komekn: Sometimes you talk arrant nonsense.
The social media is awash with huge caches of ammunition being carted away by Boko from the attack and seizure of Baga . We could clearly see the heavy weaponry abandoned ( ERC 90, Gun boats, etc ) not used against the enemy. Initially the NA even denied that Bafa had fallen into the hands of Boko at the time.
Every sector of public service delivery in Nigeria is bediveled with Nepotism, Incompetence, Maladministration, etc, etc, all to different degrees of crass ineptitude.
Why then do we think somehow the military is going to be totally different ❓❓❓ And be the epitome of efficiency, let's be real, this is Nigeria.
Tell me one sector not two just one in public service delivery that meets expected international standards by comparison.
Look at how our soldiers behave in public and they are supposed to to be highly trained. You can't show in the public domain, ineptitude, incapacity , indiscipline and then somehow in the battlefield become the quintessential perfect soldiers. It does not work like that , sorry . oga go and sleep you kown nothing about baga attack writting from heart desire. |

SamuelAnyawu: I don’t think only Ammo was the issue with Baga. Another major issue was lack of clearance operation in Kukawa main town and Guzamala. It was evident that Baga would fall. ISWAP pushed out almost all FOBs on Monguno-Kukawa axis in October. What was the military expecting will happen to Baga that sits on the edge of Kukawa LGA?
ISWAP got lots of ammunition in that attack even Naval boats.
ISWAP swept Kukawa and the link road from Baga to Monguno had heavy presence of ISWAP on it. Humanitarian Security blacklisted Baga that all humanitarian should pull out immediately more than a month to the attack as all intel proved ISWAP next point is to sweep Baga clean after Kukawa main town.
We should always be the hunters and not the hunted.
Happy Sunday. baga was the main power in those location mile 4 house another military power. All the fob base around kukawa and some location depend on baga and mile 4 for reinforcement. Gudzalama road both entry and exist point was under heavy military presence with enviroment subjected to aistrike kukwba which have alway hold iswap present was subjected to clearance under late conoial bako command which recieve reinforcement and sf from damboa , marte and baga. The mistake baga 203 bn did was to reinforce late bako with troop and still reinforcing gudzamala and the fob around it enviroment leaving small ammo , troop and equipment to defended the base. The naval base made some mistake which i will not explain now. And it was the major mistake that fall baga . Happy sunday |

joshingjosh: I strongly disagree with this please, how can you go for reinforcement and not go with adequate ammunitions?? Does that make sense??
Wait are you going to show your face or help increase the fire power of your already trapped comrades??
Just imagine a soldier is called for reinforcement and he runs into an MRAP with only 2 rounds for short gun, when he is asked he he will say that there's not enough ammo in his unit??
Why not go with enough ammo for the reinforcement and the base can be reinforced with ammo while u are reinforcing the trapped Comrades oga dont use your desire for some equipment to judge military operation. baga 2018 was overun because of reinforcement move out of the base with a lot of ammo leaving a small amo and equipment for base defence. many thing playout during operation |

Xbee007: The recent attack on Damboa by ISWAP was clearly a probing attack. They did something similar in Askira Uba before launching the one that purportedly overran a military base and led to the death of 4 others in a relief ambush. The military should be ready for a full-scale attack soon. truly they have plan to overun damboa but remember askira uba was never overun. damboa under general bayo will never be overun . they will die before reaching that formation. Whyem15: There is no supercamp in Askira uba. The casualties is what I do not know about but with the way the military camp is constructed and knowing that they could easily be attacked from all directions with nothing stopping the enemies, the troops in that base were either very lucky or they are just very good soldiers not to have been totally destroyed in that attack. you keep record to much I have being looking for this . komekn: Do not make brazen, emotive led assumptions from bias, which have zero substance.
To present your proposition you have to state vtur number of troops deployed. And indeed number of operations and engagements.
For your information on over 150 000 UK armed forces personal have been deployed in Afghanistan alone over the plus 20 year period.
Now give us the Nigerian armed forces deployment over the last 10 years. It's only then we can my aje be substantive comparison not sentiment based assumptions. how many troop does uk as have. lie with sense please |

DubaiLandLord1: The death of the coalition should be between 3500-4000 death
Nigerian army nko? Since the war is even happening in Nigeria, it should be so easy for the Nigerian army to keep record since 2009 oga give source and sto stop assuming. it close or more than 10,000 in the two war and your comparing nation with over million troop with nation only with thousand of troop and equipment show weak you are. c the early stage of the war between 2009 to 2011 police was the major caustlies of the war 2012 to now was when military was deployed so calculate the dead of nigeria military |

DubaiLandLord1: Are you talking about Operation Talic that was carried out by the British military between 2003 and 2011?
Less than 200 British soldiers died in iraq
In Afghanistan, throughout the British military combat in Afghanistan, I don't think up to 500 UK military personnel have lost their fight.
Can you now give us the estimate of the Nigerian soldiers that have died in this war since 2009? No just give us an estimate and tell us say nah your source tell you o
I can back up what I said about the UK military personnel death in Iraq and Afghanistan with legit source, you should be able to back up your own with legit source too.
Is an insult to compare the UK military with that of the Nigerian military. but troop was lost him claming that british mrap have not been destroyed made me to laugh. before anything the war in afghan and iraq was a nato operation which up to 10 nation was involve if we want to caculate their dead service men will calculate the causaties of all the nation involve.. From us to france to british down to germany and more brono is purely nigeria army so calculate and write back British army have little number of man in afghan and iraq and depend on US for operational salt when attack mission rugged terrian. but by the way why are will comparing nation that failed in defeating terroism, nation that run away from afghan saying their mission is over without fighting the main threat, ,nation that their 20 year is equal to tailbian two month ! tailbian defeat 20year of nato operation in two month |

komekn: Will we ever know the aTRUTH one TRUTH that is irrefutable is that the NA is very capable of telling bare faced lies.
I remember years ago when they abandoned there MRAP and other vehicles and ran into Cameroon. It was explained as a tactical retreat I guess to outflank the enemy.
At the very least any Armoured vehicle should have HMG. So why didn’t the gunners on the MRAP take out the enemy’s MRAP with the turreted HMG it’s stabilized and our trained soldiers should be able to have far better accuracy against ISWAP.
Someone suggested that they ran out of ammunition. That seems highly unlikely as they were going as reinforcements to assist there comrades already engaged with the enemy.
One thing I notice about the NA they go on the same roads day day out in long convoys in the belief of strength in numbers.
In Afghanistan and Iraq in general allied forces never if possible go on the same routes regularly. Mostly yet go off road and travel at night no lights. Just thermal imaging and NVG. you like writing rubbish . Just take 2 weeks trip to brono and see thing yourself and stop being a narialand anyalist .from damboa to akism uba you only have singe entry and exist . If you know how protected an mrap or suv of a senior commander is . You will stop writting this rubbish. Things that playout in the battlefied is more of what you think at home .you saying a reinforcement convoy can't run out of ammo show how weak you paragraphs quote is , you forgot that a reinforcement unit or base have a base to be defended by other troop incase of an attack and will not move will all ammo . All mrap in brono have HMG. Go to brono an be a battlefield anyalist and not a nairaland anyalist |

komekn: These events put to question the quality and efficacy of our battlefield strategy and management in the first instance.
Then we begin to wonder about the level and quality of our equipment.
Getting ambushed should not be a surprise because it's expected you are therefore prepared with an offensive strategy to mitigate against your adversary.
NOTHING these days surprises me about the NA. Not too long ago I watched how the NA attached a HMG to a BTR4 APC in the most rudimentary way. It was claimed we couldn't get the ammunition required for the 30mm guns on the RWS. That rendered this once near IFV a mere tin box with HMG.
To be told that a Brigadier General had to ram the enemy's MRAP to stop it. That sounds very desperate Dan, It beggars belief. So we did not have the basic weaponry to stop an MRAP. oga you are good in writing rubbish!. |
