I watched The governor of Niger state say it himself on national TV that Bokoharam are fully in charge in some local government, also saw videos of displaced villagers on national TV give a first hand report of what is on ground. Do you want to tell us these villagers don't know what they're saying or do you have more information than the Chief security officer of the state (Governor)? Stop blaming the media for doing their job. If you want I can post the chat between me and an officer that was moved to Niger state to fight these terrorists these guys are no random group of strange preachers as you alluded to.
This is not how to do the loyalty/patriotism thing, you're sounding like a propagandist & this is the least thing we ought to do at this point in time. We need to tell ourselves the truth and proffer actionable solutions to the challenge.

I know people that broke their legs in academy, and were using clutches for a while, they are both officers now. I know someone that took a punch during a boxing bout to his arm, and had his bone cracked, they had to break his bones and set it back, he wasn't withdrawn from NDA, I know someone that was on break and had a car accident, and had his arm broken, he is an officer now, in fact their is still iron in the guy's arm. There are certain injuries that you have that they can't patch for you, and logically no longer fit for service.
I know people that have been withdrawn from NDA and relegated, none has ever been for a reason that wasn't needed....and most of those withdrawn that I know, was months to their p.o.p.
One of the issues with N.D.A and the tough stance now, is that the quality of cadets dropped, due to societal reasons.
Usually academy has a way of weeding out those unfit, but this way compromised for a long time.
I have once in the mess, heard a one star and another red neck officer, without a star, talk about the cadets that were stars in N.D.A pass out and become very ineffective and those that weren't really impressive in N.D.A end up performing better, which isn't logical..... apparently a lot of corruption and patching was going on in N.D.A.
heavy lies

Some of these soldiers can be overzealous.... one of them has slapped a friend of mine before in calabar, soldier slap officer....though he was in mufti and not in the army, when e gave me the gist I just laughed, because I know this particular officer to be stubborn, but he couldn't do anything other than to report the incident to the army, they were now begging him not to escalate the issue, that they would handle it in house. Me I was teasing him, when people dey go NDA you choose university.... when you would have sharperly called your course mate in the army, and start to ty job to the soldier.
Sadly these things happen, even in the military, I have seen a sentry cocked his rifle at man at the gate, with wife and kids in the car, and demanding to see the man's ID card, the man was just sparking at the long run he tendered his id card.
Even myself I have had my own encounter, a certain part of festac town was blocked off, with military checkpoint set up, which I wasn't aware of, I was speeding only to see tyres ....next thing 2 soldiers flanked me, I just ignored the private that was raising his voice and call the lance corporal by his rank, and asked him how is the job going and if they are seeing peace, the both of them calmed down immediately and explained the check point to me, I apologised and follow another route.

DubaiLandLord2:
In April 2021, an insurgent named Mallam Sadiqu set up an empire in the local sprawl of Shiroro, Niger State. As a Boko Haram jihadist, he took control of political and social life in about 25 communities.

Sadiqu started his infiltration of the communities like a ‘gentle man of God’ before professing himself as a Boko Haram commander spreading Islamic extremism, which coincides with the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād’s school of thought.

He would later declare himself a “constituted authority” and threaten to ‘waste’ anyone who refused to swallow his decisions or tried to expose him to the government.

He set up a cabinet for his Islamic government and read publicly the rules and regulations, rewards and penalties for certain acts, emphasising his mission to fight the government and take over the state.

“He told them that he was not harmful to the general public because he was a Boko Haram [insurgent],” a source familiar with Sadiqu’s system of government told FIJ. “He said he was not fighting the masses but the government. He said everybody should settle down to live their normal lives. But they would have protocols.”

After declaring himself an authority, he recruited ruthless young people who had taken part in rural banditry and cattle theft, overpowering Dogo Gide, a feared bandit leader in Shiroro. He empowered his recruits with swords, powerbikes, AK47s and Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPGs).

He then ruled communities like Kaure, Kusasu, Pai, Chukuba, Kwaki, Kurebe, Iburo, Kushaka, Kushaku, Biko, Alaita, Dnasepa, Kokokki, Nakundna, Afapi, Kampani, Kudumidna, Sakko, Ajatayi, Lukupe, Badna, Alai Kwaki, Bududna and Maimalufa.

“If you have a female child of 12 years, you have to marry her out,” Sadiqu was quoted to have ordered residents of these communities.

How did a ‘gentle man of God’ turn out to be the most dreaded terrorist and rebel threatening the Government of Niger State?

FROM KAURE TO KUREBE

Stories of murders, abductions and human rights violations dominate the communities controlled by Sadiqu and his loyalists. On April 27, Abubakar Bello, the Niger State Governor, confirmed the hoisting of the Boko Haram flag in Kaure, Sadiqu’s headquarters in Shiroro.

The governor revealed how the terrorist took the women of some residents and gave them to his boys.

“I am confirming that there are Boko Haram elements here in Niger State,” he said. “Here in Kaure, I am confirming that they have hoisted their flags. Their wives have been seized from them and forcefully attached to Boko Haram members.

“I just heard that they have placed their flags at Kaure, meaning they have taken over the territory. This is what I have been engaging the Federal Government on. Unfortunately, it has now got to this level. If care is not taken, even Abuja is not safe.”

Following the governor’s public outcry, a contingent of soldiers stormed Kaure community to dislodge Sadiqu and his fighters.

“Unfortunately, it was just a military operation to dislodge the terrorists. A military base was not established in the community,” a source told FIJ. “So, after everything, the terrorists reconvened in Kurebe, a nearby village, and established another Boko Haram headquarters in Shiroro.”

STARTED AS A MISSIONARY, NOW AN INSURGENT

According to multiple accounts of locals in the communities, Sadiqu started by preaching to residents in the Lakma axis, especially in the Kaure area. He enjoined them to embrace Islamic jurisprudence and “fear Allah”.

“At a point, he was going around as a missionary and people were even getting to believe him,” said a youth leader in one of the communities. “It was later that he started using force. So, his boys started carrying guns.”

KNOWN BUT FACELESS

Almost everybody in the 25 communities controlled by Sadiqu knows him but “nobody dares obtain his picture or describe how he looks to an alien in the area”.

Residents who confided in FIJ said Sadiqu is considered a sacred human whose face or physical appearance must not be in the public domain. Moreover, taking or displaying pictures is forbidden in the terrorist’s territories.

“He has made himself the constituted authority so much that if you have a case to settle, you go to him instead of going to the court or the police,” one of the locals said. “Even if you’re coming to his vicinity, you cannot come with a phone or a camera because his boys will search you from checkpoint to checkpoint. Nobody has any image of Mallam Sadiqu at the moment.”

“Anyone seen taking pictures in his territory could be killed,” another local added. “It is seen as a dangerous offence here.”

TEARS OF A PEOPLE

Residents under Sadiqu’s control are grieving but they dare not shed tears. An attempt to report Sadiqu’s atrocities attracts severe punishment. Anyone who tries it could be stoned to death, according to multiple accounts of locals.

“You can imagine telling uneducated people how the government has abandoned them and how they (the terrorists) are there to fight the government for them. They are brainwashing the people and that is a danger,” a concerned Shiroro youth told FIJ.

“We only hope the government can take back these communities from this dangerous man.”

The Niger State Government is aware of the presence of Sadiqu and his men. But the governor said he is helpless.

Suleiman Chukuba, Chairman of Shiroro Local Government, confirmed the influx of Boko Haram elements, saying, “Only four wards have been affected.”

He said the residents know from their mode of preaching that they are Boko Haram elements.

“They told villagers that they had money to help them and that they had guns to give them to fight the government. And that is the same doctrine we know Boko Haram elements promote,” he said.

Bandits held victims in our soil and be making noise up and down...

Yet security can't fish them out.

Come to think of it, some students of Baptist high school where just released. This is like 4 months after their kidnap.

We still have students of birnin yauri Kebbi state still in captivity for more than months. Not to mention the other individual victims. Yet our security forces can't track these massive movement of people.

But on daily basis inside villages in SE & SS, our soldiers are there forming commando.

Yes I knw that north is vast and a large area are not covered, but if the same energy used in tackling the issue on south is applied in the north, this banditry won't go this far.

All those bandits are careless and move in swarm, wch makes them an easy target and the bulk majority of them are children who can easily be broken to get information.

Tomorrow someone will open his mouth and say that govt aren't behind these bandits.

A credible source on Twitter gave the number of ISWAP fighters to be as high as 17,000.

In my own opinion, unless most of them are part-time fighters(more of civilians than fighters) we would have seen very large scale attacks on NA formation in the North East. We would have seen larger aggregation of the terrorists too which would have made it easier for the airforce to inflict a lot more damage on them. None of their propaganda videos has also indicated this.
pure lies iswap is not up to that amount . Many of this people increase figure to justify their though

This is totally insensitive, most of these fishermen have no where else to go or make a living. The state govt have been hammering on resettlement of refugees back to their communities, when they go back they must find something to sustain themselves and fishing is one of it, ISWAP are known to only tax them unlike BHT that kills both civilians and soldiers. Instead of blaming the victims blame the govt that insist people should go back to their communities when they know it's isn't safe. The victims are Nigerians and the least we could do is sympathise and pay compensations.
oga find fact before you post any fisherman in that iswap base is a terrosit . Iswap will never allow citizen come close to their base because of them giving out information to the military. Fisherman going to fish in the middle of the night abi

for those who are saying rubbish about the airstrike in yobe state are big fool.
iswap transport about 700 fighter from Libya to hold territory from military offensive. last mouth a meeting was held between iswap and some trained terrorist to help them fighter Nigerian military after some of their fighter surrender to the Nigeria military and some died in military offensive. over fifty (50) came under the control of Adu shab. . notice, before the ending of July to early this month there was a reduced in terrorist attack on Nigeria military. mid of this month they have being increased in terrorist attack on Nigeria military majorly ambush. new iswap tactic is to move from one location to another and not basing in one location in another to averted attack from both the Nigeria air force and army.
the iswap Libya trained terrorist was afraid about the air surveillance in brono and it will prone them to air attack. so they decide to move their base to yobe state because yobe state have a reduce in air surveillance and air strike. so they decide to take there base to an border town of yobe a town between Nigeria ,chad and niger republic Intel was giving to the nigeria airforce and the nigeria army. last three week airforce stated and air surveillance over yobe state which one lead to the attack of both iswap and a civilian hold territory. the terrorist location have been under air surveillance for over two to three weeks. the air force refused to attack the location on severally occasion because of it causing tension and civilian damage in the town. at bout 12 to 1 am on Monday morning a Nigeria air force fleet back with the 123sf solider attack iswap Libya location in a border town of yobe state with sand off weapon. according to intel the base have the necessary power to attack any lowing flying jet like mi 35 and alpha jet. the iswap to Libya terrorist base was attack by nigeria airforce leading to the total destruction of the base.
my question : what is fishermen doing in a well defend iswap base at about 12 to 1am. or fish na night they the catch am. (2) what is all this media organization gaining give out fake news without investigation , all media organization don dey get military source even small media organization maybe and roadside impersonator be there military source
