Benchmarking shouldn't tell a lot. Why did our experts then decide to adopt the Columbian BRT model and not Nigeria's or Tanzania's for that matter ? When India tried to learn about our mpesa technology, does that mean that we beat them in ICT ?
cossano: rant however you what, it will never change the facts that the Nigerians have provided here. let me tell you something, in life there are two kinds of envy, black and white envy. black envy is when someone progress makes you uncomfortable thereby prompting you to plot his downfall, white envy is when someone success makes you uncomfortable but instead of plotting his downfall you find a way of achieving the same, i smell a lot of black envy from you towards the Nigerians, if they are such a failure why did we go to benchmark with their BRT? because what you keep saying is nothing good can ever come from Nigeria. am sorry for you man, the soon you accept the facts the better for you. what do we say in Kenya; ACCEPT AND MOVE ON
How is Ethiopia better than Kenya? On what areas? I'd like him to answer this
tylann: Ethnic federalism has caused alot of ethnic violence in Ethiopia i hope you know that
Some Kenyan leaders are jokers like waititu i don't know how he was elected anyway but mike sonko is definately better than most educated governors in kenya
How is a country with the most poor people in the world greater than us ?

Infrastructure is just an enabler of efficient logistics. You need to have this and more to rank higher. Don't look at the roads, airways, rails and ports alone. We also have the human side of it,talk of the workforce. You can also look at the law and the policy side of it. Well, you can bring the ports stats just like the way you started with roads but remember a bigger handling capacity may not always translate to efficiency and quick ship turnaround.
Algerian1: Check the methodology of this LPI ranking https://lpi.worldbank.org/about the pdf link in the end .its also a survey , opinions and it show nothing interesting for me . you can compare logistic , one by one ports activity statistics , roads exchange ect ... It would be better
Why would those questioner favour us ? When shippers say that Mombasa Port is quicker, how is that not credible enough? I get your point anyways. But to rank high up there, I believe that you must have the correct infrastructure in place. Do you honestly believe that we should compare the tonnage that a Port in Mauritius handles in a day to what a port in South Africa does to get which one is more better in logistics?

Our infrastructure superiority proves itself on our logistics ranking! How about if Nigeria tells us how good is their logistics industry with their superior infrastructure!
Those are for highways excluding City roads and rural roads!
68816419: Paved roads equate development, Accept the fact that Kenya is a small , irrelevant country in Africa, how can country have less than 10K paved roads ?
popizaino: There is nothing posh about this condominium you posted, unless, posh has an exclusive meaning to you or there are some parts you're not showing. I can only agree to its neatness status and that is because of its size. FYI, There are so many smaller poch estates that are far neater than this nyayo, littering across west Africa. Our larger ones are not well kept as this.
You can have thousands of kilometres of paved roads but they look lacklustre. Some roads in Kenya cost as much as 10 million dollars per KM.It's all about preferences. Do you want the 10 million dollar per km road or the 3,4,5 million dollar per km road?
Algerian1: Well as i told , the words best ,wrost are subjective .what they mean with best ? . if you want to put ranking you need statistics ,numbers . and how could a country have best roads infrastructure if its roads are not even paved ? . so poeple should avoid sharing subjective and not serious ranking with no facts to verify from serious sources .
Looking at roads, let's look at the many parametres that may play out.
*Size of the country-Larger countries will usually have more roads in km than smalller countries due to their expansive geographical size.
*Population-A high population density may mean more cities and towns in a country thus leading to more roads needed to connect populations to each other
*Alternative means of transport-Some countries may prioritise one form/means of transport over the other. Some countries prioritise rail over road
*Economy-Richer countries are more likely to have more roads in Km than their poorer counterparts.
Having more paved roads won't automatically mean better or best road infrastructure!
Bringing Cape Verde inside the conversation wasn't well thought!
Best roads infrastructure and paved roads are two different things! Cape Verde is small in size, how can you compare it with Algeria one of the largest countries in size in the continent?
Algerian1: Sure according to your ranking cap verde with 1,650 km network road with only 36% is asphalted have more highways and paved roads than algeria
Any way .
From kenya national highway autority source , kenya have 63,575 km classified roads with only 9,273 kilometres of paved roads . (link : http://www.kenha.co.ke/index.php/road-network
Algeria have 133 741 km of classified roads with 106 992 km paved' roads source algerian ministry of transport
And from this source the Director-General, Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), http://www.icrc.gov.ng/135000km-road-network-nigeria-un-tarred-icrc/ 2017 , Nigeria has about 195,000 km road network out of which a proportion of about 32,000 km are federal roads while 31,000km are state roads. Out of this, only about 60,000km are paved
All old 1000 shillings notes that would not have been returned to banks in exchange of the new notes before date 01/October shall cease to be legal tender!
Problemkid1: How can you say 70% of Nigerians are poor. Are you okay at all. If I call you foolish drunkard you will say am rude. 9millions of your citizens are starving and you're here talking of others. Maybe too much chang'aa has affected your skull
I think in the insurance industry it is where we are doing great. It's great hearing that now even pastoralists can insure their cattle against drought among other natural occurring calamities!
A total of 870,000 dollars has been paid to pastoralists this year,2019 as insurance cover for drought! This is commendable! We need more pastoralists to take up this cover! Being more than 80% arid, such a move is commendable!
I love the ban placed on the registration of new universities and satelite campuses. We need more technical collages and polytechnics at this stage of our development!
w1234: TVETs graduates will not be jobless university graduates will be jobless Yes the govt has shifted policy to improve tvets and build new ones which is a good thing
68816419: The largest shareholder is the Government of Kenya with just (48.9%) , while ARIK AND AIR-PEACE Airlines are fully owned by privately Nigerians individuals with 0% government ownership
Kazikazi: That is the same method u used to defend your food insecurity. I remembered how u even crafted a fake index showing Kenya is doing well in food security. But all of a sudden people in Turkana started dying due to chronic starvation.
The same thing is happening in ur squabbles with Somalians. You are in denial phase. Keep on burying your head on a sand. The day u wake up,a landlocked nation is what u will see
