KCB got 240 million US dollars profit,Nigeria biggest bank got 300 million USD profit.Interesting! What can you deduce? A nation of 150-200million people should have single banks posting billion dollar profits! ![]() |
Bring me the cumulative profits of all, don't look at one or two big banks! Bring an alternative chart showing both countries cumulative bank profits! obaaderemi: |

Since they purport to be the largest economy in Africa(GDP Wise). They just have to provide data to back up their claims which is not easy.Nigeria is not attractive to Nigerians, they would rather face xenophobia in Mzansi streets than stay in their country! To me that doesn't look like the number one economy in Africa.Them beating SA for the top spot was a big lie! Some Nigerians were not even buying it! rvp2018: |
Equity was recognised for its investments in the community while KCB was named most innovative lender KCB Group and Equity Group were feted at the 2019 edition of the African Banker Awards. KCB was named the most innovative bank and also emerged as the top lender in East African region. Organisers of the awards, IC Publications (producers of the African Banker magazine), said KCB was awarded because it “has demonstrated original and practical uses of technology to provide customer convenience, improved and more affordable services, and greater access to the financial services industry in Africa." KCB's recent innovations include its partnership with Safaricom to launch the mobile-based daily revolving credit service dubbed Fuliza. Equity was awarded for its investments in the community, with the country’s second-largest bank funding the education of thousands of needy learners in secondary school. The lender has expanded its education programme to take scores of high school graduates to some of the most prestigious universities in North America and Europe. "The award is aimed at companies that go beyond the philanthropic use of funds to use their overall knowledge, resources and reputation to improve the lives of the less advantaged in society," the organisers said. Winners of the awards were announced on Tuesday night in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea on the fringes of the African Development Bank (AfDB) annual meeting. Afreximbank was named Bank of the Year while Trade and Development Bank's President Admassu Tadesse was crowned African Banker of the Year. South African banks dominated the investment banking and deals of the year categories. Absa won Investment Bank of the Year. Standard Bank and RMB won the equity deal of the year with the VIVO Energy |

GDP is the summation of all the goods and services produced within a country-that's the explanation they gave me in my ''Economic Geography'' class So he shouldn't wonder that a heap of cow dung is fit in this conversation kikuyu1: |

What about the ships that access the Kilindini habour? How will they pass with a bridge under? Even a bascule bridge construction won't make any sense due to the high ship traffic at the Likoni channel We are constructing a bypass to Likoni and a cable car so as to consolidate the efforts that ferries make in easing the transportation of both persons and goods via the Likoni channel! The money is there, the biggest problem we have is the inequitable distribution of it.From the janitor to the president, everyperson should be paid fairly! Economic growth should also translate to decent wages all over. The president should know that Kenyans want money in their pockets,he needs to stimulate this economy.More and more corruption leads to scarcity of money in the villages! It's nice seing the biggest government employees in terms of numbers(teachers) being given a 4.7 billion US dollars budget in the sector that employs them!In both the public and private formal sectors, the salaries are decent. We need to do something to uplift our informal sector! Imagine the monies if we formally sold about 60-70% of our milk production? There is so much improvement we can do in each and every sector. We just need the political goodwill and boom we are on to prosperity! rvp2018: |
