TheSuperNerd:I know some people will talk about experience but if you play Ndidi as a defensive midfielder, he will perform very well. I have watched some of his games at Genk and he even looks a better player than Onazi. |
lakesidepapa:Ah...you can lie o. Most of the Zambian attack came from Echiejile? Haba. Did you watch the match? Ndidi that was being beaten to the point that he started falling kept Kalaba in position? LOL If not that Kalaba has poor delivery, we would have been roasted. Imagine Mahrez roasting Ndidi like that. You go hear am. |
tbaba1234:I no even talk anything again. He said Ndidi was not the worst on the field yesterday. LOL |
TheGoodJoe:Echiejile and Ndidi, who was more atrocious? |
TheGoodJoe:You forgot that it was Ekong that was at the mercy of the attack whenever Ndidi was being skinned alive. He was drifting to the RB and maintaining his side of the CB all through the second half. |
tbaba1234:The guy is indeed a good Samaritan. This is about the only kind of guy who can work successfully with this NFF; someone who does not care about money. |
TheSuperNerd:He's mine 1. Ekong 2. Ikeme 3. Onazi 4. Iwobi |
You see, the reason we go away and play Tanzania 0-0 and Oliseh comes to tell us it's because there are no small teams in Africa is because we are used to mediocrity. This team is proof that we can go away and beat any team. To look at this team and realize we are not even playing my best eleven is to realize my point. No Victor Moses, No Success, No Balogun, a makeshift RB, Simon coming from injury and not fully fit, 7 out of first eleven under 25 years old, and we still defeated a top African team away. This is the dream! |
Not a lot of props is being given to Ikeme and it's a disservice. Since he got into the team, he's saved us over and over again. This win was his doing. I have not seen him cost us a game since his debut. Shout out to the classy Carl. We don't have Enyeama, but we have Ikeme. |
Icon4s:Ideye to me has not been the type of guy to get goals, that's why I'm surprised when I see him topping the goal chart in Greece. What I know him to be is a guy who makes his goal partner shine. Look what he did to Emenike. Once he stopped been invited, Emenike started to fade away in our team. Kelechi goal was his doing. He distracted his defender and laid the ball to Iheanacho perfectly. It's odd, but I prefer him that way. Some people are not meant for the spotlight. They just work hard for the team. |
Icon4s:Don't be shocked if Rohr plays Musa against Algeria in Algiers. Did you see his comments about him and why he keeps inviting him? |
TheSuperNerd:LOL. Na true. I wont mind a visionary German as the Nigerian President sef. |
Icon4s:You think Musa is not ripe? |
TheGoodJoe:It's a shame bigger clubs have not come for him. He's a very good defender. |
jotey:Actually I don't think Musa Mohammed would have done worse than Ndidi. |
samuelUMOH:It's difficult to admit but there's a big difference between a local coach and a foreign coach. How I wish we can get a foreign NFF President. |
Icon4s:Exactly, an error is an error. You know this is not his first time. A central defender cannot afford that kind of error. Just one error and Zambia scored. Look at the many mistakes Ndidi made at Right back and not a goal was scored as a result. That's the difference between a GK & CB and the rest of the team. Imagine if we didn't score any goal at first half. |
joseph1013:Chai...it was not a good shift o, it was a disaster. We need to find a good defensive right back fast. |
tbaba1234:The errors I see Omeruo make astounds me. For a player of his experience, his school boy errors are unacceptable. |
I understand why Rohr used Ndidi instead of Musa. As an away match, he needed a defensive right back. Though he looks rusty in that position, it's been a good shift. |
tbaba1234:And to think that under the right conditions we can actual blend Nwakali to play in Mikel's position in the future. Unreal potential! |
Ikpeba is not doing this commentary justice. LOL |
Can't wait for Osimhen to replace Ideye in this team. It's gonna blow the world away. |
Great goal by Iheanacho but big credit to Mikel for the buildup & Ideye for the vision for Kelechi |
The way Iheanacho wrapped the Zambia goalkeeper reminds of the way Mama used to wrapped moimoin . |
To be fair, Gernot Rohr looks to be a good coach. His selections, the way he asks the team to play is so exciting. |
Fine goal by Kelechi. Brilliant team play Nigeria 2 Zambia 0 |

EAGLES IN FRESH PAY ROW, 'WE'RE TIRED OF EMPTY PROMISES' https://africanfootball.com/bp_images/2016/10/%5E1ACCC0917C4905147C4295D12B760F902676B344E80AF029D9%5Epimgpsh_fullsize_distr3.jpg Super Eagles chaotic build-up for Sunday’s World Cup qualifier in Zambia took a fresh twist Friday night after they again rowed with the NFF over their unpaid monies. Despite promises they will be paid before departure to Zambia, they were not. At a point the Eagles even threatened they will not head to the airport for the flight to Zambia unless they are paid. The NFF leadership had to come down to the team’s Abuja hotel with billionaire oil magnate and owner of premier league club, Ifeanyi Ubah, to pacify the Eagles. “We are tired of empty promises,” blasted one of the disgruntled players. “It is promises after promises and after that nothing!” Earlier this week, NFF president Amaju Pinnick accompanied by technical committee chairman Chris Green addressed the team at their hotel, promising the Eagles they will be paid some of their monies before their departure. They have not been paid a bonus for their last three matches and there are also outstanding flight ticket refunds. http://africanfootball.com/news/652911/Eagles-in-fresh-pay-row-were-tired-of-empty-promises |
Next match, Pinnick and his gang will ask players to pay for their flights, and we will call it sacrifice. Excellent! |
ZAMBIA VS NIGERIA: OUTRAGE AS PINNICK TAKE CLOSE FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES TO NDOLA WITH BAIL OUT FUNDS FROM FG https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-18-750x350.jpg President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick used bail out funds released by the federal government of Nigeria for the Super Eagles game, to fly his close friends and associates to Ndola for the World Cup qualifiers tie between Nigeria and Zambia. Owngoalnigeria.com sources at the airport revealed that a total of over 50 people travelled with the team in the chartered aircraft hired by the NFF. ”I can confirm to you that the flight is filled. We initially thought it was for the players and their technical crew, maybe with some board members as well but what we saw shocked us over 50 extra people. I thought they say they are broke?” The source told Owngoalnigeria.com. Also a backroom staff at the office of the NFF also confirmed that president of the NFF took his close friends and associates to Ndola thanks to the funds released by the federal government. ”My brother we at the office were shocked, when we escorted the team to the airport and saw faces we have never seen. Infact they were over 50. This is waste, regardless of what anybody says, this kind of jamboree is not expected from a country in recession”, he said “From my count we have about 10 to 15 journalist loyal to the NFF on the flight, on the bills of the NFF. Estacode, accommodation and feeding will be handled by the NFF. Overall over 50 people with no business in Ndola are on the flight. This is a shame”. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2016/10/08/zambia-vs-nigeria-outrage-as-pinnick-take-close-friends-and-associates-to-ndola-with-bail-out-funds-from-fg/ |
AINA SHOULD SWAP ENGLAND FOR NIGERIA - MIKEL The Super Eagles' captain has asked his Chelsea team-mate to consider departing England Under-20s to represent instead the country of his parents' birth John Obi Mikel has called upon Ola Aina to switch allegence from England to Nigeria after he impressed in pre-season and made his Chelsea debut against Bristol Rovers. The 19-year-old has been named on the bench many times this term after signing a new deal with his club in the summer, and currently plays his international football in the England youth ranks. The young full-back was born in London to Nigerian parents and Mikel admits that he rates his team-mate so highly that he would love to line up alongside him in the green and white of Nigeria. "I keep asking him: 'When are you going to come and play for Nigeria?' and he jokes: 'Whenever you come and invite me I will play!" Mikel told Goal. "I think it is something that we would have to discuss. "If he wants to play, we would have to speak to the federation and make sure that he really wants to play for Nigeria. If he is ready, we can talk about, but in the few times we have talked about it, he hasn’t given me a very positive, decisive answer to take back to the FA. "I need a positive answer for me to take the case forward to the FA. We will see what happens." Aina's performances stood out to the midfielder during Chelsea's pre-season tour of Austria and the United States, where the youngster made three starts and several substitute appearances to force his way into manager Antonio Conte's plans. "Aina is a very, very good player," he added. "He has improved quite a lot after playing in a few friendly games and he played really, really well. I was quite impressed by his performances and it is only a matter of time before these kids break into the first team." The 29-year-old Mikel is expected to start against Zambia as Nigeria attempt to qualify for the World Cup in Russia after missing out on the African Cup of Nations, which will be played out this winter. http://m.goal.com/s/en-gb/news/2565/exclusive/2016/10/08/28280922/aina-should-swap-england-for-nigeria-mikel |
