Read it all.Things are however not fully ok. But the government elbowing out private investors was not right.Back then the global prices were low but the lowly informed farmers were demanding much. The government just reacted out just to please the masses without seeing the bigger picture!

Terrorism is an ideology. It's almost impossible to get rid of it but you can keep it in your checks. It's like trying to end racism.
Kazikazi:
You can completely destroy it.What we are lacking is a know-how. Nothing is impossible.
Foreign AffairsRe: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Jonraid(m): 10:59am On Nov 21, 2018
How will this government directive affect the private sector? Give me the links showing that the prices have upped
Kazikazi:
Quite true hey.
Most of this businesses are moved by sentiments! The moment the gov decided to buy all the cashews the markets reacted in our favor. We harvest btn step and November, there is no nation which is doing harvesting this time until next march.Definitely we have created shortages in supply chain worldwide.

You can't kill terrorism, you can only suppress it.No country has defeated it in this world.Very soon AMISOM will be out,the operation has had it success and soon Somalia National Army will now be the one manning Somalia's territory!
Kazikazi:
We don't have plans to go to Somalia. If kenyan army can't do the job,let them tell the world first. We are in Congo. Our special forces have eliminated M_23 rebels. We were in comoro too,we sorted things there. We were in Uganda,we removed IDD amin and we colonized Uganda for months!
We were in Mozambique, we smashed RENAMO. We were in Namibia and Zimbabwe too. These were real wars and not peacekeeping missions which we are involved in many parts like Lebanon etc.
We can't be everywhere.Let the Kenyan army win its fist war!! We are waiting......

It's funny how the military is involved in koro-show but it's okay! I guess you should be sending more troops to Congo and even consider Somalia!
Kazikazi:
Why are you so curious about cashews?
But anyway..
The business men were about to take advantage of farmers. The gov gave the proposed price for this year. They refused. The gov took over, bought the cashews through Tanzania agricultural bank(TIB).
The military was tasked to guard, transporting and processing the cashews. The demand for cashew nuts have been increased about 6% yearly. What the gov have done will definitely push the demands higher so as the prices, remember we are among the top producers.Since all cashews will b processed locally, our industries will benefit.most of businessmen were exporting raw cashews.

So the South African economy only expanded by 0.8 % this year. This is a very low number irregardless of the way you look at it.Has the South African economy reached it's climax just like the developed nations who would rarely grow the economy by more than two percentile? Or is this just a temporary stagnation and the economy would ultimately bounce back?

Anyone willing to tell this out? What do these numbers mean? What do you foresee from the South African economy?

Lack of 'political will' has always been the problem. No passion to improve lives. The economy is growing, that's good but we need to be growing at double digits...6 or 6.5 % isn't enough. If the big four is delivered by 2022,then we will have made a huge step. It's a matter of 'if'

And coming 2022.We need a brilliant president.A top notch economist who would change the status quo!
kikuyu1:
As I said that's a process that will take time-until most of us are politically mature to resist populist demagoguery and demand some minimum county services from our governors.eg why can't our pastoralist counties go for feedlot systems instead of nomadism which is easier in these days of sudden climate shifts and fenced farms? Why can't L Victoria counties prioritise water and irrigation-have you seen their combined development since 2013? And yet they're still as dry as N Kenya arid counties!?
That's just a start-once we change our mental paradigms the sky is literally the limit!

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY SERVICE HELD AT THE COMMONWEALTH WAR CEMETRY

Opened in 1941 by the military authorities, the cemetery holds about 2,000 graves that commemorate men from the United Kingdom, South Africa and East Africa who died in the non-operational zones of Kenya during training and garrison duties. The site which also hosts 89 non-war graves is the largest in East Africa. Some of the soldiers who rest in the graves died in Somalia or in hospitals in Nairobi which was a hospital center during the Second World War.

We remember both the fallen Kenyans and the non Kenyans!

The revenue sharing formula is fare, we need like 35% of revenues going to the counties up from the current 15%!

The revenue sharing formula hasn't been the problem really!
Yobeezy:
Of course! What mutua did is beyond competency,he played his cards well though.
Another problem that might arise from devolution is marginalization.Despite the county governments being formed to foster uniform development across the nation,we still have some counties slightly lagging behind in terms of development moreso the counties in northern regions.
I think this could be caused by inequitable disbursements of funds by the central government, they ought to disburse more funds to the less privileged regions than the highly privileged regions like the eastern, western, central and coastal parts of Kenya.
Counties like Turkana, marsabit, wajir etc should be given prior attention on this, the government needs to revise its allocation methodologies.
