It was one of the most epic TV shows back in the days. It was a monster hit back then.

Saying Things Fall Apart was a monster hit, is an Understatement. It was the most watched tv series back then, with steller cast like Pete Edochie, Justice Esiri etc and every house hold was glued to their TV when it aired.

The story was topnotch back in the day, it still make sense till today. I'm very apprehensive on what Hollywood will do to that masterpiece, given the way they mutilated Harry Potter.

Probably same as every one you've read about the show.

HBO did a great job adapting the source material while also building on the world and further fleshing the characters out.

Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey both do an amazing job in the lead roles. The trauma of their past, their initial distrust of each other gradually evolving into a close father-daughter relationship.

The show does a really great job of capturing the feel and bleakness of a post-apocalyptic world where people have to do whatever it takes to survive. The cinematography captures the greyness of the atmosphere where nobody's really good because they can't afford to be if they want to survive and/or protect their loved ones.
Even the music and lack thereof enhances this experience.

As a show, it's definitely one of the best in the year it aired and, as an adaptation, the kind of stuff fans pray for

Is this series that good? I've been seeing and hearing nothing but possible reviews about it, but I don't want to take the bait and end up regretting it.

It's the same with Fallout. Heard good reviews about it downloaded it but couldn't get past the 3rd episode.
