll have to wait for intense sun to start yielding.

This is 90% of total capacity which is quite fair.

Did you use SPD for the inverter AC Output?

Nope.
SPDs are attached to the PV inputs and AC input only.
AC inputs and Outputs, PV inputs and Batteries all have breakers respectively.

Would you have advised otherwise?

What is ur pv capacity and type of inverter?

The picture has all the details. But since you asked.

PV is 15KWp (16x 600w Canadian Solar Panels. 10x 540w Felicity Solar Panels)
Inverter is Deye 8KW EU Model x2 in parallel
Battery is Felicity 15KW x4 in parallel though capacity test topped off at 13.5KW. So I have 54KW Battery literally.

but wait, is it because of the low voltage that happened days back?

Nope.
It's because the solar panel energy is oversized and the Grid has been made the last option to draw energy from.
So the inverter draws as much power as possible from the panels, Charges Battery if the SOC is less than 60%, Powers up the smartLaod interface which is where Water heaters and ACs are connected. With one ACs connected to the UPS Load interface.
If at night time and the battery SOC drops to 40%, the SmartLaod Interface shuts off, and if the Battery SOC drops further to 20% and the sun is not up, Grid interface is turned on to handle the energy demands till sun up.
Take a look at the attached picture. It's 10Am and am grabbed more than 6Kw from the panels already.
It goes up to like 15kw sometimes.

4mm AC OUT (LOAD)
6mm AC IN (CHARGING AND LOAD BYPASS)
4mm PV (DELIVERING ABOUT 14Amps @ about130Volts DC)
35mm FOR 48V BATTERY

For Growatt vs Felicity: Growatt Is better, There are Felicity models that beats Growatt but are not for African Markets.

Good morning house.. Please I need some technical support on how to connect 4 pcs of 400W solar panels to achieve maximum harvest..

Available Apparatus

4 pcs 400w panels (specs attached)
60A mppt charge controller (Vmax 150volts)

I think it has to be parallel/series connection.
This is completely a DIY so any assistance would be highly appreciated.

Just buy 2 more pcs and go on 3S2P connection. Otherwise, 2S2P is your best shot and you can't get the best out of it.

Pylontec battery is more superior than lifepo4 battery, hence the price difference.
If the Felicity can give you quality lifepo4 battery with real capacity that can take you for 10 years, I would suggest you go for lifepo4 that has more usable capacity.
REASON: In the next 8 to 10 years, another battery may likely come out that would be superior than these two and you may likely want to switch over...... If you were to compare pylontec 4.8kwh with lifepo4 7kwh at the same price, I would chosen pylontec.
SUBMISSION:Human wants are unsatiable.

There exist a better Lithium Battery than LiFePO4 and it's called Lithium manganese nickel cobalt oxide. (NMC for short)

Li[Ni0.5Mn0.3Co0.2]O2 as a Superior Alternative to LiFePO4 for Long-Lived Low Voltage Li-Ion Cells.

NMC are good batteries, they just really hate high temperatures. It is already being used for over 2 years in cold regions.
Lithium manganese nickel cobalt oxide (NMC532, CBP-52) has the chemical formula of LiNi0.5Mn0.3Co0.2O2 where the atomic ratio of Ni:Mn:Co is set to 5:3:2 in order to have high specific energy density, favorable rate capability for discharge and charge cycles, and provide a relatively cost affordable cathode active material for lithium-ion battery applications, especially for electric vehicles and other applications such as field drones, e-VTOL, and consumer electronics.

We hope that we may have the opportunities to utilize some of these techs due to regional, natural and conditional restrictions.

Baba it is about choice. As for me, I detest hybrid for now. Repairs, complexity, inbuilt cc can be pwm shocked , if one part get damaged it means the whole system need to be admitted by a technician. How long it will take for repairs? Only the gods can tell. If you make use of lead acid and is taking too long to fix, sulphation will gradually set it. With non hybrids you can have different spares. Use your head sha.

I am unapologetically a hybrid fan, till next life, Take it or leave it, standalone systems are gradually becoming obsolete.

Deye and Sunsynk and a few other brands are taking the lead. Their inbuilt MPPT are the best so far, they will suck the juice out of your panels before considering any other source.
The configurable Gen-Port option makes it possible to have your heavy loads turned off and on according to the battery SOC and available energy from the Sun.
Configurable "Time of Use" makes it possible to tell the inverter when to use Grid to charge your battery.
Configurable Protections from unsafe Grid sources are the bomb. For example you can set the inverter to ignore grid if the incoming Ac voltage is not within 200V and 230V. You can also tell it to wait for some time (say 1-5minutes) before accepting grid when "Nepa brings light".

We now have Hybrids with 1000HVDC (High Voltage DC Input) both on battery Input and PV inputs, meaning that they do little or no energy conversion or inversion on the DC circuits. Say you have battery banks of 1000VDC that can charge with 200-1000VDC source, and PV array of 800-1000VDC, so your HV Hybrid Inverter just passes the Voltage to the battery terminals without worrying itself. Blue Carbon has such function where you connect the PV directly to the Battery, Oh yes you heard me right. No external CC or Hybrid required because the MPPT is built into the Battery.
Many of these functions are not yet available on the Voltronic based Inverters.
People should not be discouraged from getting Hybrids, rather you point out the functions and safety features to look out for when considering a Hybrid Inverter.
To Prospective Hybrid users: Do a good Earthing, Get a good Stabilizer is possible, Check out the interesting features of the Hybrid Inverter you are about to buy. If all pans out, go for it.
Truth is, Hybrids are here to stay.
Please let's stop instigating fear into people who are contemplating on startups with smart systems.

Considering that Pmax (NOCT) of Jinko 550w is about 409Wp, 6x409=2,454Kwp, Which might not be sufficient for you on an cloudy day. But 12x409=4,908Kwp (Fair for daytime Charging and Loads), moreover 12pcs of Jinko in series is still in the safe zone for a 500V PV Hybrid Inverter during an STC.
Grid is no longer an option or alternative to dark or cloudy days.

I'm not happy with the behavior of some installers.
Two months ago, dishtech whom I trusted was supposed to handle an installation for my client in Abuja but he went for outside work, which took him longer time to return to Abuja.
I came here and asked for an experienced installer and someone indicated interest and dropped his contact as well.
I called and linked him to my client. Instead of him to go and handle the job by himself, he sent his boys who didn't understand anything about the lithium battery, even as I was monitoring the installation through phone call to make sure all settings were done correctly.
I was surprised to receive a call from my client few days ago that the system had shutdown. I thought it was lvd disconnect. We called the installer and the installer still sent his boy, who went there and told me that the battery wasn't producing power.
I called Dishtech who went there and realized that the battery type was set to tubular battery and lvd was set to 40v. Meanwhile, I set the lvd of the lithium battery to 43.2v (2.7v each).
The installer has collected his money and the overall cost of repairs is on my head now.
SUBMISSION: We should be careful of those people we call for installations.

Oh Johnson, so sorry for this terrible experience, but I will blame you a bit. You knew I base in Abuja, You know my capabilities, You have my number, you should have just rang me up.
But in all, has this issue been resolved?.
So sorry you fell into the hands of Engineers without Knowledge.

I had gone to correct an installation last year where an installer connected 2units of Felicity LPBF48300 in series, to 2 Units of Growatt which were in parallel originally. The instruction was to replace 8Pcs of Tubular Batteries with 2x LPBF48300. Thank God one of the LPBF48300 popped fuse immediately with a loud explosion.

The guy still went ahead and connected LPBF48300 in parallel later on without investigating the cause of that explosion.
The client later discovered that one of the batteries wasn't discharging and charging. And that was how I was contacted.

Moral: Be careful of Engineers without Knowledge.
