taking about food growing in an arithmetic progression and population growing in a geometric progression.


remember your sequence and series back in mathematics. AP and GP.
you should know what arithmetic progression and geometric progression is.


the main point of Malthusians theory was that population was doubling at an exponential rate that's in the sense of 2,4,8,16, 32..... That's 2^infinity
from 2 persons to 4 etc
while food growth was growing in a very slow and steady state that's in the sense of 1,2,3,4,5....etc.
