They can't even claim that they own Kiswahili. It's about time they stop about this 'we are lovers of Kiswahili' nonsense!

Of course when language of instruction in high school is English and nearly every Tanzania kid CANNOT construct a sentence in English - how would you describe such a system and what kind of output would you expect there. Well I just wouldn't compare you with America now! America is more diverse than you,second...America is so so much bigger than SA (Texas is as same as Kenya in terms of geographical size/landmass) and lastly,America has a much bigger population at 325 plus million ! You know that,don't you?

LOL, I think little things excite too much at times. We also have doctors from Cuba , Nigeria UK etc , it's not that we don't have ours but with a growing population and so many immigrants we had a shortage especially in the rural parts . Same way America is always recruiting doctors from third world countries.

Just back in 2011,Windhoek asked Nairobi for doctors because they had a deficit.I was taken aback! Why Kenya? We are not in the SADC and we don't share so much with Namibia more than they do with SA.I guessed they wanted 'black doctors' which Kenya had them https://allafrica.com/stories/201109301154.html

Yes in 90s - many kenyan teachers - ended up in Southern Africa countries - Botswana & South Africa mostly.

They bring up starvation and Kibera as a measure of 'avoiding the elephant in the room!'

Most of our African compatriots can't answer the most pertinent matters that we are raising in this thread!

Kenyans back then were one of the most educated blacks who were few in the continent! There was a requirement that black tutors be employed in SA Universities but because black South Africans could not fill the numbers,Kenyans were one of the few African nations that helped in bridging that deficit!

Yeah ,segregations was there.Even the Indians occupied a much higher status than the black Kenyans.However,things got a little bit better after independence!

It's not that I don't know about apartheid,I know about it more than even the South Africans themselves as a subject;my point was,none of my people experienced it,it was not a Kenyan affair.Because of this fact,I'd rather not discuss the subject out of the respect that I was not a victim of it and neither were my people! I did not quote you because you suggested the African American situation was extreme, that should not even be an observation , any Tom and dick should readily know this. I quoted you because of what you were trying to suggest with the finger pointing line, you clearly needed education on what has lead the country to where it is. There was nothing to argue in the first place , you could have asked where you didn't understand or studied the subject a bit better before inserting yourself into it. Of course I've studied both histories,it's just that I think that the African American's case was more of an insidious nature than the black South African's case.However,as you have put it,it may be that I'm out of the reality because my people never underwent such a treatment hence in me underestimating apartheid.Goodluck in you people trying to correct things.I would not want to argue much about it because apartheid was never Kenya's history.Let's chill!

That is because you don't know what the system was about or what it did , so when people point out it's legacy you will probably think it's " playing victim". Firstly educate yourself on what both systems did to family structures (which is the ultimate way of destroying any society), this never happened in any other countries to the level of SA and USA. Follow that up with institutionalised racism which is a rigid stain to clean up , this is in the education, health and financial sectors . These are part of the " inheritance ". With America it must be a nightmare because there is no political power nor will to change the legacy. The only thing they can do is to emulate their ancestors after the end of slavery ; form black owned businesses and support only them , they have a big population that can do lot of damage to white pockets . Contrary to the crap we have been made to believe , there were a lot of thriving black American communities that sustained themselves without welfare , but they were burned down during the Jim Crowe erra to make way for white owned businesses, and the blacks pushed to inner cities to provide cheap labour for white owned businesses ( exact same story with South Africa before and during apartheid). People lost their land(wealth and identity) , Cattle ( wealth ) ,etc. This lead to the current disfuntions in both societies , the only difference is that South Africa is reversing the legacy , but I don't see it ever changing in America unless they organise themselves and re- do what they did before. And i think they have that opportunity with Trump , he might have his own racial biases but I would trust a leader that discourages dependency to the likes of democrats who have made them cripples for decades ( same Mandela legacy we are transforming).

I have never been treated badly in south africa, but I know Nigerians who are targeted by Kenyans for nothing, especially your authorities. Even your president ordered for the attack of Nigerians.

Obama did not have any Kenyan upbringing , he was brought up by his white American grandparents hence the easy reception, if he were a normal child of a black immigrant , brought up by him, I doubt he would have gone that far.
