Few days ago, The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari signed the new minimum wage bill which means government workers earns N30,000. Initially they received N18,000.

Let us look back to the year 2010, on the 31st of December to be precise, the exchange rate of Dollar to Naira was;

N1 = 0.0065 Dollars (which makes $1 = Approximately N150).

The minimum wage of Nigeria got increased to N18,000 in the year 2011, following the Minimum wage Act of 2011, which makes the minimum wage to be;

N18,000 = $120

In the year 2019, after the bill was signed, because of the heavy Dollar to Naira rate ($1 = N360), the minimum wage has dropped in dollar value to be;

N30,000 = $83.

In a statement PDP shared on their official Twitter page, they displayed confidence that they are going to win the November gubernatorial election which is to take place in Kogi State.

The @OfficialPDPNig will win the November 2019 governorship election in Kogi state and salvage the state by enthroning a people-oriented government in the state.
This is just as the leadership of the party assures that the Presidential mandate, which Nigerians freely gave to @atiku on February 23, will be retrieved at the tribunal.

The position of the party came at the end of a crucial meeting of Kogi @OfficialPDPNig critical stakeholders at the Party’s National Secretariat, in Abuja on Wednesday, where the leaders resolved to forego all personal ambitions and work together for the interest of the party and the Kogi people ahead of the election.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, PDP National Publicity Secretary, @officialKolaO said that @OfficialPDPNig’s winning streaks in the just concluded governorship elections in Bauchi, Imo, Rivers, Adamawa, Bauchi, Osun among other states will be reenacted in the forthcoming Kogi governorship election.

“As we all know, our people have gone through pains, pangs, acute poverty, hunger, dehumanization, brutalization, job losses, untimely deaths, suicide and all sorts of anguish as a result of the misrule of the incumbent APC government.

“The people of Kogi state are therefore looking up to the @OfficialPDPNig for a rescue and we cannot afford to fail them. We must therefore not allow anything to demoralize us as the winning streaks, which our party displayed in Imo, Adamawa, Bauchi, Osun among others, will be repeated in Kogi state by the grace of Almighty God.

“In this race, we must also bear in mind that we have the support of the people. Kogi state has always been home to the @OfficialPDPNig notwithstanding the temporary setback of the @OfficialAPCNg .
We must therefore prepare ourselves, stand with the people and salvage our dear state from the pangs of misrule. Our people yearn to move forward and we must give them that leverage which they earnestly seek”.

After the recent occurence in Ajegunle, Lagos State where police was accused of killing civilians, the Nigerian Singer, Ruggedman went to his Twitter page to reveal the identity of the man who committed the crime.

Tayo can make you get up on your toes even though you are the laziest man on earth. She was so hardworking, very neat and the most brilliant employee I have been opportune to work with.Finally, Tayo is very inquisitive. She’s willing to know about everything, including matters that shouldn’tconcern her. I pray for her soul to rest in peace. Love from Samuel,your Director.

My Eulogy to Tayo was delicately crafted as a memoir about her. I dropped the bouquet of flowers I had with me on her grave while stifling great drops of tears that welled up in my eyes; it was an awful moment. I watched fastidiously as flowers petal by petal were dropped on her grave. Many wept bitterly; the atmosphere was bleak, gloomy and depressing. I went straight into my car and decided to leave since the journey back to Lagos was far from her village. As soon as I sat in the car to drive off, I heard that same voice whisperingin my ears, “Murderer” –It echoed in the dreary voice that stung my conscience. The blood left my hands as my palms turned pale white.Scared, I had to slap my ears so hard, and affirmed myself- No more horror movies; you’re thinking this up, I told myself. Taking off my seatbelt, I heard that familiar voice came again – “Murderer”, this time, I had to come down from the car. I started screaming, and it drew a lot of attention. I told them I was hearing some voices in my car, but I couldn’t tell them what I heard, so I won’t become a suspect for Tayo’s murder.


Everyone thought I wasn’t in my right sense due to how bad I was feeling about Tayo’s death. Mr. Emeka my friend agreed to drive me home, while his wife would drive his own family back home. I entered the car again and I was so scared thinking I would get attacked by thatspirit once more, I kept looking round the car throughout the journey, till I slept off. It as pitch black and Tayo looked at me - emotionless, convincing me to tell the truth, if not she would make sure I join her in Hades. I cried out for help from sleep till I woke up shouting for help. I looked round the car again, but didn’t see any other person aside from me and Mr. Emeka. He smiled at me and told me everything would be fine that I should put my mind at rest. I was so scared this timeand I decided to listen to some music with my earpiece and stay awake till we arrive. After some minutes of listening to music, I suddenly heard Tayo singing the song I was listening to. I was in shock, then I turned off my phone immediately and threw my earpiece outside the window. At this point, Mr. Emeka was furious. He turned to me and shouted at me for throwing away my earpiece and asked if I was going insane. I started scratching my hair due to anxiety, then I started crying. Suddenly, Mr. Emeka’s appearance, changed to that of Tayos’, telling me to follow her to the police station to confess my deeds or she would kill me. I was in fear, so I agreed to do it, and that’s is how I got to the station and now I’m at the court to tell you all this. I will tell you everything that happened, but please forgive me.


It was a cloudy Monday morningand I was in my office when Tayo entered inside to give me some files. She was looking too gorgeous to just let her go away that day. I told her how stunning she was looking that day. She smiled and thanked me. She was about leaving, when I stood up, walked towards my door hurriedly, and locked us both in my office. I told her she was arousing my sexual desires and she has to assuage the fire within me with her smooth, soft perfect body. then she slapped me without hesitation and wanted to leave. I held her back, struggled with her since my office was sound proof. I raped her till she was bleeding heavily. She was in so much tears. I continued without caring, and suddenly, she dropped. lifeless. That was when I realizedwhat I did, and I was in shock. I stopped and dressed up hurriedly. I wrapped with one of the bed sheets I usually use to take a nap on my bed at work. I cleaned up the bloody mess and didn’t know what to do next.

I opened my door and peeped to see if there was anyone outside. I saw my secretary and told her to tell all the staff to gather in the meeting room. Few minutes after they gathered, I quickly sneaked Tayo into one of the company’s toilet, poured water on the floor and hit her head on the wall so it would look like an accident in the bathroom. I did it successfully and went into the meeting room like nothing happened. 10 minutes into the meeting, I paused and asked of Tayo. No one had an idea of where she was. I told them to find her and tell her to meet me in my office before close of business.

After the long search, Tayo’s dead body was found in the toilet. We took her to the mortuary since it was already too late. We called her family members and informed them about her death. Her family didn’t care about doing an autopsy since she was found dead in the toilet.

Please you all should save me, I keep hearing Tayo’s voice. She keeps telling me to come and join her. I don’t want to join her please save me.

Tayo’s lawyer pleaded with the Judge to award unabated justiceand punish me, the murderer. I was sentenced to death by lethal injection.Like Tayo, I was going o enjoy a slow and painful death.I couldn’t withhold tears as the Pastor preached to me to give my life to Christ before I died. I don’t know if God heard my prayer, but after being injected with Paralytic; a drug for the sole purpose of administering immediate death, I saw myself dying and I groaned for my flesh to be saved. I realizedthat I am now a ghost wandering around the world with nowhere to go to.
