And why do you, personally, feel offended by my jab?

That wasn't a jab bro. It was a direct insult on the people on this platform. Go and read it again from a public user perspective.
You simply called us "Noise makers with no Production" this wasn't a jab.

You don't spit on my face and tap on my shoulder saying "oh sorry".

If you meant something else, there are a hundred other ways of putting up argument here. But if you don't want to accept that you insulted us, it's fine. Let's move on.

I can't place my head around your inference about PV Production here.
I am also a registered PVOutput User but for some reasons I decided that I don't need such logging of data to some open source hosted servers.
From the list you posted you should know that not all Nigerian Solar Users are on that list for you to have substantiated your claim.

This is a brief intro of my setup:

2x 8KW Deye Hybrid Inverters EU-Version.
4x 15KW Felicity LPBF48300 Battery Packs.
24x 600W Canadian Solar Panels.
10x 540W Felicity Solar Panels.

That's about 15KWp I have here and I do generate above 60KW PV Energy daily here in Abuja.
The top system on that your list didn't make it to half of my PV Power.
You can get my load list from https://www.nairaland.com/post/124283202

We are not here to flex muscles about who generates more solar energy or who has the most robust system.
We are simply here to guide and learn. You might wanna tag along if you want to get the best out of this platform.

Hello house, i need this Growatt CAN/RS486 Hub. The Growatt RS485 Hub with 8 ports is a device used to connect 1 battery bank and up to 7 Growatt inverters or charge controllers.
I don't if it's going to work with Deye, but I am willing to try it out.
This is because I discovered that only the Master inverter in a Deye Parallel Setup is able to read Battery Information (those who have Deye Inverters in Parallel should confirm this).
And this in turns reduces the solar energy harnessing power of the Slave inverters. So the solution to this is to make a splitted kind of Parallel communication where both or more inverters get their battery information individually.

Oh yes, that's why I mentioned that the kind of Meters we have now in Nigeria are not provisioned for this purpose.

I tried a test selling recently, it went well but downside is that the Billing meters we have here in Nigeria are not provisioned for reverse energy flow. Thereby making it impossible for you to balance the energy traffic.
Secondly, getting your pay for any excess selling might be a problem with the Nigerian power billers. So you might only be subtracting what you are selling back from what you purchased because it's prepaid.
A perfect solar selling system comes with postpaid kind of setup where the energy company serves you a bill after deducting what you sold back and pays you if you sold in excess.

ojesymsym:
About 20KW of installed solar power. Someone was saying it is now possible to sell back to the grid in one of these energy bills that were recently signed. With this kind of power you are on your way to.

You also get mind put water heater o. Personally I would have opted for solar water heaters instead.

Nice one, this is really massive... No more than massive. I do not even want to press calculator on top the matter.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by jonescosmos: 12:45am On Jul 08, 2023
Nice Question Bro.

This is because the 16KW I had was from JustStandout (A dealer in Lekki, Lagos), and I noticed that once I go Off-Grid the Inverter could not handle load above 12KW, I did everything I could but no avail. I contacted JustStandout, they could not help, they kept upgrading the inverter from one firmware to the other. I contacted Deye Support and they upgraded the Inverter to the Latest Firmware and the problem continued.

I disturbed Deye Support so much until they asked me to open up the inverter and send pictures of the PCBs inside the Inverter.
I did exactly so and I discovered that the power board inside the Inverter is of the 15KW US Version which is the SunSynk 15k-2P and has a UPS Backup load power of 12Kw Max. Which was why I could not go beyond 12Kw while Off-Grid.

The Inverter was sold to me as the 16KW EU Version which has UPS Backup Power of 16KW only to discover that the PCB is US version. It was clear to me that either JustStandout has scammed me or they got scammed by their supplier and they passed it on to me. Because I engaged them after this discovery and they sounded not to have any idea about these technicalities.

After weeks of words battle with them, I decided to place an Express Order from Deye for the 2units of 8KW EU Version which each has a UPS power of 8KW, because I didn't want to fall another victim to the 16KW Scam.

I received them and deployed them as shown in the picture and then I decided to ship out the 16KW to my house in the Village to be deployed later this year. Since I don't base there. At least no yet. hahahaha

As for the CC, I use the inbuilt MPPTs. Although I miss the inbuilt 3x 290A MPPTs of the 16KW because the 8KW has inbuilt 2x 190A MPPTs each. The 16KW starts sucking solar energy as early as 6am as is capable of guzzling everything that looks like energy from the panels, while the 8KW waits till around 9am at times to start picking up solar energy and cannot go beyond it's 190A capacity.

TechGeek777:

I remember vividly that you were using 16kw Deye hybrid Inverter, what happen that you are now using two units of 8kw?

Also, do you use separate CC to charge these 60kwh batteries or are you using the inbuit CC that came with the inverter?

Thanks for the detailed response, Litaninja.
In regards to your questions,

Yes, I have solar panels. 10 Solars panel of 300 watts.
I use the Felicity solar inverter as attached in the picture and i believe charge source priority can be configured.
I'm not sure of the kind of settings used(I'm quite a newbie to these stuffs)
I use Four 220ah 12 volt tabular batteries.

And yes, i don't mind charging my batteries with power occasionally. My issue is how to completely disconnect the batteries from draining my units. I want to be in full control of the usage.

Press and hold "ENTER" for 3 sec (Use ESC butting to go back to a previous page)

Press "UP" or "DOWN" key to switch the selection to 01 (Setting Page) and press "ENTER" key to enter selected page.

Press "UP" or "DOWN" key to switch the selection to 05 (Charger Priorirty) and press "ENTER" key to enter selected page.

You can choose between CSO Which means: Solar will charge the battery first, Then Nepa will charge battery only when Solar is insuffiecient.

Or CHS Meaning that Only Solar can Charge the Battery

In the event that you chose CSO, you can go to Page 07 (Max Utility Charging Current) and lower the Utility Charging Current.

This should get you going without worrying about your Nepa Unit Draining by Inverter Battery Charging.

I have attached links to your Inverter Manual to guide you further.

Thanks for your detailed response.

I thought it was one device. It looks like two devices. The (1) fan and the (2) Smart Temperature and Humidity switch.

Did you get both locally? Or did you get the fan locally but the Switch was imported?

How much did they go for?

I appreciate what you have said about the pricing on Amazon. My research indicates that the more powerful the extractor fan, and the more likely it was built well and that it will last long. Prices around $200 are considered reasonable if you get a powerful one from a renowned brand.

Your information has been very useful.

So if I were to get the setup, I should consider the setup incomplete without 2 fans.

Yeah, 2 Fans, 1 Smart Switch with 2 Outputs. Making 3 Items.

Got the Fan from here: https:///ojo/manufacturing-equipments/extractor-fan-with-shutter-12-inches-fe3Hf1l6mDIMc9BF33xe6Gzx.html

Got the Smart Switch from here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QRM8GSM

Fan was 30K
Switch was around 25k (Total cost)

Please share your extractor fan model?

I have found myself having to import this as well don't have what I want locally.

Thanks please.

Also share why you went for that particular brand and model.

Thanks again

I stumbled upon this fan at a friend's house, I liked it and tested it to comfirm the ratings and I went for it.

Rated 220v 50w with Shutter and Grill. (I personally don't think it takes up to that because I measured the Amperage of around 2.5A max while it's operating)

It is controlled by the 15A 220v MOES Smart Temperature and Humidity switch which detects the preset temperature of the room and then starts or stops the fan. This Switch has two outputs which can control 2 fans. So I can choose that one fan kicks on at 35 degrees centigrade and if the temperature increases further to 45 degrees, the second fan should kick on also. Second fan can be set to shut off at 35 degrees and the first fan to shut off at 32 degrees. This is very impressive of the MOES switch. It has inbuilt Wi-Fi also so it's connected to my home network and controlled by the APP.

I also got some really nice models and brands from Amazon USA with more functions like speed control, etc. But those were miraculously overpriced hence my choice for this Alaba market model. Hahahaha.

The shutter opens only when it's operating thereby preventing rodents and Co from getting in. The grill behind the fan prevents stubborn intruders also.

This fan not only extracts the heat from the power room but also the dust..
I am considering adding the second fan soon to complement this one and utilize the full potentials of the Smart switch also.

The AC in breaker melted and caused fire outbreak., my wife was preparing the kids for school and went to the laundry room to fetch school uniforms only to find smoke coming from the inverter room which is next to the laundry room.
She quickly grabbed the extinguisher and put out the fire.
Then came to wake me up to break the news to me.

From the attached pictures you can see the AC-IN breaker completely melted.
The Amperage was 63A so I replaced it with 125A and till now, everything is going well.

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by jonescosmos: 11:26pm On Dec 20, 2022
Great add-on function you got there.
But I hope the room is well ventilated because by this method, you might just be dissipating the heat and recirculating it within the room and in turns the room and the devices in it will still feel hot at some point and fans will spin continiously.

My 16KW Deye has 3 fans direcly attached to the 3 MPPTs and I additional 2 Fans attached to the mosfet bars inside the Unit. So cooling itself is not an issue but you would notice that the heat is just been scartered withing the room and making every other devices very warm. Hence my Heat Extractor Fan add-on.

I hope you understand bro?.

Cheers.

tsiriman:

My inverter is a smaller one.

I had some concern on the temperature of my 5kW Deye inverter.
The inverter is situated in a well ventilated area but the heat sink gets quite hot, that's how the design is, so I decided to take some precautions for increased span.

The 5kW has just one fan on the bottom of the left heat sink. So I'm order to keep the temperature at manageable range and possibly extend life span of the inverter components, I bought 2 120mm PWM fluid bearing PC fans, 2 brackets to couple the 2 fans together and a dual fan controller to control the speed of the 2 fans based on temperature.
I installed the fan assembly under the right heatsink beside the factory fan.
The original factory fans still runs from time to time but I noticed that it runs much less than it used to and the temperature seen for the Solarman app shows that the temperature is some degrees lower, also the temperature of the heat sink when felt with hand is lower than it used to be.
The new aftermarket fans run continuously 24/7 but speed increases and reduces based on temperature.

Want to find out if anyone has any aftermarket setup on their hydrid inverter to regulate inverter temperature.

Good day everyone here.
As someone suggested a 1hp AC for the inverter room earlier, I spoke to Deye Engineers as well as Felicity Engineers as to what is the best way to keep the room cool for the systems.

Both team gave a simmilar response to this.

They both talked about the size of the room which is somewhat about 9ftx8ftx9ft WDH.
They both didn't recommend an AC for the room, reeson beign that some micro internal components might get condensed and eventually fail due to bridging of terminals.
They both recommended a natural air cooling system according to the first two pictures below.
Based on immediate avialable resources, I did it as seen on the last two pictures.
Before you draw your conclusions remember that they did not say I can't use AC in there. They gave recommendations based on environmental constrains which here is size of the room.

After installing and testing this my Extractor fan today, I thanked my spirit for deciding to place the Deye inverter right below the vents as seen in the pictures.
The Deye Inverter sucks air from under and throws out upwards and the Extractor fan sucks the air outside alongside dust. grin
Please recommend improvements if any.

Happy me.

It doesn't work on Felicity Inverters,
Felicity has a proprietary datalogger for their Inverters (means that their inverter is coded to work with their logger only) If anyone have read Original Felicity inverters with some random loggers please let us know here, they told me this directly after they allowed me to buy other loggers used for most Voltronic based Inverters because it was cheaper than thiers. Soms Raspberry Pi or Arduino devices works with Felicity though.

Anyways there are many ways to communicate and manage felicity devices, I'm sure you don't want me to educate you on this too. I just needed you to be specific as to what you wanted to communicate with the battery but since you said it's with computer, Felicity uses EDMS Software or DessMonitor Platfom and Logger. You can contact their customer care to request for the EDMS software or simply buy their Wifi or 4G Logger. The Wifi Logger uses RS232 while the 4G Logger uses both RS485 and RS232.

Thank you.

Foreign transactions on local accounts are only possible on platforms that have Nigerian Payment Gateways now.
